Not as great of a price as it used to be but considering the current state of things I thought people might want it anyway. Enjoy.

  • Than you so much, grabbed one finally.

  • Can you pop the lid off an refill this small bottle?

    • +3

      I think you can.

    • +3

      Yes you can.

    • +3

      Yep very easy to refill.

    • +5

Yes, just turn the top anti-clockwise to remove.
We've been using these to refill.

  • Finally got one

  • +3

Got one. But not looking forward to the massive box it will come in.

    • +10

My daughter loves them. One arrived this morning with kitchen towel & is currently becoming an aircraft for her to fly to the moon in :) A gift for crafty kids.

      • Years ago when we were moving interstate, I had a large packing box over when the removalists had left. I turned it into a teddy house with simple windows and door. Kept my hyperactive toddler busy and amused for the rest of the day, even though most toys had left. I was far too busy to help decorate etc. but he got to work with his own designs. Left it with neighbours children to play with afterwards. A simple cardboard box can be turned into a multitude of things; sky's the limit!

  • Thank you, finally got one!

  • +15

Kogan is selling this for only $14.99 plus delivery. They should be ashamed of calling themselves an Aussie company!

    • +1

      Geez. Disgraceful.

    • +1

      Wtf

    • +1

That's Gerry Harvey kind of Aussie capitalism. Capitalise on every "opportunity"!

    • +1

Support Aussie businesses, just pay a premium of 500%.

    • +1

There's a website where you can report these people.

  • bought one, thanks!

    • +6

Have you got a source on that? Other than out of your ass.

      • +1

Yes most of the Dettol branded sanitiser and cleaning products are actually made in China with a secondary supply chain in Thailand.
        https://imgur.com/QqEhDyT

Wuhan produces a lot of medical supplies, including the manufacturing contracts for Dettol.

I'm asking people to support local business as our economy needs it.

        • +1

It depends where it is sourced from. The one I have is made in India with no imported components. I had purchased it from India though.

  • I swear I have never ordered one of these from Amazon ever and they wouldn't let me buy one. :(

  • Looks like a deal but unsure about the volume.

    https://www.amazon.com.au/Sanitizer-Workplace-Alcohol-free-M…

    • Looks home made

    • 60ml. pretty pricey.

    • +3

That one is alcohol free and will not protect against a coronavirus.

      • +4

Only useful then as a gift for your MIL.

    • +1

Watch out for those 3rd party sellers. Most of them send from overseas.

      • +1

        Yep, dodgy as f

Trying to make a buck from a pandemic

        • +1

I bought a box of mask like 3 months ago. Listed as a well know Australian brand. A random brand was sent from india. Amazon doesnt want to get involved, you have to work it out with the 3rd party seller.

          • @sfk10: I have ordered some masks from Millers… still waiting. Wby cannot we make our own masks here? I wouldn't mind paying a little extra for "Australian Made."

Why do so many people need so much hand sanitiser out of curiosity? Since I can't even go anywhere these days I have very limited need for them. If anything hand wash is what I need more of because I wash my hands regularly at home.

Understand if you don't work from home or if you work in essential services.

    • +1

Same. Need handwash more and they are maybe the hardest thing to buy now more than TP.

    • +8

Trips to supermarkets/chemist/doctors/petrol stations etc still need to be undertaken despite being in lockdown.

These are the times I use sanitiser.

    • +1

      exactly lol

    • +1

I work in public transport and cant find the stuff quick enough.

  • +3

Can't believe an Amazon Dettol deal lasted so long.

    • 19K clicks! I guess they had a lot in stock and the 1 per person limit made it last longer.

  • +1

FYI for anyone who is keen, I've just made my own for less than $20/ litre following the WHO recipie for 80% ethanol sanitiser.
These guys have stock of ethanol:
    https://www.ethanolfireplacefuel.com.au/buy-fuel-online.

(I hit up ebay for the rest of the ingredients)

(Be safe if you try it- ethanol and its fumes are highly flammable)

Here's the link to the complete WHO guide for anyone interested:

    https://www.who.int/gpsc/5may/Guide_to_Local_Production.pdf

As I said, be safe- last thing hospitals need right now is people hurting themselves.
    :)

    • +3

The good thing with dettol is that it has a gel consistancy :) Easier to use and carry in the pocket.

    • +2

(Be safe if you try it- ethanol and its fumes are highly flammable enjoyable)

    • Does that include the postage you paid with all those ingredients?

  • +1

Why was this free for me? I have Prime

    • +1

You may have received a $5 voucher, either for a cancelled order by Amazon, late delivery or even emailing customer service about an issue

  • The private sector failing to protect the population again while ripping them off at the same time.

  • +3

I see on the Amazon listing it is indicated for dry lips. Think I’ll have to return my bottle. I needed it for hands.

  • +1

    so expensive lol….

  • +3

$20 a litre gets negs but $70 a litre you all in love. You lot are a moody bunch.

    • +1

It's because it's Dettol and convenient?

      • -1

        I don't think there's any Dettol in it tho…?

  • Well this place went down the drain.

  • +1

Thanks, ordered one for a relative, she specifically wanted a Dettol one.

Personally I think they are all the same. Costco has Careline Care Touch 200ml bottle, $6 each, limit 8 bottles.

  • Showing in-stock currently.

  • I wonder if they will still shop this in full padded large Amazon boxes :D

  • Still available, got one for myself.

  • Although this one is expensive, I love the ones with the belt clip that I used to buy before the virus…
    https://static.chemistwarehouse.com.au/ams/media/pi/92946/2D…

  • Very quick shipping for my flatmate - ordered yesterday, arrived today. Mine's yet to be dispatched and I ordered mine the day before.

  • +1

It’s $3 at chemist warehouse, picked up my one pack and off I went

  • Back in stock, but I won't buy it. Filling up from work for free whenever I run out. :D

  • +2

Just got it delivered. To my surprise and disappointment, it didn't come in a comically large cardboard box but a appropriately sized padded envelope.

    • +3

Yeah, Amazon packaging can be ridiculous sometimes. I get they want customer satisfaction, but I had toilet paper delivered in an insanely oversized box with insane lengths of air padding (for toilet paper!).

  • +2

Amazon notified me that they can't send it to me but haven't specified why. That's okay they've given me $10 credit.

    • That's okay they've given me $10 credit.

Nice, you can now buy more overpriced ones :P

      • +1

Yup I'll just keep a 5l in my car and to carry around the workplace for convenience.

    • Me too. I know everyone is saying there isn't a shortage, and it's on shelves everywhere, but not in Tasmania; I really wanted that little bottle of sanitiser. I'd happily give them back the $10 credit if they'd send me the sanitiser.

  • price dropped to $2.99
