Picked up the MXS5.0 model in July with this deal

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/467587

It's been brilliant. Highly recommend CTEK, the 5 year warranty is pretty sweet too.

Great charger. Got same deal $10 cheaper @$89 in November with choice of USB power pack or cooler bag. Accessories (rubber surround & battery condition indicator) were a nice bonus with those deals.

So if you're after the MXS5.0, it may be worth waiting for a repeat of these Deals! There have been a few recently.

  • MXS 5 vs 7?

the site says the 7 does 8 stage charging too but the light 6 lights where the 5 has 8… or they just dont visually show each stage?

Thanks OP, have a 3.5a multistage Noco that has been great but keen to leverage the extra power from the 7amp CTEK to get the "pre-camping top-up" in a little quicker. Top price, think I paid about the same for the Noco, at half the amps, about 3 years ago. Cheers.

I posted an ebay link to a $170 17amp Victron, with a ramble on my ownership experience of the MXS7 vs the Victron. Affiliate link my grandmother

Thanks OP, when add to cart ONLY charge $119.

    Got one at $119 thanks

    • It's a steal at this price point!

  • Thanks. Perfect timing for my needs. Got it at $119 as well.

  • Is there any point to getting this or just wait for an mxs5 deal?

The mxs5 often comes in deals with accessories. Any of them useful?

    • From above:
Accessories (rubber surround & battery condition indicator) were a nice bonus with those deals.
Battery indicator shows charge using LEDs. Rubber bumper is handy protection for charger / vehicle.

Plus 5000mAh USB PowerBank in last $89 deal.

      • Wow. Battery condition (charge) indicator and rubber surround should be standard

        • Well they're not. But handy to have. Charger works fine without them. There is an included small carry bag to protect charger when not in use.

Battery condition indicator ($35 @Repco) is a separate unit that attaches permanently to battery. So works without the charger.
It also has a connector that the charger plugs into.

There is another plug in connector that comes with the charger.
So 2 batteries can be permanently set up with connectors to be charged (1 at a time), with the added battery condition indicator.

The charger can be permanently mounted, so the rubber bumper ($5 at Repco) may not be needed by all users.

Otherwise these are an added $40 expense.

Good when included with USB PowerBank pack @$89.

Current listed clearance price with cooler bag & accessories is $139 less this $20 discount.

Some stores may still stock the alternative USB PowerBank pack - ask as won't show online.

  • Says $340 as normal price for the mxs7.0 at country WA store…

  • Wow, terrific pricing on this charger!

Should standard kit in every garage. If you don't own one, buy it… especially at this price.

  • Is this charger quiet?. no loud fans.

  • Just ordered one at the Browns Plains store. Was marked at $169 for ignition members, said $35 off for orders over $150, but the price came down to $119.

Power supply mode is a huge plus on this charger that the smaller ones don't have. Smart chargers dont always recognise very flat batteries you need to piggy back the battery to one with power then charge both and remove the good battery. Power supply mode will give a single battery some charge to alleviate the need to do this. It will also run older engels and waecos that don't have built in 240v circuitry.

    • Thanks. Bought it due to your comment

    • It will also run older engels and waecos that don't have built in 240v circuitry.

I do this with my MXS7.0 and Waeco CF-18 fridge.

Connect red clamp to the end post of the 12V cigarette plug and black to one of the springs on the side. Works like a charm.

  • Don’t buy this in store. The $35 discount doesn’t apply to other promotions so you’ll pay the ticketed price.

Just order for c&c. Could do that in store - it's usually quick.

      • This is what happens when I don’t read the fine print 🙂

        • Well, that important info was missing from this Deal. So you've got an excuse!

Most don't read t&c anyway. That's why I put some important points in Bold.
Only read it after your comment😉

  • Great charger. Just bought on line whilst in store. Staff member was amazed at the price. Does not have motorbike battery reduced charging rate option which is a shame

    • I knew I should have read the comments first! For motorcycles, would it be better to get an optimate 4 or 6?

  • Does this have the option to trickle charge?

    • +1

Yes it does it automatically once battery is charged so can keep it connected forever

      • Thanks

  • Anyone's know what's the difference between the M6 and M8 INDICATOR EYELET. Interested in purchasing but than found out there M6 and M8, any help much appreciated.

    • If your talking about the quick connector, its just the size of the terminals where you hook them onto the battery. You need to go out and measure them, or look up the info online for your battery

  • Thanks OP, I also got two Nulon oils for roughly $20.5 as well.

We used to use a lot of CTEK chargers at work. Found them unreliable. Just died or overcharged batteries to the point of destruction. Replaced them with Victron Blue battery chargers and have not had the same issues.

  • I'm in the middle of a warranty claim, I purchased it from a small ebay seller, so returning to CTEK instead, but struggling trying to get CTEK to replace it.

You will probably have better luck hear since dealing with Repco,

    • +1

      just to update my post.

received a replacement unit from CTEK.
so no issues with the warranty through CTEK

  • Same as in other Repco deal,
    🎉$50 instead of $35 discount given on $150+ spend🎉
That explains the lower than expected price in cart.

  • I have no need for this and I still want to buy it.

    • Don't deny what the body and mind wants

  • I added this to cart, with another item, was charged $119.60, but the other item was charged 60c less…which didn't matter and wasn't an issue, till the other item was out of stock and refunded back to PayPal and at the 60c less price.

    So I was charged $119.60.
