nevermind done? what is this i dont even

        • sorry… you missed the fun :)

        • a ninja edit happened :P

  • Would have been good if it was from anywhere else other than centrecom. I rather shop elsewhere.

Why is that? I bought the T420 deal off them this week and couldn't be happier with their service. They sent it when they said they would and by who they said would deliver it (TNT). Compare that to MLN who, sell stuff they don't have, or don't send it when they say they will, or send it through Auspost when they say TNT (before they recently changed their website)…and no comparison. I sincerly hope your "elsewhere" isn't MLN

      • See below, not sure why are you dragging MLN into this and I couldn't care less for either.

        • Because I was giving a personal comparison from my experiences dealing with two very similar companies. Thanks for the links, I'll read through them after work.

    • Reason?
Quite a few happy customers here, including me and my friends (purchased 4 in total in last 3 weeks :) ).
      Not a single problem yet.

    • centrecom is pretty good from my experience, the toll-ipec lost my order, they rekon the left it at my door :P centrecom checked it out, was going to replace the order but had no stock, full refund the next day, very easy to communicate with :)

Nice price, but damn IBM still make some ugly looking laptops!!

    • +1

Luckily this is a lenovo not IBM :p

      • +1

Bleh, one in the same, especially from a style POV.

    • yep.. this is the ugly lenovo design, not the ibm thinkpad T series design. :)

      • Thats no icandy either imo.

        • +1

you icandy doesn't have a deal on ozbargains. boo ya!

  • i think the t420 deal was much better :D

      As you correctly mentioned "WAS"…
Unfortunately it is no longer available, this one is pretty good too.

need to clarify if i have 5 days to send the coupon or whatever

    Nice offer :)

ThinkPad L-series is a bit like the Edge series inside, except uglier, hmm, I mean more of a "business look".

    • +1

"Business look". I like that. I know a couple of people who go for the "business look"….

Does it bother anyone else that the cashback is actually a pre-paidcreditcardback?

  • Dupe? This was posted ages ago.

    http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/51013

    • yes and no. I saw that before posting.. Only the price is the same.. specs different. the current one has 8GB, previous one is 4GB. the current one is available to walk in customers too.

      • Oh, I must have missed that. Fair enough.

  • $499 is good deal, but $300 cash back its easy cheat as many condition apply. why can not only pay $499 ?

    • +1

Because not everyone remembers to apply

I bought the T520 from Centrecom 3 weeks ago. Delivery was very fast and I dont care about the quality of Centrecom service, since it came with 3 years IBM warranty - not that I have an opinion on Centecom service, I just dont need it since IBM supply the next business day onsite warranty and support.

I was cautious about the cashback - the deal I had was pay $1200, get $600 cashback. I was able to submit my cashback claim the day I paid for the laptop - they emailed me my invoice. I completed the claim online and received a validation email a few days later. The cashback is in the form of a visacard, which suits me fine.

    • Actually it's Lenovo warranty but, nevertheless, they are still fantastic.

      • +1

I spoke to an IBM rep when I tested my warranty status.
"Important for all customers of IBM to know: IBM will provide warranty service and support and financing and leasing options for PC products from the new Lenovo."

        • Oh ok.
