9545

Hello, fellow Ozbargainer's! My name is Zac Kaplan.

A few months ago we launched our website cheaperdelivered.com, an Australian business selling subscription-based products, we utilise the benefits of combined shipping, bulk buying and concentrated products to pass on massive savings to our customers.

I would like to post out our toilet paper, we have plenty of stock and have not increased the prices to gouge consumers as other online toilet paper stores have done.
https://cheaperdelivered.com/product/premium-recycled-48-rol…

You will find on our website that you can make orders and, if we do run out you can place a back-order and have it confirmed within 3 days (it is very likely to be confirmed), we are charging $0.25 (twenty-five cents!) per hundred sheets of toilet paper https://cheaperdelivered.com/product/premium-recycled-48-rol…, you get a $6 discount if you pick up the toilet paper from our office in Melbourne CBD (call/email for details on pickup). At 23 cents per 100 sheets, we have the 700 sheet roll also https://cheaperdelivered.com/product/premium-recycled-48-rol…

Our prices are highly competitive, especially when compared to eBay/Who Gives A Crap/Amazon/Coles (for recycled)
All of our toilet paper is environmentally friendly and most are recycled

Products will be posted within 1-2 days and we use couriers please and Australia post for delivery, delivery times may vary but typically it's 1-5 days.

Our super concentrated washing powder can be purchased with our toilet paper only, it's at an incredible price $0.25 per 100g (equals 500g of regular washing powder)
https://cheaperdelivered.com/product/100-concentrated-washin…

Our razors are also worth a mention as we have some of the lowest prices on razors as well as Australia's first 7 bladed razor

All prices on the site are regular prices and will remain the same for at least 6 months

50% of all our profits go towards WaterAid https://www.wateraid.org/au/

Please like and share us on facebook https://www.facebook.com/cheaperdelivered
Please contact us if you notice any bugs/glitches/typo's/mistakes/production errors on the website please pass it onto us constructively! We are a new store

If you have any questions please feel free to comment it OR the Best way is to contact us on our contacts page.
We can also do bulk orders but please note, logistics can be the largest cost of bulk orders so often there isn't a huge discount to be had unless you can pick it up from Clayton

    • Why are sparkies selling subscription based toilet rolls?

  • +21

Sounds like an ad. What's the normal price?

    • +18

If you don't want to see ads for toilet paper on ozbargain then best not come to ozbargain for the next week or two. Mods don't care

      • +2

        sheeeeeeet

    • +11

      Take a look at http://whogivesacrap.org/

They have sold out entirely and are charging $52 for the same type of product, 48 rolls 400 sheets coming to 0.27 per 100 sheets
https://au.whogivesacrap.org/products/double-length-48-pack-… (their add say's it's 3 ply but we have tested it against our own and our toilet paper thicker despite being 2ply)

Another thing to note is they don't have 700 sheets per roll which we sell even cheaper ar 0.23 per 100 sheets

      • +2

How does your paper compare to theirs? I have theirs and I’m not a fan. It’s not very soft.

        • +3

I have theirs also and I'm not a fan in the slightest! We certainly are softer that's a fact!

IF you send me a message I'll be happy to send you a free sample (to see the toilet paper quality)
If you're interested let me know!

          • @zackpal: tried to send message to u via contact us page on your website but it says server error…

      • +7

Think the question is to whether this is a discounted price or just your regular price advertised on a bargain site.

        • +3

Yep, not jacking the price != bargain

          • -1

@cheaponos: Well it kind of does in today's crazy market!

    • +1

Answer is the description of this post.

All prices on the site are regular prices and will remain the same for at least 6 months

      • Question seems to’ve sailed over OP’s head though

  • +1

Both links in the description go to the 700 sheet rolls.
Both roll types list different cost per hundred sheets in the text compared to the dot points.

  • +3

    https://cleanauxsupplies.com.au/OHLA-RECYCLED-TOILET-TISSUE-…

Cheaper here. No deal. You are charging one dollar per roll. This is less.

    • +6

The site you quote charges for shipping if spending less than $250.

      • +14

        I like to be prepared

      • +7

$27 for the same quantity/item, shipping is $10 to Melbourne. cleanauxsupplies has better pricing and it ain't even on special.

        • -4

Shipping is free with this company so not sure how you come to your conclusion. I don't believe this was touted as a special either.

          • +5

@englfc: $37 for 48 sheets inc delivery at cleanaux

$48 for 48 sheets inc delivery at Cheaper Delivered

  • +5

Where is this made? Is this imported?

    • Very good question, thanks for pointing this out.

Unfortunately, we were unable to find many recycled toilet paper suppliers in Australia, so although it's purchased from an Australian company, the toilet paper itself was made in China (the stock is 100% virus free, it was imported in huge bulk about 6 months ago)

      • +4

Not particularly happy about the non-local stock, but appreciate the honesty. When you couldn't find "many" suppliers, what was wrong with those you did find?

        • +21

          Their profit margins…

          • +1

@tromboc: Or, not enough client appetite for it.

A LOT starts/ends with buying patterns.

        • What makes you 'not particularly happy' that it's not local stock?

        • +2

Yeah seriously, there is zero reason to import toilet paper. It is cheap and abundant and the vast areas of burnt pine forests will likely be turned into toilet paper or lower grade products.

Do not support imports of inferior products via giant subsidized tanker ships.

          • +3

@Telios: Plenty of raw materials, not plenty of factories. Even WhoGivesACrap manufacture theirs in China.

      • +8

What antivirus testing do you use to support the claim of 100% virus free? Or does the claim mean if there is a virus, then it there is no extra charge because it is free?

        • +6

The cia only released the virus in December

          • +3

@frazel: OP is the CIA, this is how they're releasing it in Australia.

            • +1

@Miss B: I can neither confirm nor deny details of any operation without the Secretary's approval

          • @frazel: While this may be true, what about all the other viruses already at general release? 100% virus free implies all viruses.

        • +2

They probably give it a scan with the good old Norton Antivirus

  • +40

this is a decent deal people, hes put a fair bit of info in the ad itsself and atleast hes not trying to turn this into some joke. Well done OP

  • +4

You might want to fix your Privacy Policy link (https://cheaperdelivered.com/?page_id=3). How do you cancel a subscription? Through My Account?

    • +1

      Yes absolutely, good point!

To cancel your subscription you can do it on the my account option, you can also do it through paypal (we only use paypal for payments including credit cards), you could even call/email us about it but your 100% correct it should be written clearly and it will be done soon. Thanks for the constructive feedback

7 bladed razors - now you’re talking - been waiting for this one for a while - for some reason 6 just ain’t enough 😳

    • +1

Ahmen! Whenever I use a 5 bladed/6 bladed system my face is about as smooth as concrete

      • +3

        I think he was joking

        • +13

          I think Zack was too

  • +4

Here comes all the spammy TP companies

  • +2

How exactly is this toilet paper recycled? 🤔

    • +4

haha, the toilet paper itself is not recycled, it is recycled toilet paper (not re-used), so made from old paper but funny question

    • +1

just about to ask the same. thought it's one of the shitty business no one dared to venture into

  • +29

I would prefer to buy Australian made. This virus and people panicking has only highlighted how much we rely on imported products. Let's keep what little manufacturing we have left and support local jobs.

    • -4

absolutely, I totally agree, it's safe to say that there's very few toilet paper manufacturers in Australia and currently due to the shortage supply will be the main concern globally

      • +12

it's safe to say that there's very few toilet paper manufacturers in Australia

        That’s CRAP

Most of the main brands are manufactured in Australia.
Kleenex, sorbent, quilton. They make them all over Australia, SA, NSW, WA….

        • +11

We are talking about Recycled toilet paper :)

          • +26

@zackpal: Doesn’t importing toilet paper from China negate the environmental savings of recycled toilet paper in the first place?

            • @stickyfingers: Not at all compared to chopping down and uprooting trees unfortunately

              • +10

@zackpal: I had a quick look online and couldn’t find any clear resources that support this claim. Any chance you’ve got some evidence to back up the claims OP? Not saying you’re wrong, but you can’t just blanket claim it is better because it’s recycled.

              • +4

                @zackpal: Why not both?

                http://icarepaper.com.au/

                Recycled and Australian made.

                • @NobalaKoba: I'm totally in love with their website!!!

Unfortunately it' only seems to be available at the supermarkets, which are mainly sold out

            • +3

@stickyfingers: He's full of it. Plenty of paper mills are with a few kilometres of the renewables plantations used for paper products in Australia.

The Visy factory in NSW is surrounded by forests and mills.

          • +13

@zackpal: Recycled toilet paper….. That is imported..
Your a snake oil salesman! and just profiteering from the stupid!

            This should not a OzBargin!

      • I heard that toilet paper from China is different to AU ones. They don't dissolve and might block the pipes. Please clarify. Thanks!

    • +2

Who Gives a Crap also have their toilet paper made in China (https://support.whogivesacrap.org/hc/en-us/articles/36003564…). It seems like most recycled toilet paper is produced in China.

      • +6

I did allot of research on this before going ahead with this business and all recycled toilet paper is made in China, I have (when I conducted my research 6 months ago) not found a single manufacturer in Australia that does make recycled, and it's the same for the razor blades, HOWEVER it's important to not our washing powder is Australian made

        • +2

all recycled toilet paper is made in China

Good reason not to buy it then.

        • +10

Queensland Tissue Products manufacture recycled toilet paper in Australia, so you cannot say there are none in Australia. Icare TP that you can buy at Woolies is also made in Australia

    • Hi mate, take a look at our washing powder's, that's 100% Australian made.

Unfortunately, there's no recycled toilet paper made in Australia that' I'm aware of

      • +9

Safe brand is australian made and owned. 100% recycled and unbleached. It also raises funds to support Planet Ark and costs 0.26 per 100 sheets.

    • +6

Ad to me cashing on shortage.

  • +14

Business is called "Cheaper delivered" yet "you get a $6 discount if you pick up the toilet paper from our office in Melbourne CBD".

    • +2

hahaha yes, perhaps we should rename to "even cheaper pickup" haha I'll pass that onto the boss

  • 48 shushi rolls!!

    • +9

If you ate 48 sushi rolls you would need to buy this for sure!

      • +2

Eventually…for a while though you wouldn't need any.

  • -2

"100% Recycled Toilet Paper". Can you recycle it after use and then use it again and again?

    • +6

that would be 100% recycled toilet paper, unfortunately, our recycled toilet paper is not re-usable and I hope no one proves me wrong

    • +1

I think you got the words “recycled” and “recyclable” mixed up ;-)

  • Two issues with your website. 1. Stating I need a billing address (I was paying via PayPal… never had an issue before.
    2. Hard to find your items depending on your current location on website.

    • Absolutely, thanks for that, with the billing address there's a checkbox that you tick to make the billing address the same as the postal address but I'll put that on the list of fixes, and for the items thanks for raising that, I'll ensure there's a "store" button in the header so no one gets lost

      • +2

Just got off the phone. Wish this business well. My wife buys in bulk from who gives a crap and distributes to other families. More environmental consideration and donation of profits than cost. The first box will be tested to see if we switch.

      • just to confirm we found the billing address issue was with paypal right?

  • +7

How many layers of this bum fodder to I need to wrap around my head to keep the virus out?

    Stoopid f'ing country.

  • +37

Not discounted, normal price. Just cashing in on the stupid hysteria. Would rather use a garden hose on my arse than join this embarassing stampede.

    • +2

Absolutely, we have not engaged in price gouging like some of our competitors who shall not be named for legal reasons, but even the ones that jacked up their prices have put up signs saying they ran out of stock when I suspect they haven't, I believe it's so they can put the prices up even further but we won't stand for it.

      • how much was their 48 Double Length Rolls selling for? got mine for 42 (after adding discount) but will happily return if theyve jacked

      • +10

The site is called Ozbargain. If the site was called Oznotripoff then maybe you'd have a notripoff worthy post given the current situation. Definitely not a bargain though.

        • +4

I don't understand this logic. Something can be a bargain without it being on special. The site is not called OzSale or OzSpecial…

          • @benjamin: Sure it can. But this is not any of those. The claim to fame is essentially "we're not as bad as some other people". Hardly a bargain by any stretch.

    • +2

Yes, it is probably the most absurd thing I've heard about in my lifetime. I still can't believe it's actually occurred, though I can't confirm it has as I can't be arsed!

      • +4

Fella got tasered in Tamworth BigW while loading up on TP. It’s absurd alright.

        • After reading this comment I had to google it. Sheer madness! "reports of a person being threatened with a knife at a Woolworths in western Sydney"

          • +1

@englfc: Though I guess we got a glimpse of the madness of people today during the bushfires when everyone went out and bought an air purifier, instead of just settling with keeping their doors and windows closed on the bad days. However, I digress.

            • +2

@englfc: Closing doors and windows unfortunately doesn't stop hazardous particulates from coming into your property. Our building codes do not require environmental sealing (heat/cold retention) so smoke easily penetrates and the inside becomes as bad as the outside.

              • +1

@bargainshooter: It stops most of it and you'll breathe in more in a fraction of the time walking down a busy street.

To say it reaches the levels of outside is ridiculous as well!

My wife was bought one of these contraptions and when we turned it on the reading was about 11 and the green light was on. It was over a hundred outside.

        • assaulted a female store worker and another female customer. tried to grab cop's gun as he was being arrested. classy bloke.

          • +2

            @tdw: It’s Tamworth, Jake.

        • +2

          Lol
It was my day off and shopping day today so I took my time and went to a few different shops in my local shopping centre out of interest to look at the (lack of) toilet paper. At Woolies there was a good 20+ metres of empty shelving where the tp usually is, Big W had a couple of large packs left, but Aldi freaked me out the most, as there was no tp, tissues, paper towels, napkins, tinned tomatoes, baked beans, long life milk etc.
