Random comment…I’ve been trying to resist buying a new tv. Thanks guys!

Probably the best TV if you exclude Oled. Please don't give bad advice.

    • no I didn't see it there & run & post it

Fantastic picture, no tv recording or timeshift, and sometimes issues with ARC samsung soundbar.

Had I known that sony tvs no longer support usb record, I would have looked harder at something else.

    Can't fault the screen.

    • +1

My X900E has issues with ARC Samsung soundbar too, but also the soundbar itself seems a bit finicky, so might not be the fault of the TV

    • I have a Samsung tv and Sony soundbar and too sometimes have issue with ARC. Looks like Sony and Samsung incompatibility.

    • Issue with arc…Samsung TV with Yama soundbar hard reset to get them working every few weeks

    Wish this is $1K

      Soon…

      • How soon though. I need a TV asap

    • +1

I bought 1 last week for $1400 in my local Myer store. The TV department will renovate soon. They sell it below cost.

      • Which MYER is that? Looking to grab a TV soon.

        • +1

Karrinyup. Right now the only good TV left is A8f $1900 for 55". The marked price is cost price and they sell extra 20% off

  • Paitiently waiting for another LG 65inch C9 deal.

Don't wait… get the Panasonic here:

You won't be disappointed. I have last years model 950 and even without Dolby Vision that this years 1000 model supports, it's awesome.

          3 year lifespan? Serious?

Any deals on the 75' model?

  • +4

I don't even need a TV but I'm going to buy this because it's so cheap

I bought this tv last year and I must say picture is fantastic but this tv is so thick. My 8 year old Samsung is 3 times thinner than it. I didn't notice how wide it was till I unboxed it, imagine the thickness of an old plasma and that's this tv. Just something worth looking at before you commit like I wish I did!

    • +1

Probably thicker because it's LED backlit, as this also improves the picture quality over edgelit it's probably a bit of a trade-off.

    • is yours wall mounted? doesn't look good?

  • +1

if I was spending that much for a TV id probably go a little more and get an OLED

    • +3

When tuned well and viewing dead centre to the screen, the picture quality between this Sony TV and an OLED is very comparable, inky blacks, & popping colour.
The inky blacks and close to OLED picture quality definitely drops away when sitting off centre though.

One other thing - this TV is bright as hell, last time I looked OLED wasn't at that level, so HDR stuff with bright explosions, sunsets, etc is crazy.

    • true, i mean another 700 and get the Panasonic

  • Really holding out hope for a good deal on a 55", this or a Q75r or an LG/Pana OLED

  • +1

    this is not oled ?

    • +1

No it's an LED and a very good one. Brighter peak brightness than OLEDs and no risk of burn in. Preferential for some.

      • +1

My thinking: If you tend to keep your TV for a decade or more, don't go OLED.

  • Does an unboxed 65 inch screen fit in the back of an average sized car?

    • +2

      Really depends on your vehicle.

Boxed I easily could fit this into my station wagon (Skoda Octavia) with the rear seats down.

      PS. This set is amazing

  • +1

One of the best non OLED for picture quality. But I have experienced TV crashing at least 5 times now. Usually when in Quick Settings and YouTube app. On latest firmware update.

Can get it for $1,795.50 C&C or +$77 Delivery at Videopro eBay using code PREPARE…

You gotta be quick … only 2 available

I have the 85 inch version of this and it is amazing! The only thing I miss really from my previous 65 inch Samsung Series 8 is the One Connect mini box which makes it super easy to plug in extra HDMI cables if the TV is wall mounted (as mine is).

  • Is there a place to get decent prices for the 55" version?
