Amino Z Hand Sanitiser 1L $19.95 ea + $5 Back in Store Credit ea (Free Delivery 4+ Units, Else $9.99) - More Available @ Amino Z

May 6 Updates:

  • All orders now shipping within 1 day.
  • Our customer service team is about 2 days behind on emails and are doing their best to catch up (all are doing overtime and we have just hired more people too).
  • Thank you EVERYONE for your patience and overwhelming support while we have been scrambling to get these orders out.

Deal Notes:

In case you're unfamiliar with Amino Z, we're a supplement manufacturer/retailer. And now we're making hand sanitiser in our facility (who'd have guessed). All the obvious reasons why with the gyms being closed.

We are again doing this completely in-house. There's no importing of product and everything is local (ingredients, labour and packaging). Frankly we're just making basic, no-frills hand sanitiser. This is the TGA COVID-19 formulation.

Here's the rundown:

  • It's in an ugly plastic jerry container (We found these after literally days of hunting down containers)
  • I personally created the sticker in Photoshop (Hence why no-frills as this represents the extent of my graphics design skills. As a side note, I am still very jealous of the artwork skills of some of the distilleries.)
  • It's 80% ethyl alcohol (ethanol) with distilled water and propylene glycol (1.45% v/v) and hydrogen peroxide (0.125% v/v). This has been updated as per the TGA guidelines for the COVID-19 pandemic here. This is a slightly viscous liquid formula and is not a gel.
  • It's 100% Australian: We make it in Sydney. Ingredients are all Australian sourced. The bottles are manufactured in Victoria. The labels are printed in Queensland.

The deal is $19.95 each (that's for 1 Litre). Order 4 or more and get free shipping, otherwise shipping is $9.99 Australia Wide (or you can pickup for free).

Plus you'll get $5 back as store-credit per unit. It will be credited to your email once the order ships out and can be used as a discount on any future purchase. Perhaps some added motivation to get back to the gym when they reopen? :)

Orders will now ship within 1 day.

As compared to when we initially launched the deal on April 14th, our cost prices have gone up as I've had to scramble to find more ingredients. However since there will be a slightly longer lead time than last time, I figure it's only fair to keep the deal identical. Plus the previous experience was terrible for some people who spent hours trying to purchase, I cannot in good faith increase this price for all of those who missed out. Instead the only change is that we're accepting credit card (MC/VISA/AMEX) payment directly (using eWay) as to avoid the higher fees of other payment processors (ie. cut out the middle man so we can still make this feasible).

I am aware there have been a number of hand sanitiser deals on Ozbargain lately. I'm hoping that this represents good value given the costs of the components we had to source. Happy to answer any questions!

    • …probably cosmetic quality product…..

  • getting stuck on place order now

i guess the 2000 units are gone by now

    • The server was down for a while actually and now orders are going through once again (slowly).

      • Jay
  • woah I got to checkout but it wont finish loading lol

    • Same :(

    • same

    • Sorry about this. People are placing orders now, it's just very slow at the moment.

      • Jay
  • OP: The total number of packs you have manufactured is 2000, however the clicks up until now are > 1000. Not to mention your regular clients and it appears that it will be out of stock soon.

    • The server was down for quite a while and so we haven't actually sold out yet. It will sell out soon at the current rate FYI.

      • Jay
  • Whats the expiry on this?

    • I would be conservative and assume 2 years if it's stored correctly (container sealed, dark cool place).

      • Jay
  • You guys need to get on Shopify. Magento Commerce is terrible.

    • +1

The issue with the cloud based stores like Shopify is you lose control of your store and also trust your customer data to a third party. That said if you can't afford the development and server resources to run a Magneto storefront then the cloud based offerings are the best bet for the security of your customers and uptime of your store.

      • 99% of ecommerce stores would be better off on Shopify. Don't take my word for it though, one of the biggest retailers in Australia uses Shopify (JB-Hifi). The whole development and server argument for eCommerce is tired. Brand equity and marketing is where most ecommerce should be dedicating their time and capital.

        • +1

I've been both running ecommerce websites and developing them for customers for 15 years and while I think most smaller stores are better served with a cloud platform there are still many clients I've served where that just isn't a possibility for all kinds of reasons.

Also the only reason that JB Hifi could use something like Shopify for the features they'd need is because they'd be on Shopify Plus which is a minimum of $2000 a month (but JB Hifi is probably paying a revenue based model) probably only because they are not confident enough in their own management to run it in house for whatever reason. Most major e-commerce retailers in Australia would be using Magneto I can assure you. The reason is simple too, you aren't restricted to what a third party tells you can do. What big retailer would accept being forced to use their exorbitant payment methods for example? That's 0.5%+ right off the bottom line which could be the difference between profit and loss of the whole operation.

    • Times like this Shopify would be good. But yes Magento is a very heavy build and hasn't helped us out today.

  • Thanks OP, ordered 1. Do you sell small dispenser bottles too?

  • site crashed

    • It's working, just slowly. Orders are being processed at present.

      • Jay
  • 10938 clicks now they going to be back ordered for sure

    • A lot of these clicks where when the website crashed. There is still stock available. The website is still however very slow I'm sorry.

      • Jay
  • Yep, crashed for me as well.

    • The site is taking orders now, it is however very slow I'm afraid.

      • Jay
  • How does this compare to isopropyl alcohol?

    • The formulation is as per the TGA formulation which does state that you can use either (at differing percentages). However I'm sorry I cannot comment on a direct comparison between the two.

  • Order went through #1095332XX ! Got an email from Paypal, and just got the Order confirmation too.

    • Woohoo!!! Thanks for the order pinchies!!

      • Jay
  • Website not working. Vendor should fix the site first before posting any deal.

    • Site was working when deal was posted. It just got hammered.

    • Yes sorry, website was working perfectly until we received thousands of hits within minutes. It's coming back on, it's just slow now, but orders are processing. Sorry for the problems.

Anyone in North Brisbane, I'll buy one off you for $20 if you do a bulk order. Ta!

  • +2

I think trying to get an order through (2+ hours) has taken more time off my life than Coronavirus ever will.

    • I'm so sorry about this fatboy74. I've lost a few years myself just from the stress of getting this thing back online!! It is working now, just slowly.

      • Jay
  • about to give up.. anyone in Perth have a spare one willing to buy one.. sigh

    • Sorry robbyrob, but thanks for the upvote. The website is processing orders and we're seeing a high volume go through at present. Pages are just a bit slow to load right now.

I bought 40L of Isopropyl last year. 5L bottles. I paid like $20 each ($160 total for 40L). Seeing Ebay auctions reaching $500 per 5L bottle, insane. It's like buying a shitcoin in 2017.

  • They need to post this deal on Amazon AU website without site crashed! Their server is hopeless.

    • Sorry KOBH yes we just didn't have the proper scalability in place to accommodate for this spike in traffic. The website is functional now and orders are going through. Sorry for the trouble.

      • Jay
  • Wow.. took me 2hrs but finally got the order through.

Website seems to be loading a little quicker now if anyone wants to try again.

    • so in the checkout its loading.. do i let it load or hit refresh once in a while?

      • tried 30 mins and can't place my order …:) :)

      • If the checkout is thinking for minutes, it may be worth reloading the page. But I'd leave it for at least a few minutes as it is likely lag.

        • Jay
        • THanks for the reply. I just got timedout on the paypal page.. trying a second time now

          • +1

@WhereThouArt: If you continue to have issues, shoot over a PM and Vanessa can help out. Really sorry about this.

            • Jay
      • I just let the site keep loading as long as it looked like it was.

Once it died or hit the cloudflare screen, I hit reload.

Took many many attempts but it went through.

    • +1

Hey thanks for the order and the persistence!! So sorry about the issues, our server has been completely hammered with this spike.

      • Jay
      • Won't even load the checkout page for 5 minutes and timeout. Gave up!

        • Same. Wanted it for my work in child safety.

  • Why is there no hydrogen peroxide in the formula? For a 10L bottle, WHO recommends:

    Isopropyl alcohol 99.8%: 7515 ml
    Hydrogen peroxide 3%: 417 ml
    Glycerol 98%: 145 ml

You guys might want to add some H202

    • +1

Hydrogen Peroxide is added to kill of any bacteria that might be present during HOMEMADE formulation, You could argue that commercial production would be at a level of sanitation where the possibility of bacteria is not an issue.

    • +2

The formulation has been revised FYI based on the feedback provided by some people. We've revised it to be as per the TGA guidelines.

    • Well ive bought protein powders from them before and they do mix their own blends (they offer a DIY mixer page online so you can add and subtract any component you want from the powder mix so long as they offer it). In some mixes, they come out cheaper than buying the brand name ones either from Chemist Warehouse or even from them or other retailers.

  • thanks mate…
and your website is really slow now… :)

    • Pleasure! And yes sorry about the site, oh boy we did not expect the onslaught of traffic.

      • Jay
  • Hi Jay,

I have tried twice so far without success. When I attempt to pay via PayPal, it fails and gives me a Magneto screen to send a message. I hope this message will allow me to make the purchase when the website is up and running, I was ordering a large number, so it might be due to that. Before people jump on me it was for several others, who are not internet savvy. I prefer to just buy my own, but in times like these it’s good to help others even though it becomes a logistical nightmare.

    Regards

    • Hi Eisa01 could you send through a PM to us? Vanessa might be able to help you out. Otherwise I'd suggest trying again because we are seeing orders go through. I'm terribly sorry for the inconvenience though, our servers are really struggling. It will likely subside over the coming hours.

      • Jay
      • Thanks Jay, I will try again later.

  • +1

After ~ 2 hours it simply blanked on the PayPal step and kicked me to the front page, when I check order history the order is there but it shows a status of "Pending Payment", with no clear way how to pay manually. I think it's time to give up :(.

    • Sorry about this mrcherry, it's due to the current traffic volume that we're not used to on our website as we were ill-prepared for this response. I'd suggest to try a little later or pay by CC which takes less steps than PayPal. Sorry again for the trouble.

      • Jay
  • Won't be buying as I've made my own using the WHO formula which is similar to the TGA one, but props to OP for selling these at a reasonable price!

    • All good and thanks for the positive feedback!

      • Jay
  • it's $27.95 now?

    • +1

You have to add the coupon code displayed here at checkout and it will bring down the price to $19.95.

  • +2

such a good price, but I can only imagine people re-label these and sell for a profit at $40 a litre

  • Would love just to see the stats you'd get on how hard the website is being hit!

  • As described site was very slow to load but it got there eventually. Thanks :)

    • Cool thanks for the order and the upvote too! So sorry for the trouble in ordering!

      • Jay
  • How do you get past the checkout?

    • If the checkout keeps thinking for minutes, refresh the screen. We are still seeing a high volume of orders going through, but they are being processed.

      • Jay
    • How do you get past the checkout?

Come back at 3am when everyone are asleep.

  • Awww went to my shopping cart to add the code and cloudfare screen :(

    • Sorry ozchristoday. We are seeing orders being processed, but you may need to refresh the page again and wait for it. There is still stock available. I would expect traffic to subside a little in the next few hours too.

      • Jay
  • Thanks OP.. Ordered successfully… but a little curious if you haven't crossed 2000 orders after nearly 14k clicks…

    • +1

Thanks for the order! Well the website crashed for over an hour and many of these clicks are from people who couldn't place an order during that time, or even now as the website lags. We are seeing orders coming in now however and will be reaching that number soon.

      • Jay
  • It's almost impossible to place the order. Once the forms are filled out, the PayPal window never shows up and I'm redirected to the main page :(

    • A lot of people are having issues with PayPal. I'd suggest using credit card as this seems to be more reliable. I'm terribly sorry for the experience.

      • Jay
      • Thanks… Just wondering. Do you have an email address where PayPal payment can be sent directly?

    • 6th time and i've given up. So tired of punching all the details in. The onestepcheckout has 3 ajax form parts; so 3 page requests. Unfortunately poor interface design.

I would assume given we have sent 14k worth of clicks there that they would have sold out if it was functioning. It's a bit of pot luck if you will get an order in at this stage :(.

  • Ordered successfully. Took awhile but got there in the end.

    Cheers OP! Great price.

    • Thanks for the order! So sorry for the experience though.

      • Jay
  • Finally got in after 10 tries! Was going to use PayPal but that kept failing so went straight to CC and it worked.

Fingers cross I didnt miss out after all of that trial and error.

    • Thanks for the order! And thanks for the persistence, so sorry about the issues you faced in ordering.

      • Jay
  • I have just purchased some. Thanks guys

by the way wasn’t sure if payment worked, however checked account and has been debited

    • Thanks for the order!

If you don't get a confirmation email in a few minutes, can you PM Vanessa so she can check this out for you? Thanks!

      • Jay
  • Cheers OP. After many tries was able to place the order via paypal. Order Email and paypal confirmations have come through.Looking forward to the despatch email…

    • Oh great, thanks for the persistence and so sorry for the poor experience. Appreciate the support!

      • Jay
  • Hi Jay and Vanessa,

Thank you for staying active and all the feedback in the post and help with responding.

My order went through after having a blank loading screen at the payment stage.

I appreciate help and understand how busy you must be. This is great price and a great help for those that need this product.

    All the best.

    • Thanks so much for the order and for not giving up on us! So sorry for the terrible website experience. Really appreciate the positive feedback!

      • Jay
  • Getting loading icon for shipping/billing and order review for the past 10min…

    • The checkout is slow and I'm terribly sorry for that. Try refreshing the page if it's still loading for that long.

    • You'll most likely have to refresh a few times before it works. Also recommend you pay straight using your CC instead of using PayPal or AfterPay as someone else here said it failed to work using PayPal but it works using their own payment processor.

  • Sweet was able to get an order in, haven't got the email yet and after the payment screen just went straight back to the main page but checked my CC and can see the debit there.

    • +1

Great. Thanks for the order! If you don't get a confirmation email in a few minutes please PM Vanessa so she can check it out to make sure it went through okay.

      • Jay
  • It didn't want to go to my PayPal and now showing nothing in cart :(

    • We're seeing a lot more success with credit card payment FYI. Sorry about the issue, it's our server as we're just not used to this amount of traffic.

      • Jay
      • Ok. Will try again. Thanks.
