I wonder what the quality of the caravan cover is like.

I bought one from Supercheap auto (CoverALL brand) and it lasted for about 7 months before the top disintegrated into dust.

The neighbour replaces his aldi one every 2nd year. The van is outside full time.

  • Only a 1 year warranty on the solar panel !? Seems absurdly low for something with no moving parts.
If that is all the confidence they have in it, time to move along.
Rooftop systems have 5 to 10 year warranty, as they should.

    • Rooftop systems aren't mounted to a vehicle.

      • Neither is this one.

        • Caravan is not a vehicle?

          • @0jay: If you look at the mounts it is a portable one not a mounted one which you can still permanently mount but that is not what it is sold as.

@coin saver: Looking at the feet, there are holes for permanent mounting.

@coin saver: Looks a lot like a mounted panel to me.

        • I stand corrected I had a look at these today and they are sold as mounted personally i wouldn't use the bracket/frame supplied and would never use the screw holes to mount it most people actually glue the panel on low brackets that still allow airflow underneath.

  • I've got this charger. Works fine but it doesn't measure the charge current.

  • My local Aldi still has some of the folding "160W" panels, clearing them for $149.

  • You're better off getting a panel deal from 4wdsupacentre I rekon. Though Aldi do generally just take anything back without question which is nice.

      • Yup, dodgy advertising. They're forced to have a link on their front page too.

Their prices are pretty good though.
