  • wrong link ?

shows as "Online Price From $1,599" for me.

Or maybe I was simply too slow and the 1st 3 +'s got the deal.

    • link is fine for me. Shows $1199.

      • d'oh - I clicked link in text, not on the graphic.
Still 3 available. They're good value at, but I don't really need one (not that that's ever stopped me before….)

  • I still see 3 available at $1199.

  • +3

3 available is not a deal, should be in forums.

    • +5

sorry, don't agree with that. Better chance of getting these than some of the other posts around!

      • +8

I wasn't posting an opinion, its a fact.

        http://www.ozbargain.com.au/wiki/help:rules_guidelines

"MAKE sure there is sufficient quantity."

        • +9

The majority of people here are not even going to think about buying this so even if there's insufficient quantity, it doesn't really matter. The few who are looking to buy this will get a great deal and the others probably wouldn't care if it's out of stock.

        • +4

Very subjective, I think 3 is "sufficient". A bit like Gunns permit for the pulp mill "substantially commenced", that will end up in court :) A lot of people don't read the forums, or may miss it if they did.

        • +10

          Adj. 1. /sufficient/ - of a quantity that can fulfill a need or requirement but without being abundant;

There a still 3 available 1 hour after the post, so obviously they are sufficient…

        • +1

so tell me what is the reasonable quantity? that clause should be remove in the first place, anything in the gray area better not to be clause. it just create a debate.

example someone posted bargain property in here, rrp 100 millions, then he put it for $10 millions only on this website. bargain for sure, limited quantity surely, but how many member will buy it?

        • +7

On a product which is so expensive as this commonsense applies. So sufficient means enough to met the demand for it to remain a deal so its not gone before members have a chance to consider it.

And yes how long is a piece of string..

IF you are that concerned about it being posted, or not, why not use the report button to alert the mods rather than get involved with discussion here. Reading the guidelines you would also discover that point as well. (No report being made by anyone)

That way we can assess whether or not this meets the spirit of the guidelines, which is why we have mods, rather than mobs.

        • +1

I love members who have been on here for a whole year, only posted 1 crappy deal that got 5+ votes, negging every deal that they don't like and telling everybody else the rules about what to post, when….

        • mate, anything that relative, it is hard to measure.
example some people said 20k car is expensive, but some people would said that $20k is cheap. so when you said commonsense apply, when my commonsense and your commonsense are different, it can create a debate.

    • +2

6 days later, the third one only JUST went.
6 days worth of stock compared to most things on here, I can't see any grounds for complaint.

  • Phone order only - no MBC on these.

  • +3

I thought it was cheaper when it was on special few months ago?

    • +4

Do you even know the first thing about monitors vs tv's?

Look at the resolution of a TV vs this Monitor

    • +7

That's right. Someone need to read up on resolution and pixel pitch. Try sitting 2 feet away from a 42" TV and work on documents.

    • +12

the token bigtv guy, theres one of every deal!

    • trolololololol!

  • +3

Great find there and 3 is sufficient as this is an item for a very small market

  • -1

be careful with refurbished monitors..might get more problems than to actually pay for the full price

    • -1

or conversely, if they have properly fixed up whatever problem(s) it had, it may give you years of trouble free running!

    • These are brand new, as are most items on the outlet. Clearly says new or refurbished on all items listed. They are usully purchases that have been cancelled prior to delivery, thus they are restickered and sent on from the outlet warehouse in Sydney, usually quicker than an order through Malaysia :)

  • +1

    Limited Quantity

If a bargain is for a limited quantity, that fact and the quantity, should be publicised in the deal (in the title ideally).

If a bargain is for a low quantity, it might be “unpublished". <

So if it's stated upfront and it's not an item that will be snapped up like a blu ray delivered for $10, whats the fuss about?

  • +4

Pfff. Refurbished product only 1 year warranty compared to the full 3 yrs warranty
And the price is not so good.

New one was $1189 a couple of months ago.

    • +1

Not refurbished - they are new…

    • -1

With only 1 yr warranty compared to the standard 3 yr warranty

      • +2

Would you pay $500 for 2 years extra warranty?

        • +1

No, but considering that when Dell has a proper special on these the price is lower (by around $30 or so) AND includes 2 years extra warranty this deal is not so good. These specials also happen often enough to be just short of a regular price.

Would you pay -$30 for 2 years extra warranty?

        • "often enough" doesn't help if I want a monitor now.
At this moment, it IS a good deal.

        • If you really really need one right now, this very moment then yeah, might aswell. Otherwise I'd say wait.

Not negging it but not plusing it either as Dell has provided better.

  • It shows as 3 left still, if this is correct then there is plenty enough stock, at least compared to the HP touchpad deal…

  • -7

"MAKE sure there is sufficient quantity."

    • +3

How many would you say is sufficient quantity? It's been 10 hours and there is still stock left.

Were you not able to purchase one?

        • -1

          +1

        • -1

          means you got no money

    • -1

I wonder if people read the previous comments before slapping a neg and attempting to make the same point as someone above.

    • -1

I suspect the page doesn't update as people purchase them. This page doesn't look like it's connected to their online shop and you have to call up to make a purchase. Therefore it would make sense (to me anyway) that the page would have to be manually updated every so often. So unless anyone actually DOES call up to check the stock, these might have actually already gone. Nevertheless, I still think it's a great deal despite only being 3 available.

  • +4

You'd be an idiot to buy a refurbished 30" screen for $1200 when they have them for sale a few times a year for the same price, with full 3yr warranty.

I had my 3008WFP replaced twice under warranty after the 1st year. Once with a faulty back-lite, the other developed numerous verical lines running down the panel.

1Yr warranty for a monitor of this price is a joke.

Have some patience, and pickup an actual bargain.

    • +1

How long is the warranty on your $2,500 LCD tv? :)

  • +3

10 hours and still 3 left…… be quick.

  • +2

I have seen these puppies new on Dell outlet for $998 - and they don't last long at that price.

That was when they were selling for $1199 in the shop.
DFO prices are set based on a % of the dell.com.au price at the time of appearing in DFO.

You have to make your own call on whether the extra 2 years warranty was worth $201 or not…

Oh - and the 3 for sale right now are NEW - NOT REFURBISHED

    • hm mind to share where's the dell's outlet or shop?

      • Just click on the thumbnail pic at the top.

  • looks like they are sold. Maybe that page only get updated once a day?
