  • Will they charge a Dell XPS?

    Edit: NVM saw the jack comment.

    20% off Storewide

    What's the point when you jack your prices up before the sale? This adapter was jacked up from $59.35 just before this eBay PMID20 coupon went live.

    Same goes for your previous post

    • Can't support the jacking out of principle

    When you say AU plug, does it mean the charger unit/fold out prongs fit the Australian plug shape, or is that an extra adapter is provided (i.e. unit/fold out prongs are actually US shape, and another 3rd party block has to be added on top to convert to AU)

      I have this and it's an American plug.

      • Thanks!

      Their pictures cleverly hide the plug prongs. I had the same question.

      I have this and bought it from this seller. It's fold-out 2 prong american plug, but ships with the australian plug head connected to it (when you say third party I assume you mean socket adaptors - this removeable plug head appears made specifically for this product - fits well, same colour, preinstalled). With the prongs folded in the aussie plug sort of "docks" to the main body of the unit. When connected to the aussie plug the main body of the charger is "upside down" when connected to a wall socket. This means that the charger won't dsconnect from the adaptor piece in use (it fits tightly anyway and the live pins of the adaptor are recessed quite far in) so it is electrically safe.

    I think I'd prefer a desktop charger
    Cheaper, more ports

    Bit otherwise this looks similar, come with actual UK/US/AU plugs and is a few buck cheaper on Amazon

    • I'd love to see the ZMI one come back again, missed that one.

    • Thanks!

    • That one seems to lack QC3.0

      • Correct, it is also limited to 12W max across all 3 type-a ports, even if the type-c isn't being used. So its either 0-60WPD + 0-12W type a (not even 1 amp each port if all in use) and no other combinations. That's what turned me off the Choe-tech - most of the time it wasn't going to meet my usecase - charging a high draw device (laptop (in future), mi pro powerbank or switch) while also fast charging my phone or bluetooth headphones at 15-18W, and occasionally a low power device (kindle, shaver when travelling). That and you have the extra cable coming off it which can be messy and make it larger to pack.

    Hey guys I have this exact model from this seller and will provide my thoughts and experiences with the item and the seller. Use them as you wish, hopefuly it's helpful. Purchased from CodeXd's deal.

    Item: one in the deal
    Price: $47.96 (was $59.95 on listing, I had some sort of eBay coupon code (not a plus credit/coucher) and held plus at the time)
    Shipping time to CBR: 4 days, on time
    Purchase Date: 12/12/19 12pm (Thurs)
    Shipping Date: Same day, got the eBay email saying it was shipped 12/12/19 11pm
    Arrived at local post office (Canberra): 16/12/19 520pm (ready for pickup email) (Mon)

    Have had this one for just over 3 months and use it as my "daily driver" charger and have used it when travelling domestically. I use it daily to charge my phone and powerbanks or bluetooth headphones.

    It supports usb-c PD and QC3.0 on the usb-a port closest to the type-c port, as well as "i-smart" - ravpower proprietary amperage regulation (up to 5V 2.4A) on the second type-a port.

    Outputs are (total max 65W):
    * type-c - max 65W - 5V/3A, 9V/3A, 12V/3A, 15V/3A, 20V/3.25A
    * type-a-qc - max 18W - 3.6-6V/3A, 6-9V/2A, 9-12V/1.5A
    * type-c-ismart - max 12W - 5V/2.4A

    I've used it to charge my phone (Samsung A20) and it quick charges on the qc3.0 port and pd port. I've also used the type-c port with pd to power my nintendo switch while docked, with both joycons in use and the dock outputting to hdmi while connected to wifi - i.e. full power draw from the switch, with no issues. I've also used the "ismart" type-a port to charge dumb/low power devices such as a philips usb rechargeable portable shaver and my old kindle paperwhite with no issues. It appears to fast charge my xiaomi powerbank pro 3 at the top speed of 45W (I don't have a power meter, just going by timing).
    I don't own any laptops that have type-c charging so can't comment there.

    It has 100-240V input voltage so can be used overseas with the right adaptors (or in America/parts of Japan out of the box). It comes with an Australian plug head that connects to the folded in USA pins. This has been done in what I deem to be a safe way (when plugged into the wall the body of the charger is on top of the plug head, i.e. it will not be dragged out of the head by gravity exposing live connectors).

    I have no idea how to get some plug head adaptors for this for other parts of the world but would be interested - rep hit me up!

    Overall pretty bloody happy with this bit of kit. My main criticism is the amount of research I had to do on it before buying - the images and details in the listing were inconsistent - some showed blue type-a port (QC), some didn't, listing said QC and I couldn't find any info about it on the RavPower websites when looking up the model. In the end I found a reference to it on some sort of middle east RavPower website and took a punt as I had free returns with plus. In the end it worked out well.

    I was finding it near impossible to find a charger that did usb-pd above 30W (and this does 65W!) that also had qc3.0 and more than 1 or 2 ports. Price jacking and the seller aside, I reckon this is the one to buy. The only other options I found that I was confident wouldn'tburn my house down, was the dhintaro/mbeat desktop charger which was $80 + postage at the time, or the Satechi desktop charger (1 type c, 2 type a) for $95 from JB. This was the cheapest and most portable/compact one in the list. I'd go with this one, the Satechi 2 port type c if you need 2 type c ports at once (laptop + another device?), or the shintaro/mbeat dekstop charger if you need 1 type c port and will use the 80W output and 5 usb-a ports.

    I checked out everything in the RavPower, Anker, Choe-tech, Aukey and kogan ranges and found nothing else except the Anker Power port atom 4 pd at ~$100USD which I was not willing to pay. If you only want 30W PD there are tons of options, and a couple more at 45W, but 60W and above there still isn't much on the market.
