  • Anyone know of a similar one with slight down tilt?

      • Thankyou :)

    • BigW has them cheap.
Bought one at Christmas, looks like the Kogan one (low profile) but you can adjust the tilt a little . Has a built in level too.

I thought it was around $20-25 and was used for a 55inch tv.

      • Perfect. Thankyou. Hard to install?

        • +2

          Nah, not really.
Hard to describe so best you look on YouTube and read the instructions that go with it.
Just make sure you are screwing into wall studs and not just plaster.

Sorry if this is a silly question, but would this work for any tv within the size? Have a spare LG 47" which is Vesa 400x400, would this mount be ok? Anything to consider if I was to get this? Never done this before so any help would be awesome. :)

Edit: was going to get this target one for $29 but this Kogan one looks essentially the same.

    • +1

The only issue would be weight. As long as it's under 35kg Vesa is a universal standard so no doubt this mount will work

      • +1

Thanks! The tv is probably about 20kgs so will probably grab one.

Haven't used this one specificity, but I found https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/kogan-ultra-low-profile-fixed-w… to be great!

  • Any similar deals for a monitor using a 100x100 Vesa mount?

  • +1

i have got a low profile TV bracket [dunno which brand], and i found out it is very hard to remove the TV from existing bracket. have anyone experience this before?

    • +2

Yep. And hard to access the ports to plug in cables and USBs

      • +1

budget are you removing the screws on the bottom first?

We had issus plugging in cables with out old TV, upgraded to a new Sony and everything can be very easily accessed so it depends on the shape of your TV how good this mount will be.

        • +1

it was a very old LCD TV (or plasma) left from the previous owner. will try to check out the screws at the bottom tomorrow.

          Thank you for your advise

    • Some wall brackets have a horizontal rod that you have to slide out before you can remove the TV.
Other brackets have a string pull (x2) instead of two screws.
Also get someone to help you to disconnect cables as you take the TV off the bracket.

  • I don't think any 75 inch is weight under 50kgs. My one is even more than that

    • Time to keep a low profile then

    • Hisense 75R7: Net weight (with stand/without stand) kg 33.5 / 32.7

    • +1

LG OLEDs 75" is around 36kg without the stand

LG 75SM8600PTA is 38.8kg without the stand

  • Advice on TV brackets: I moved into a house that has a Wall bracket but the owner has taken the part that is fitted on the TV.

My question is can I buy and TV bracket and make use of the part that is fixed on the TV with the wall bracket?

Never used a wall bracket before so unsure what I need to be looking for

    • Buy a whole new bracket, the holes in the wall will be able to be used again. (They’ll go into the timber wall stud frame. )

      • Hi. Any tricks to find the stud behind gyprock? Is the horizontal length of bracket match with the stud location?

I have been planning for 3 years to hang my 65” sony TV on the wall but worried it will fall down.

        Thanks

        • +1

You can knock on the gyprock and listen for where it sounds more solid. You can also get your smallest drill bit and send it into the wall where you think the stud is and if you miss it, put a bend on a thin piece of wire or coat hanger and put it into the hole and swing it around in the wall to feel it hit a stud.

  • This one under $10 for Kogan credit card holders (I think it came with free delivery).

    60kg holding capacity.

  • Samsung s7 75" is 37kg. Risky i guess.

    • +2

Nah, its just a safety thing for the company.

The cheap ones are usually powdercoated steel. Ive hung my bodyweight (over 100kg) off various $10 mounts rated to 30kg, and its been fine.

Very are to have one fail.

      Used to install tvs.

      • -1

But you hung your bodyweight for only minutes at most, whereas the TV sits there for years > metal fatigue risk ?

Asking on an old 42" plasma at 46kg

        • +1

Unless your TV is swaying in the breeze, fatigue shouldn't be a failure mode.

    Anyone used this?

From the pictures I'm not sure I like the design, looks like it uses a spring-loaded hook system and the two arms that connect to the back of the TV sit flush with the wall (if this is the case it would make it almost impossible to run cables to the TV without causing it to bulge).

    • If you look at the user manual, there are no spring loaded components. The bottom is a very long screw to secure the TV from being lifted off accidentally.

    • Good point mate. Thanks.

Thankfully HDMI ports on my TV are on the side of the TV.

For the low profile mounts you also need to be careful about the power and antenna sockets if they are to be right behind the TV.

      • Figure 8 (IEC-C7) power cords are fairly flexible but the iec-13 (Computer Power Supply)type are not so.

  • Still deciding if I should get this one or the ultra low profile..

  • Subject says Shipped. does it mean delivery included?

I tried to buy one and it adds delivery fee on top.

  • These brackets were selling for $2 a few weeks ago.

    • Where?

      • +1

They were from Kogan. I use the pricehipster.com.au site which was made by an OzBargain user. It shows the best deals every day and these mounts popped up for just $2 for a really short period of time.

Keep an eye out you might get lucky.
