      Easy to install, if you ever changed a tap before you can do this.

      Legally, pretty grey but I think it would be classed as Notifiable Work and would require a plumber. Not 100% sure on this though.

    So why does this product only have a 12 month warranty on it?

    If the "other" version broke down after 18 months…. Well who's to say this won't happen after 12!?

      It very well might, in my opinion your money is best spent on the Bunnings model for this reason, and furthermore because its better quality as well. Don't get me wrong I love Xiaomi, but there are better alternatives, esp. when purchasing such an expensive item which had known quality issues.

      Also something erks me about a toilet seat needing to connect to Chinese or Singapore Server to set it self up. This is one item that really, really doesn't need IoT and if you do (why?) just use the Bunnings toilet with an IR to Wifi Hub, anyway I digress…

    Did anyone upgrade from Smart Mi Toilet Seat? What’s the water pressure like? Have been rather disappointed by Smart Mi’s jet power compared to ones I used in Japan and Korea.

    Got mine Friday, installed yesterday.

    Put in the front bathroom, which had a number of advantages
    Existing power on the RHS, water on the LHS

    Both of my toilets are Caroma Vintage, appear to have longer bowls. Also there is a fair gap between the cistern and the bowl in my front toilet (they are not attached … because Vintage!)

    This means I can push the seat back as far as I can without the bowl getting in the way of the washer, drying outlets. Even so I recon another 5mm further back would be perfect at the front.

    The app is a bit shite, just use to setup pressure and auto cleaning etc - now just use the buttons on the side - it is nice and simple to use. I have the pressure on high, and it is enough for me - however my mum has a proper Japanese (Hitachi) Bidet which you can turn up so high you would need to strap yourself down.

    Yeah it feels like you are leaning forward a little bit, but I have enough room in front (just) so doesn't worry me

    Good value in my opinion. (eg Hitachi bidets are over $1K) If I can get the wife to use and like I will prob go for a replacement toilet with integrated bidet (Toyo). They have them in the suites at Star Casino. Amazing.

      mind I ask how you add the toilet seat on your mi home app. I can't seem to find the product. My region Is set to "Chinese Mainland" as I can't find "China" as per the instruction manual. Also note I am using an iPhone.

    Hi Shopro,

    I purchased this smart toilet from you guys. I can't seem to find the "Whale Spout Smart Toilet Seat" in the Mi App. Few Issues with the app are as follow

    1) There is no "China" selection under region. Only "Chinese Mainland".
    2) After selecting "Chinese Mainland" as my region and sign in with my account, the "Whale Spout Smart Toilet Seat" cannot be found on the list of products. The closest product I found is the Whale Spout Smart Toilet Zero" which seems to be a different product.

    Anyone here with this toilet seat manage to get the item added onto your Mi Home App? Please let me know.

          Thanks for this but new problem arises.

          I did a reset of the toilet wifi, see it on my phone, but will disconnect after 1 sec of connecting to it. Any idea please?

      I am already using an existing Xiaomi home app for my other Xiaomi products. The region is set to 'Australia', and I can't see 'China', only 'Chinese Mainland'.

      I tried changing to 'Chinese Mainland', but once I login to the app, I can't see my older devices, and when I search for the toilet, I can't see it.

      Any other tips to get this connected to my existing Xiaomi home app? Is there anyway to retain both my existing home and add the new toilet seat? Thanks in advance!

      Edit: I was able to get it to connect using Chinese mainland. Is the only way to use the app to be on the Chinese server? So I won't be able to use all my existing Xiaomi home products simultaneously with the bidet?

    Anyone had the issue where it says "Unable to joint the network xox-toilet-pro_xxxx" ?? This happened to me when I tried to add the toilet seat wifi network just after I reset its wifi.

        I found a solution for my problem. It seems like the toilet wifi struggle when there are any other 5ghz wifi network in the surrounding.

        It worked for me when I switched off all other wifi network and left 1 of the 2.4ghz network for the setup. This worked for me. Let me know if you have any luck doing the same?

          manage to get it working, my Mesh wifi don't have a option to switch off 5Ghz, I essentially had to turn off the wifi entirely, connect to seat, and then quickly turn it back on lol

    Anyone else using the Xiaomi app feel like there's quite a bit of delay when changing options in the app? I'm noticing it lags quite badly sometimes. Wifi connection is decent, the app is reporting 69% signal strength.

    Hi everyone

    I have just ordered one of these (Thanks for the deal Gearbite) and I have one quick question for those that have already bought one.

    Apparently you can control the toilet via an app. Does this mean that if I am feeling evil and I have a guest using the toilet I can remotely control the bidet function :) <evil smile>

      Yes, you could. As long as the guest is sitting on the seat, you can't remotely activate it without someone sitting on it.

    Hi all

    I installed my whale spout today and am very pleased with it.

    I do however have one question. My seat buzzes a bit, sounds like the electric motor. Is there anyway to quieten this down? have others had the same problem?

      This is the air-freshener fan spinning when you sit on the seat. You can manually turn this off in the app. Go to the toilet, then choose the three dots up the top right (…), then turn off 'auto air filter'.

      That should stop the humming.

      I also had a buzzing sound on mine which occasionally came and went away when moving while sitting on it. In my case it sounded more like the “air freshener fan” hitting seat plastics when slightly bending. Maybe you also have the same issue.

      I used two surface protectors from Kmart to make the locking of the seat to the bowl super tight and the buzzing went away permanently and the fan still works. Hope that helps you.

    Anyone have issues with water leaking? I've tightened the connection on the left of the unit, but seeing water leak. It appears to be coming from inside the plastic connection. It slowly drips down ☹️
