  Note that "good" condition is their lowest and includes

  visible scratches on the screen, scratches on the outer shell/back casing, small dents to the frame.

  You know apparently this is "typical" for a phone used for 18-36 months. I've had my Pixel 2 XL for over 2 years and it still looks brand new.

    I had mine for 23 months and it was perfect - and then there was a bad drop which took a chunk and it all went to shit. Now every time I drop it or treat it rough it goes a bit more. Got a good two years out of it now.

  I expect the battery life on these phones will be about 12 seconds (and even less when taking photos/flash photography).

    battery on my two year old 2XL is still pretty good, get a day out of it without using it too much

      The battery life of the original pixels and just the Pixel 2 were VERY bad though, the P2XL was pretty damn good battery wise.

      My wifes nexus 6P battery lasted almost exactly 1 year before having problems. Although I think it was a widespread issue.

      A guy from work has the original pixel and his battery wasn't great (after 2-3 years). They do get worse over time.

      My Pixel 2 XL is still going strong too. Usually 1 charge a night, but couldn't probably last 2 days with gentle use.

  If they were cheaper I'd take a chance using them as webcams via NDI but these are like 50 bucks on eBay.

  I've bought multiple pixel 1, $149 isn't a particularly good price for a second hand one. I paid $90 for one earlier this year.

        Trade ins are normally much lower than reality though. It said I could only get $30 or so for my iPad from (late) 2012 and I ended up getting $100.

  You don't wanna touch a used Pixel 1. Who knows what the battery is like, and no one will replace the battery because it's a difficult job and they cannot guarantee that the phone will still work.

    Actually the biggest concern with the Pixel 1 is motherboard death. Mine started freezing then crashing into restart last week. Googled around, it is unsalvageable unless you do a motherboard change out.
