      Which one did you get?

      • Went for the AT9920 – Stereo Condenser Mini Boundary Microphone since I do heaps of online meetings.

    • Did you manage to receive one? The entry was still open days after I entered, then I was told it was too late and it was first in first served…
Seems either the site was crappy or they were simply fishing for personal info.

    • +3

Lots of people trying to get one when they don't need it.

Forgetting which website you are on are we?

What is this this need you speak so highly off? This is OzB.

      • @xoom: Indeed it is OZB, which is also a place of information for those in "actual" need.
There are times (like these) when goods are offered for those in need as a gesture of good will and NOT for greedy people who just take and take without any consideration for others in need.

  • -3

    Yay got the shotgun mic.
    My first freebie for 2020

    Why shotgun mic?….sounds powerful lol

    Ozbargain hug of death

    • I got through, but by the time I filled out the form and tried to submit it, it crashed again. sigh

      • +1

Keep refreshing the page so that your browser asks you if you want to submit the form again.

      • Keep reloading

  • +10

I know this is ozbargain but can I suggest you don't try get 100 with fake phone numbers and emails and then cry "Worst company ever" when they require mobile verification.

  • +1

    Damn it, nice gesture though

  • Thanks, tried my luck :) would actually be really good having one of those boundary mics for my conference calls.

    • I gave up. I got to the form, but can't submit it without crashing -.-

      • +4

It asked if i wanted to resubmit the form when I refreshed after clicking submit, so I kept trying that and it ended up with a page saying "Thanks for contacting us! We will get in touch with you shortly."

If I don't get it, no hard feelings for the good gesture :)

        • +1

Thanks. I did the same and eventually got the 'thanks for contacting us' message as well.

  • +4

Bit of a bizarre selection of microphones considering the circumstances?

Don't get me wrong, I'm thankful for the freebie, but I imagine the vast majority of users are people who need single person desktop microphones, for work meetings.

I don't imagine there are many photographers that can't work because they don't have a camera mountable microphone; nor is there much reason for a multi-person conference mic - isn't the point to avoid gathering with other people? The pin-on lapel one I suppose makes the most sense for the average user, and content creators I suppose.

I'm imagining a bunch of people either picking up their fridge humming across the house with the conference mic, or blu-tacking the shotgun to their desktop.

    • -1

I want to blu-tac the shotgun mic to the top of my monitor. Should make a good gaming mic.

    • Agreed. USB microphones would be more useful, for connecting to business laptops, most of which don’t have 3.5mm mic inputs.

  • +6

watch these all pop up on ebay tomorrow

    • +3

      Fleabay.. scumtree.. same stinking lowlife.
