        • +10

        • +1

And that was 36 pack, so it kind of evens out.

    • How much more are they normally?

I read it "Free delivery if prime minister". How ironic!

    • +15

That's why they shouldn't cancel schools.

      • -4

Right, we need to be re-indoctrinated at school. First round was not enough.

        • +7

          Indoctrinated with education! Oh no!

The solution to make society better? Seraph's got the answer - don't educate your kids!

          • -1

@Draupnir: Yes, it’s a form of education. School doesn’t only teach math, science & etc.

There is a fair amount of indoctrination done there too. Just most don’t realise or recognise it for what it is. Nor is it accepted to call it out for what it is.

            Education start first at home.

            • @shoppingbag: the 3 r's

              repetition,
              repetition
              repetition.

think for yourself- off to the mental system - the stalags are already here….

        • +6

That's right! Who need reading, writing, maths or science? Up with Poverty!

  • Thanks OP

  • +1

It was like 45 rolls for $20 2 weeks back.

    • +2

      That one not double length

      • +2

It's still more toilet paper and costs less

    • And I got a lot of negs for that one.

      • +1

I bet most regret those negs now. It was good deal

  • +14

Just in time. Had some Mexican last night. Going through the TP at an alarming rate today

    • +1

Going through the TP at an alarming rate today

So you have to seat in the toilet and wait for them to deliver. XD

    • +5

Sit in the shower and make some waffles

    • Ay caramba!

  • +1

    is this the normal price?

    • +8

      is this the normal price?

It is now XD, buy first ask later otherwise you will miss out in a few mins.

      • thanks bought 1.
1$ per roll is not that bad after checking woolies and bigw normal prices.
this is just for the back up as i've already moved on to bidet to accommodate needy people

        • +1

          thanks bought 1.

          See ozbargained.

    • Yes, mate.

    • I bought 42 rolls for $27.50

For those wondering most of Australia's toilet paper is made in Australia, often in the state that it's sold in.

So there is no reason for shortage other than pointlessly hoarding a supply that will last five years.

    • +4

      made in Australia,

Just not enough staff/truck to transport and put it on the shelves.

      • +3

Wait what soggy noodle negged you lol? You're completely correct. It's restocking that's the issue, not manufacturing.

    • Apparently 60% is, so I guess that's most, but is it possible the factory would have to close if staff there test positive for CV-19, even though I concede it's extremely unlikely?

      • about 60% of the brands are, but 90% of the supply is Australian made AFAIK

    • -2

And those sending our goods to China

      • +2

Seriously, considering the shipping charges I am interested to know how someone make money by shipping toilet paper to China. If this is a viable business wouldn't the TP makers do it themselves?

        • +1

It's not viable or profitable. China manufactures huge amounts of TP so it makes zero sense to send it back there, especially considering Australian companies import Chinese-made toilet paper and tissues (e.g. Who Gives a Crap).

          • +3

@deadpoet: This is why I sense BS when I read someone saying people are buying TP from our supermarkets and send it back to China.

    • +2

5 years? I dunno, some of us like to risk it with lactose.
It's a daily gamble with my morning coffee.

    • +1

I havent seen a pack on the shelves since march 4

  • +1

It says EQUAL to 40 rolls.

I mean, my friend works for Woolworth's and there is no Toilet paper! She said VIC is taking it all! LOL

  • Thanks, bought it.

  • +1

    28.47 c per 100 sheets

    • -1

So limit to 28.47c per toilet.

  • +5

    Still 28c/100ss though…

I can remember paying 18c/100ss before all this shit happened! Still have 65 rolls at home from six months back.

    • +1

      Where do you live?

      Just joking! ;) Ha, ha

  • +30

Was tempted to purchase because not sure how long 12 rolls will last in family, but figured someone would need my pack more than me and buy hopefully.

    • Have my upvote good person! NEED MORE LIKE YOU!

This might be helpful to calculate

      • +1

It gives a rough idea, but I don't know the bowel movements of my whole family nor how sparingly they use toilet paper lol.
        Thanks anyway.

  • All gone now, how mad

  • Gone can't add to cart

  • -5

Out of stock? Wanted to buy for the sheer convenience but won't let me add to cart.

    • Yep buying "because" for a product that's having distribution issues ¬¬ good work.

      • -1

Well my 400 rolls aren't going to last forever, are they?

  • Can't add into cart?

  • no stock

  • Seems to be sold out.

  • Can't seem to add it to my cart

  • +1

got it just in time phew.

  • well that was quick.

  • Got a "This item is no longer available from the seller you selected." at checkout 😔 Bum, I'm sorry

  • Wow I could still see it but can't add it into my cart anymore
That was fast 12 minutes posted wow

  • +1

WTF cant a guy get some TP ffs

  • -5

and now its all on it's way to China

    • +10

Chinese laughing at this comment because there's no shortage of anything in supermarkets in China

      • Except viruses 😷, oops thought U said wetmarkets

      • Shortage of freedom maybe?

    • +8

This is not true. Friends from China who stayed with us over a year ago heard about the TP craziness and genuinely wanted to send us their TP that they had. We declined as the postage for the bulkiness of TP would have costed way more.

      • +1

I was offered some too but are shipments even still happening given the current lockdown of our borders?

        • +1

Deliveries aren't considered non-essential was my interpretation.

          • @lomie: Oh… my AliExpress parcels from China are still stuck at China's borders though. Hence why I assumed they might not be happening…
Might call up Au post and ask for an update then, thanks!

            • @diazepam: Parcel from our friends have arrived in under a week but it was airmail.

  • Still in stock for me
Friend just bought one (after this was marked as OOS)

  • I click buy or add to cart and nothing ?

  • -4

Looks like it is the regular price and is now out of stock?

  • +3

    Gone? Ozbargained?

  • Thanks, OP you are my bum saver.

  • Got in time. Thanks OP

  • +3

I haven’t been hoarding TP but seeing it selling out online is making me anxious.

  • +2

Serious… I saw it…and for the life of me decided to Try Prime and took me 2 mins to sign up to Prime and it's bloody gone…..

  • +1

Was on the computer and didn't check OzBargain. FML! :(

Coronavirus: Toilet roll alternatives blocking sewers XD

  • i've ran out of toilet paper. i guess i'll just have to use my $5 notes now.

    • Go buy some A5 notebook….

    • +10

good thing is Australia use plastic notes, so you can wash and reused them

    • Polymer notes are not effective in removing…shit.

And its $5 per wipe not really an ozbargain way to do it.

      Here are the free alternatives,
      your hand
      Dead leaves
Free newspaper or ads (non laminated/non gloss paper)
      Washable silicon mould
Diy bidet with water pipes (points to bunnings)
      Plastic bags

Will think of more if you need more suggestions😅
