OMG, just got one from BIGW for $298+$7delivery…

    • +7

Whoa, you got ripped off duuuuude.

    • -1

in this case the bigw deal is slightly better in the sense you get FF points plus a fuel discount voucher.. whereas at kmart, you get none… of course, depends if you drive a lot and travel.

      • -1

YOU get FF points and fuel?? since when?!?!

        • +1

woolies' everyday discount card. isn't that still valid? spend > $30 you get 4cents and any $ above 30 you get 1 FF point.

      • +2

Those things will never be worth $16.

      • You only get FF points or fuel voucher..

200 FF points would equate to about $2??

    • sup wanger

  • Can i just bring in my Harvey Norman receipt? So since i paid $299 for the PS3 at Harvey, wouldn't that mean i get just over $10 refund(Head not working atm) =/

    • +1

      you can always try
and yes you will get $11 back if they honour it

      • Okay, i'll see how it goes on Thursday :) $11 can go towards extra credit for my pre-order

  • +7

I will bite you for not even being able to spell "PlayStation" :p

    • fixed LOL hahaha

      • -2

        you forgot the capital S

        • +6

Big deal! still fixed it =P

        • much better…

  • I just bought one on Saturday from dicksmith. Do you think I can ask them to refund me? or can I just return it and get refund?

    • They have 14-day change of mind guarantee or some sort. So if you take the receipt back on Thursday 8th and tell them that K-Mart does it for $289, the manager should give you the difference back.

      • +6

For some reason Dick Smith has quietly removed their 14-days change of mind return/refund policy. Now their refund policy is similar to its competitors "Please choose carefully as Dick Smith does not normally accept return of goods where you have simply changed your mind"

        • +12

          Those m@#$$f@#$ers!

        • Weird. I bought a cable last month and returned it within 14 days, and they had no issue with it. It must be pretty new.

        • So they are m$&@#$#@%?ers because they offer you the minimum returns policy…get over it it is $10

        • +4

Actually, the change to Dick Smith's return policy is very interesting. (Completely separate to this deal.)

I'll be far less inclined to buy from DSE now.

        • Likewise, the DSE returns policy was easily one of their greatest strengths.

Its probably up to the discretion of the manager now.

Is this good? 320GB PS3 for $329 delivered
    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-PlayStation-3-Slim-320GB-PS3-…

    • +1

Why don't you just buy a 320GB bundle with either Resistance 3 or Move Starter Pack for $389? =P works out to be the same if you're after either.
Btw this is also in the K-Mart catalogue

        • +3

Don't be like that. Support the developers. They're the folks that provide us with all this entertainment.

If you want to save money, buy overseas rather than from local retailers. It's not like paying 20 bucks for a semi new game (~6 months or so) is asking for a lot.

        • +1

agreed with ur2dads, I used to dl games off the net and played on my cfw ps3 but since I prefer to play online games, I went back on the ofw and bought games from zavvi or the hut and occasionally buy games from psn. Games are cheap these days and if you buy games that you really want to play then 3-4 games per year is not that expensive.. Do what I did !! buy it, play it, finish it, sell it. You might be able to get around 30-40% of the original value back, thus you can put it toward your next purchase.. :)

        • i will buy if the game is a really good game. and it's not easy to mod a ps3. That's just my plane and might not necessary to do that.
By the way, i just found that the ebay seller just reduce the price from $379 to $329 for 320GB PS3 at 29 AUG 2011.
And it's guarantee that the ps3 is genuine.
          Check here for purchase history:

          http://offer.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewBidsLogin&_trk…

        • So sad, i tried to post it to ozbargain but ebay seller needs ABN or it will not be published.

        • -7

How would you mod the ps3? Any guides or links?

        • +2

and if you are really tight, go get the 2nd hand ones from JB hifi.

    • Better deal?

    • +1

This one from Ebay has Region A Blu-ray . If i'm not mistaken Australia is region B. Of course it doesn't matter if the Blu-Ray is region free, but I won't risk it.

      • It's also Region 3 for DVD (Oz is Region 4, of course) and it's a lot harder to find all-region DVDs than all-region BDs. Having said that, most people have more than one DVD player.

  • This is good price, would EB Games price match this in Perth?

    • +4

EB games is useless they never price match. well not never but they will look for every excuse in the book. Like the store has to be in the same center as EB games.

      • +1

They've always price matched for me, even if the closest store I'm matching is like 2 hours away.

      • Agree with that. Last time when Big W was doing the special for FFXIII for $15. I went to Big W there but out of stock. Then I went to EB Games, they wouldn't price match since Big W was out of stock. WTF, if Big W had the stock, whey I should be doing the business with EB Games with hassles when I can happily buy the game from Big W without any hassle.

        • +1

A lot of retailers put the stock rule in their price matching policies.

It's to stop other retailers from putting an extremely limited quantity of stock at a price far below cost, then their competitors having to price match the low price and lose money.

        • This makes perfect sense. Why should they price match if its out of stock?

      • EB Knox City is hopeless.
will pull every excuse they can to avoid a price match

  • +2

Well it looks like I'm off to get a PS3 this week, since Coles staff discount card drops the price to $274.55 (5% off) :)
Recently bought an Xbox360 so probably don't really need a PS3 as well, but since a standalone 3D Bluray player is not really that much less than that and with a PS3 and you get both the bluray and a game system, the price is just too hard to resist.
Target did their double staff discount weekend last weekend too, and Kmart usually do theirs soon after. Fingers crossed they pick this weekend :)

    • +2

how do you know when they are doing the double staff discount?

      • +3

I get it through as a news update on my Coles email address. They usually attach a PDF copy of the flyer that store managers are supposed to put up on staff noticeboards. Usually get less than 24hrs before it starts each time though.
I'll keep an eye out for any future ones and put a notice up in the forums that they are on(since double team discount is not officially a bargain on it's own).

        • thank you. i appreciate that

  • +1

+1 for the comment about saving the extra dollar

  • Bought a PS3 at Kmart for $299 on the 18th do they have like a match policy or the like so I get a small refund

  • I think getting the myer deal for $350 is better in the long run. The band hero pack and the extra controller. Just sell the band hero pack on ebay and you essentially get a extra controller for cheap or for free.

    • Not really, Myer's deal doesn't give you extra controller. It give you a dual shock dock…so unless you like the Guitar Hero…

      • My bad. Then this deal is good. Who needs the games on offer. The jb 2 x 40 ps3 bin has older but better titles. I'm certain for the $350 packages they do offer leading up to Christmas, someone will find value in. Since GT5, Killzone 3 and Little Big Planet 2 have dropped to 40 they will put it into those packs.

  • I have to get around to setting my PS3 I got from Big W. God, I am so lazy!

    • what version is your firmware 3.65?

  • ALL OUT OF STOCK!!! What to do? :(

    • and their not sure when the restock will be!

  • ALL OUT OF STOCK!!! What to do? :(

    • easy.just pay $9 more and pick one up at bigw.plenty stock there.

  • none left

    • i just pick mine from K-Mart Bondi.

From the Online shop, you can check which store still have some stock, as far as I concern, Marrickville and Ashfield still have some

Better call them and ask about the stock.

  • Got one at Victoria Westfield Fountain Gate Kmart on Friday 09/09/11.

Asked them how many they had left and was told heaps left.

Came pre-installed with version 3.65 firmware

  • I see on the catalogue the kmart deal ends 14 sept
When does the $298 deal at bigw end?

  • wonder why the PS3 and XBOX 360 is getting cheaper? think the new consoles are coming out soon well the xbox i think :)

  • yes it is

  • great deal

  • FYI from the 19th Sep, this and the 360 will be $288 at BigW in their catalogue
