Yep, such an “Apple” thing to do… (I’m surprised they released Flashback 9)! 😉

Flashback Pro coming in 2020? 😂

      X marks the spot

      Atari 8, 9 and X (10), 2019 version

      • Thanks. I didn’t know there were different versions.

  • Does this version have Pacman included with it?

  • -2

Wow, they released 10 of these things? What are they EA?

    • -1

      10 just means 2019 version I think.

      • wikipedia says there were 10 of them. Almost a release every year. Plus the portable one.

    Oh it's by AtGames. Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

    • +2

      AtGames are complete rubbish!!!!

Because of this I wouldn’t touch it

      • +1

How are they rubbish? I haven't really heard about them.

        • Very bad emulation

          • @Twisty: It's not that bad - I mean Atari 2600 games are hardly demanding. Though I believe the Atari X is still running a version of Stella for the emulation which is about version 3.6 or something like that whilst I believe the current version is 6.x something.

            • @Wuggle: It’s more the audio then anything

It might be good and for $20 why not hey

But I’ve had a Mega Drive and some other stuff by AtGames and it was rubbish

    • Im surprised people havent learned by now.

  • +2

I friggin hate that you can't find it on their online store…

    • It was a black friday item that went on clearance.

    • Staff told me they only get them in for pre-Xmas and then clear them all out, so any stock now would be lucky

  • Would love to get one. Anyone have an idea on nsw stock levels?

    • +1

      Very low.

    • I asked at stanhope kmart like 2-3 days ago and they said it was a boxing day special and sold out like 2w ago :(

  • Thanks. Got last 2 from Kmart Lidcombe NSW

    • -2

      lol

    • Can I buy them off ya? I'm around that area too 👌🏼

      • +2

Sorry. They are for me and my brother - I remember fighting for it when we were kids🙂

  • +2

I'll wait for the Xs Max

  • +5

Love how these look and love them for the memories but gee the games look boring, not sure I could stand playing them these days

    • +1

And they are. That's why they load it with 100.

    • It’s about multiplayer but the best single game on here is Solaris, I had to make a dozen maps to even try and finish the game and it’s super hard.

    • Are you serious? There are some of the best Atari releases (that I owned once) in that list. Enduro, Crystal Castles, Pitfall!, Decathlon (I even modded an Atari joystick to get better at this when I was a kid), Keystone Kapers, missile command, chopper command, river raid (shame no river raid II). Not to mention the rest of the classics on there.

I mean, I just wouldn't have fun playing them longer than an hour now because I did heavy time with Atari in my youth, but for people who are into this stuff, this would be great.

  • +1

You can probably emulate the games better on PC or exploited console and download the entire Atari 2600/7800(?) library in a few seconds.

    • It's mainly for the nostalgia so Xers, and older millenials, can play with their spouse and kids.

    • +1

I could be wrong, but I don't see any PC's floating around for $20

      • a few people do own PCs already. less so the atari style controllers perhaps

        • What's a PC?

    • You can say that about nearly every console. Obviously not the point of these things.

    • as someone who only had an atari 2600 for 5 years or so when he was a kid don't even bother, atari had the worst version of every game.

      • +3

Atari 2600 was my first console. GORF, Moon Patrol, Outlaw, Stampede, Mousetrap… hundreds of hours of fun, back when we didn’t have to worry about screen resolution, fps, latency etc

  • +3

I had #8 and it was a regretful purchase, most games was the exact same thing with a different colour. Like Soccer, Hockey and space hockey, 100% the exact same, with different name, and different colour —"

    • +2

That’s how it used to be, probably still is in some cases.

Isn’t ms Pac-Man just Pac-Man with a bow in his hair?

  • The only thing this has going for it is the classic mini console size. Fits in nicely with all the other official mini console releases. Commodore 64, NES, SNES, Playstation and Sega Megadrive.

Buy this for your kids and they would not know what to do with it.

  • All sold out, called up everywhere in NSW & nothing. Also received an email from KMart saying all sold out.

  • I found the last one at bass hill nsw.

  • I found one at minto Kmart. Last one.
