Don’t get me wrong, it’s a great price, but has been cheaper: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/453680

An excellent speaker though - highly recommended! Heat :)

Mono summation. It’s not like they just push out left or right channel only.

We have a megaboom and we use it daily, love it.
Also, buy 2 of them and I'm pretty sure you can group them and use them in stereo.

Over 150 can be connected if you want to splash out!

These are great speakers, not the sound quality of the Bose soundlink however great for the beach/park/pool as they’re rugged and waterproof.

Good point. Bought 150 for starters.

      • Do you know if you can connect a ue boom 2 and a 3 together?

    • +1

I do this at work but I'm not sure it's stereo - kinda sounds like 2x mono.

      • +3

You can change the setting in the UE app to be 2 x mono, or stereo

  • Picked up the Wonderboom (1st version) from the Post Office for $49. Great little unit with decent sound for anyone who wants to go cheaper.

  • Any of these close to this price on Ebay without the code? I want to use an Ebay voucher that cannot be stacked with any other coupons on eBay. :(

  • Good price, for sure. I ended up getting a JBL Charge 4 instead of a Boom, though. The JBL has USB-C charging, like our other devices. The Boom is still micro USB, pretty old-school these days. The JBL is stereo and can be used as a powerbank to charge other devices, so great for camping, beach, days out etc. They can also be linked together like the Booms. But, at this price, the Boom is hard to go past.

Yeah this is a great price for the UE boom but I opted for JBL too because of USB C. It’s just such a hassle to plug in micro USB into my charger. The JBL Flip 5 is available for just $119 almost every retailer and sounds better than UE Boom 3.

Every JBL speaker I've ever had (2x Charge 3, 1x Flip 4) has had issues with the charging port breaking. After the 2nd one I was annoyed, after the 3rd I resolved never to buy anything JBL-branded ever again.

  • Are these much better than the 1st gen ones?
I have a first gen Boom & Mega Boom and am not hugely impressed with them…

Is it worthwhile buying an extra one just for the stereo mode? My mind says no, because the sound quality is pretty average..

Keen to hear some thoughts on the issue.

    • I can't comment on the UE but I put my google minis in stereo and was a nice change.

JB Hifi were nice enough to price match (same company) which saved me doing click and collect, and I grabbed a different colour (Unicorn) which is the one my wife really wanted. Could be worth a try (I think they might have approved it as Unicorn isn't as popular).

I was tempted to get a Boom 2 so I got 3.5mm jack, but given this has better range and waterproofing (and is cheaper) I figure I can get a 3.5mm to Bluetooth adapter if I ever need one.

  • Not sure what I am doing wrong, but I keep getting "This code can't be applied to your order".

  • JB hi-fi in the Perth city refused to price match. Said they can only advertised what's on their website before the coupon. Is that right?
