Easter Sale & Free Delivery @ Scorptec

11113

Hey everyone, first time poster here.

Just noticed Scorptec are doing free delivery across their website! Offer lasts until Monday, alongside some Easter product specials.

I've noticed some PC parts aren't available till mid-year so get in quick before anymore supply issues hit.

EDIT: There has been quite a few comments about the price jacking on PC parts on Scorptec, it should be noted this isn't exclusive to Scorptec and other retailers like PCCG have also seen price hikes in the past week. Items such as GPU's and monitors in particular have seen a large price increase, with other items like RAM and SSD's still holding their original value.

While it may not be the cheapest website to buy on regularly they do have current and available stock compared with other sites like MSY. This seems to be part of the course with the computing industry, whether its supply related or intentional price fixing it isn't the first time this has happened. GPU prices went to the moon during the bitcoin craze and RAM prices were also extortionately high around 2017/18 when the manufacturers were price fixing. Considering the current climate and supply chain issues we will see more of this sort of pricing to come.

Scorptec are 'Ted's Cameras' of PC retailing.

Overpriced, almost never any deals, and have been around for years.

    • People pay more for their customer service.

Their processing and delivery times are insanely fast, i just ordered a bunch of stuff from different stores due to stock shortages and my Scorptec order beat the others here by days.

Yeah they are usually slightly more expensive than others on most items but i'm glad they are around cause they usually have stock when others don't.

A bit misleading as he prices have gone up in order to offer the "not so free" delivery.

    rip arty

Scorptec has never been the cheapest. Now with jacking in the mix, you are just asking to be stung.

have to pay extra for parcel damage insurance?

    no thanks

yeah that's a bit weird, doesn't matter if it is with AusPost or a courier, it's still $7.

  • Ouch, just ordered from them on Thursday and paid the huge postage.

Prices of what I was looking at have gone up everywhere in the last few weeks due to the AUD fall :\ I'd expect lots of things at every store to be up lots unless they're still selling old stock and haven't adjusted prices yet.

    • Would you have been better waiting for the free postage or did you get a better price with the "huge postage." ?

      • Prices did not change. They're more than a couple of weeks ago, but so was every other store I looked at.

  • Thanks Op, some people a bit sour it seems but going through a PC build at the moment, they had what I wanted in stock, others might be slightly cheaper but for free shipping which is often the killer it is very welcomed.

  • So with all the negativity on price (understandable, this is Ozbargain, price first!).
Which store should I look to? that has stock in place, I'm in Melbourne, would prefer to pickup rather than wait another week in between for processing and delivery?though open to options if they are cheap enough

With forced annual leave and wfh, thinking about upgrading first time in 8 years, might as well take advantage of tax deductions before year end

My favourite and first choice is PLE, they have the best customer service of all the pc retailers I've used and the prices are only a bit higher than..

MSY, which is the goto for consistantly cheap brick amd mortar. Customer service ranges from acceptable to down right dodgy depending on the store.

      • isn't MSY closing up?

        • They closed a few stores but are still alive and well.

Their stock levels right now are abysmal though, can't get anything from my local one.

      • Definitely PLE for service and range if needed. They even got some custom water cooling parts from Bitspower for me that they don't even stock. Special ordered it when they did their regular order from Bitspower and charged me even less than the US stores were selling it for. Kept me informed the whole way. Can't recommend them enough

  • Ordered from them last week. Thought I missed out on a good deal by not waiting. Turns out I only paid $10 more than I would have due to them increasing prices.

Prices gone up. So sad to see this from a retailer I bought from just a weeks ago - will avoid in future

    Price jacking

  • I don't think it deserves a neg. Whilst a lot of their prices are extortionate, they have a few items on sale that are cheaper than anywhere else.

  • I bought a case that was the listed as same price last week and saved $55 on shipping. So I say that's a good deal (if it all arrives in one piece).

  • Thanks OP, picked up a 5700XT for a good price.

    achew
    'scuse me

  • Gadget Guy spoke about this a while back:
    https://www.gadgetguy.com.au/a-little-advice-on-price-buy-te…

    • True on the 14th of march but the dollar is back up at 0.63 and should rise with the current US position I would wait for at least 2 months and things should come back to normal.

  • Free shipping didn't work for me. Also, I messaged their FB page - they said they won't get back to me til tomorrow.

I received free shipping but Australia post lost my package. They declared it lost a few days ago.

    • Damn, sorry to hear that! My $350 PC case was sitting somewhere for 2 weeks - after I put an online inquiry in to Aus Post, it finally got moving and was delivered.
Funny enough, that same case now costs about $50 more..
