Deal Notes:

In case you're unfamiliar with Amino Z, we're a supplement manufacturer/retailer. And now we're making hand sanitiser in our facility (who'd have guessed). All the obvious reasons why with the gyms being closed.

We are again doing this completely in-house. There's no importing of product and everything is local (ingredients, labour and packaging). Frankly we're just making basic, no-frills hand sanitiser. This is the TGA COVID-19 formulation.

Here's the rundown:

  • It's in an ugly plastic jerry container (We found these after literally days of hunting down containers)
  • I personally created the sticker in Photoshop (Hence why no-frills as this represents the extent of my graphics design skills. As a side note, I am still very jealous of the artwork skills of some of the distilleries.)
  • It's 80% ethyl alcohol (ethanol) with distilled water and propylene glycol (1.45% v/v) and hydrogen peroxide (0.125% v/v). This has been updated as per the TGA guidelines for the COVID-19 pandemic here. This is a slightly viscous liquid formula and is not a gel.
  • It's 100% Australian: We make it in Sydney. Ingredients are all Australian sourced. The bottles are manufactured in Victoria. The labels are printed in Queensland.

The deal is $19.95 each (that's for 1 Litre). Order 4 or more and get free shipping, otherwise shipping is $9.99 Australia Wide (or you can pickup for free).

Plus you'll get $5 back as store-credit per unit. It will be credited to your email once the order ships out and can be used as a discount on any future purchase. Perhaps some added motivation to get back to the gym when they reopen? :)

As compared to when we initially launched the deal on April 14th, our cost prices have gone up as I've had to scramble to find more ingredients. However since there will be a slightly longer lead time than last time, I figure it's only fair to keep the deal identical. Plus the previous experience was terrible for some people who spent hours trying to purchase, I cannot in good faith increase this price for all of those who missed out. Instead the only change is that we're accepting credit card (MC/VISA/AMEX) payment directly (using eWay) as to avoid the higher fees of other payment processors (ie. cut out the middle man so we can still make this feasible).

I am aware there have been a number of hand sanitiser deals on Ozbargain lately. I'm hoping that this represents good value given the costs of the components we had to source. Happy to answer any questions!

    Managed to get an order in well before the website crashing yesturday. However, got an email saying the item is out of stock. I am wondering if everyone is getting this as the item is not available for delivery staright away?

      Yup this has been answered many times.

      The email saying the hand sanitiser is on back order is an automated message because they still have to make it and don’t have any in stock right now.

      If you got the email with the invoice and your order number you have nothing to worry about.

    Earlier this week we ran a huge deal that received overwhelming support from the community. Our servers crashed and it was a terrible experience for a number of people, many of whom missed out once it sold out. Very embarrassing.

    Here's the good news: We've managed to secure more stock, our servers have been upgraded and I've coded in a simple one-page checkout so you can place your purchase instantly without the hassle of applying a coupon code and going through checkout.

    What gives? I ordered Tuesday night when your description said delivery out around the weekend, now it's commencing production in 2 weeks, then shipping? I get that you're breaking new ground here but it seems like a bit of a bait..

      The original deal has started shipping from Friday as was originally noted. We managed to secure more stock so new orders will be shipping within two weeks. This is only for the new batch. Sorry for any confusion.

        I’m one of the people who ordered during the original deal, good to hear our orders have already started to be shipped out.

          No problems. So just some clarity here, the first batch has begun, we began production on Friday and will be shipping out over the coming week. Just depends on how early you got your order in that's all. For the second batch I wouldn't expect it to be dispatched within the next week as you mentioned, definitely a minimum of 1 week and up to 2 weeks.

        An FYI here, previously we had the coupon code and now I have created a separate page to make it easier to place a purchase. The standard price is still displayed on that page (crossed out above the selling price). The $19.95 + $5 store credit is most certainly not the normal price. The normal price of $27.95 is found on our main website too.

        @aminoz Don’t mind the newbies, they weren’t here when the original deal was running. Hundreds/thousands of us were all trying to make a purchase but couldn’t because of server overload.

        @tessel, if you read all the comment pages, you’ll see that a lot of us spent hours trying to order, some spent the whole day refreshing the page to finalise orders.

        This new order page is a one page one click, your order is done.

        Previously you had to add the items to the cart, enter the cart, enter the discount code, go to a checkout page, enter shipping details, then go to payment etc etc, a lot of steps, and at each step, the page was likely to time out or produce an error and that’s if it loaded in the first page.

        Many people had to do the whole process many times or wait til traffic quietened down.

        @Oprahfan, those who ordered during the original deal should have their orders soon, AminoZ said orders have started to be shipped out.

        The new two week wait is for new orders placed after the original deal.

        Not misleading at all, but slightly confusing cause both deals were merged into one.

          Hi, I spent 3 hours trying to order. I believe the normal price was $29.99 and had to use a coupon to get it to $19.xx. Now the normal price is lower and requires no coupon? I noticed this because on FB I saw an advertisement for $19 or whatever it is and no coupon required.

      In the original deal you'll see we were producing stock commencing from Friday (check out the revisions, you'll see this noted). I beleive the confusion has come about because I've made an update for the additional stock we have ordered - this is only for new orders. Orders should be going out over the next 1-2 weeks as mentioned previously. It has always been on backorder though, as we had not yet began bottling it up.

    It seems click and collect orders are being left until last? I only received an email this morning a few days after ordering C&C advising it will be at least another two weeks. Please confirm if this is the case.

      Thanks for the message, no C&C orders aren't being left until last. This email is an automated email that we use for all general orders and it won't be another two weeks. This is automatically sent for a backordered item so we can account for supply delays. This is not a standard item as we are manufacturing this in house and I did not think to code in an exception to the rule here. Sorry for the confusion but you'll get a notification once it's ready.

        A little unclear still.

        I ordered in the first few hours of the deal going up - Is my order then in the first batch to come in a week or so or is it in the second batch which might be available to collect in another three weeks (noting I only received a reply to my email confirming click and collect three days after I sent the confirmation - which was sent within 12 hours of the payment and email seeking confirmation).

      Yep a few people have enquired about this and I'm very sorry for the confusion. See above as this query has been noted here, but happy to note again for you. As mentioned previously, we began production on Friday and orders will be shipping out, I presume we'll get through them all this week. So when you received that notice, it's our automated email picking up in the system that your stock hasn't been allocated yet and it's sending you a notification stating that there will be a delay. We have everything on hand and manufacturing is going ahead so please ignore. I'm very sorry for the confusion here.

        Your clarification and speedy (important) responses are much appreciated Jay. Excellent customer service. Probably a good idea to fix that automated message though or you might keep getting phone calls and emails from concerned buyers. Figure it's a standard message for all Amino Z products but you could just add something temporarily about this particular product to allay any concerns.

    Hi guys per your experience how long from placing order till receiving confirmation email from Amino Z? I placed an order and got the on-screen advice that the confirmation email would come within 15 mins but it's more than 1 hour now and I haven't got any email yet. Should I be worried? Many thanks.

      Payment confirmation (Paypal) from Amino Z was immediate. Took about an hour and a half to get what appeared to be a rote order update (which basically said nil stock, on order - not exactly how Jay describes it in this deal).

      If it’s sent via Auspost - if you don’t opt for anything they’ll just leave it at your door even if the package explicitly says you have to be home and sign for it.

      Still available, you have to use the main product page on their website, not the new express checkout page currently being linked.

      Express checkout page was made because of heavy website traffic and server overload when the original deal was posted, but demand has died down so the main website page should be fine now.

        Actually no, the communication I received stated there would be a further delay on top of the expected ETA.

        Secondly, have you got anything else better to do than by providing a very non constructive post? Lol… seriously people need to take a deep breath and go for a walk or better yet watch some porn.

          You must’ve received the automated message that everyone else received. It was sent in error because of the way the stores database is set up.

          If so, it has been answered and addressed multiple times. If you scroll up there’s even a response on this same comment page (page 7).

          If it’s something else, inform the rest of us so we know of the delay, copy and paste the content of the email or post a screenshot to imgur and link it. If there’s a long delay I’ll cancel my order as well.

          Non-constructive? There’s been quite a few people who voiced concerns about that automated email. If misinformation keeps being perpetuated, then people will think there’s something wrong with the order and cancel.

          Imagine if 30%, 40%, 50% of orders were cancelled because of that, the store would lose a lot of money and could ruin the store.

          Secondly I’m subscribed to this deal so I get notifications when someone posts a comment, it’s not like I’m sitting on this page constantly refreshing, waiting for your specific comment.

          For someone who’s telling others to relax…you’re the one who emailed the company 3 separate times and made a new account on this site just to double check your refund was processed. A little impatient and a bit of an over reaction but who am I to judge.

            Do you seek enjoyment or gain some sort of satisfaction by highlighting pointless facts that really have no beneficial substance.

            Well let’s dissect your response.
            1) I’m not going to trawl through a hundred posts to find an asnswer to a trivial query that should be rather straight forward and resolved by the seller.

            2) I’ve been a long time lurker and given the OP was more proactive on this forum, it was a no-brainer. FYI, as I stated communication made and responded to.. and if you want to be technical yes that included the (now Im aware) automated response.. therefore I didn’t send them 3 emails.
