  • Is there a significant difference between NBN100 and NBN50 package? Only doing casual browsing and YouTube.

    • Depends on a lot of things, if your household is doing heaps of stuff at once, yes, like streaming, multiple devices connected, gaming, downloading etc. otherwise not really.

Stay away from this company. Non existing support. Created a ticket about disconnections about a week ago, no response still. Looking to switch back to AussieBB

  • How does booking in advance work? If i picked say 20th of march, does that mean they will send a tech before then to connect me to be ready on the 20th?

    • +1

I’m guessing you’ve never had NBN before? If not, then you can’t set the installation date in advanced (it won’t even give you the option) and can take 1-2 days to get the installation appointment which you can change if it doesn’t suit you.

  • How do I disconnect SL and move to ABB?

    • Sign up online or over the phone with ABB.

When ABB notify you that the nbn setup is complete reboot your router.

Call Superloop to confirm the cancellation and avoid bill shock.

You need to cancel with SL first.

        • No you don't.

If you have FTTP you can end up with 4 nbn connections running at once.

@Twix: Because you can have connection problems as your new RSP will not be aware the default port is already allocated. This has happened to many customers in the past, and can be a real issue if the old RSP doesn’t release the port for use.

        • You need to cancel with SL first.

No, no you do not. Why do you think you need to?

          • @Nousernamehere: I have a HFC nbn connection - is it still the same?

            • +1

@atom1319: FTTN/B/C and HFC only allow a single connection at a time, so when you move providers you do what’s referred to as a ‘churn’ from one provider to the next. This will usually have minimal downtime (5-10 mins, even sometimes less than that) and the existing provider should be notified that a churn has happened away from them but do still need to contact your previous provider after the churn has gone through to make sure that they close your account. This is best done a couple of days before your rollover date for the next month just in case anything goes wrong.

FTTP, Fixed Wireless and Satellite all have 4x UNI-D ports, so can have up to 4 independent connections at the same time. Usually when these are provisioned it will just be done on the next available UNI-D port, unless you ask for it to be provisioned on a specific port. Your previous provider doesn’t know you’ve set up another connection on say your UNI-D 2 port, so you have to notify them to cancel your connection or else they’ll just keep charging you.

  • Moved from Kogan NBN to SL in less than 3 minutes.

  • Best way to cancel with ABB? Email? Phone?

Scheduled cancellation would be best if possible?

    • By phone is faster.

  • Just signed up, wish me luck.

  • I signed up in Feb on the $20 off each month for 6 months 500GB 100/20 plan via HFC here on the Gold Coast.

Gotta say, so far I am mighty impressed $59 for a 100/20 connection with speed tests of 94.7MB down and 18MB up.

Member Panel is also pretty cool with the exact info I want to see and speeds seem far better than expected.

Just wondering if after 6 months, has anybody then churned away from SL and then come back a month or two later?

  • How much notice should I give if I want to switch to another provider after the promo period? say after 7 months?
