Thanks to HUKD, these are the steps that will work:

1.) Download & install the following VPN trial software on your phone / pc / mac > zenvpn or hotspotshield
2.) Select your location as Brazil (using Brazil ip) and click connect
3.) Visit the Xbox.com website in incognito mode on your browser and login using your Xbox Live details
4.) Redeem the code!

And these steps for best swapping XBL to Game Pass Ultimate (for new users to Ultimate):

1) Buy 12m Brazil Live Gold code via Cdkeys. $46.09
2) Using TunnelBear VPN set to Brazil log into Xbox app/Microsoft Store/Redeem code. Code should then redeem for 12m Live Gold.
3) If 2 successfully applied repeat steps 1) & 2) ONCE (max 2 Brazil codes). Note: Once 1, 2 & 3 complete you can switch VPN off.
4) Purchase 1m Ultimate (inc 2m free) for $1 via XBOX app/website/console.
5) Once 4 complete check via XBOX App/settings that you are now up to 27m ultimate.
6) Once 5 confirmed, buy 1 x 3m game pass from Cdkeys $15.99.
7) Apply code to your XBOX account via app. Extends ultimate by 2m.
8. if 7 successful repeat steps 6 & 7.
9) If 8 successful repeat steps 6 & 7.
10) if 9 successful, repeat steps 6 & 7 once more.

And a note for those already converted, 12 months Xbox Live Gold equals 4 months Game Pass Ultimate

    These are usually hit and miss even with a vpn. Think you can also have troubles redeeming if you have existing subscription from somewhere other than Brazil.

      This happened to me a month ago. I had to wait until my Aussie subscription ran out before it would let me redeem the Brazil code, using VPN.

        When the $1 upgrade became available I contacted ms and cancelled the rest of my remaining subscription (1month) then redeemed 3 brazil codes with vpn then did the $1 ultimate upgrade through my xbox no vpn.

    Shouldn't the $1 Game pass upgrade affect whatever Xbox Gold you have remaining?

    I thought it was advised to stack XBL gold to 36 months & then apply the $1 upgrade…

      There's a note about maximum 2 Brazil codes = 24 months, that's why you'd buy a further 6 months game pass

    Thanks OP, gold worked fine and now on ultimate for 25 months for $93.18.

    Didn't bother with the 2 months for $16, figure something else may pop up before this one finishes up.

    Thanks! Still works. Just bought two which netted me 26 months with the extra month on enabling recurring subscriptions!
    Now to figure out how to get another 7 months before converting to Game Pass Ultimate :D

    I paid $52 but was able to stack 36months onto my account in step3 - I could not see where to get the 2 months free ultimate but figured I would just convert the 36 months for an extra $1 total $157 that's 3 years of Game Pass… still an absolute bargain compared to $574 that you would pay on a regular subscription… a whopping $417 saving !

    Double checked on console and it said next charge AU$15.95 on 3/28/2023 :)

    At least if this c19 stay at home thing drags on I won't get too bored ha!

        I think my fake home address tripped their security alarms.
        I don't know if i trust these guys enough with my real details.
        Any comments on their creds?

        I had to pay an extra $20 for vpn for the month so I could take advantage of this deal.
        So in reality, this may only work out slightly cheaper than buying it direct from MS at $79.

    Got Xbox Live gold 26 months for $86. $41.99 for 12 months now. I already redeemed the $2 for 3 months Xbox Gamepass Ultimate already. If I pay $15 for 1 month for Gamepass Ultimate. Will my 26 moths Xbox Live Gold convert to Ultimate?

    I still have 2 days on my Ultimate, when trying to redeem the new code I get the message "Redeeming your Prepaid Xbox Live Gold 12 Month code will automatically convert to 4 months of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and will be added to your current Xbox Game Pass Ultimate account. By redeeming this code, you agree to this conversion. All conversions are final; ratio subject to change.".

    Does anyone know if this will shrink the Gold membership by 2 days or by 4 months? Can wait another 2 days but would rather get it done earlier than later.

      If you're already with Game Pass, and add Live Gold, it'll do exactly what it says it will, and add 4 months Game Pass Ultimate for every 12 months of Live Gold. You need to buy Game Pass Ultimate in order to extend it

        Sorry still a bit confused here, if I apply the 12 months Live Gold today, what will I end up with? Will it expire on 16/4/2021?

        I am just being cautious that it won't convert 4 months of the Live Gold to my current Game Pass, then expire in 2 days, where I end up with just 8 months of Live Gold.

          You can't add Live Gold, while being a Game Pass member, it'll auto convert.

    I've been trying to activate the code (VPN set to brazil etc), but keep getting told it's not from my region. I've noticed my email listed on the Xbox page has (Australia). Is there anyway round this?

      Try changing your console region to Brazil. It will restart. Then redeem the code and switch regions back to Australia.
