    • No owner number required when I signed up.

        your membership number

    • Maybe to stop people from signing up who are not regular customers , they will need an owner of the account number which is probably unique to that owner

Wasn’t sure of what it is so put 4 random numbers in and it worked lol

Once these guys get your number, they'll hound you weekly to buy one of their units in their resorts. They do eventually give up though.

    • Good luck with that. I have no money. Ha

      • They can loan you with interest.

        • +1

Good luck with that. I have no credit. Ha

I am here for the comments.
See how many people point out the scam that is Whyndam Rewards

    • +5

Correct me if I am wrong, but I would think that their timeshare scheme might be questionable/a scam.
This Rewards program is for regular hotel bookings.
They are two different websites - Club Wyndham (timeshare) vs. Wyndham Rewards (hotels/apartments)

      • +5

        You know what
        you are 100% Correct
I have them very confused, thank you for the clarification

my mum got suckered into this 18 years ago.

        still her biggest regret.

they tried to sign me all the time.

i give them an earful back.

        • +2

I went to a timeshare presentation on a 3 night package for $60 which probably would've cost about $750.

If you keep your hands in your pockets and don't respond to high pressure tactics, I think it's worth going for the incentive.

        • I went to one of these enticed by some Coles vouchers. Didn't know what to expect, and I've never heard of this company before this. They give you a really high pressure sales session. Mine was one on one, and they really do make it sound enticing. They brought out 3 rounds of salespeople before I got my reward, and they kept slashing the price each time to try and get me to commit. If you pear it back a bit, you realise they're essentially asking you to sign on to a loan and you definitely don't want that.

Went to have a look and scrolled to bottom of the page to see a link for California Residents, clicked on that and it says they can choose not have their personal information sold!?
Does that mean if we’re not from California, our personal information can be sold as we can’t opt out?!

    • Read the terms of use. Replace "may" with "will".

      • I sorta ran over his dog.

Well, replace “sorta” with “repeatedly”… and “dog” with “son”.

  • +2

I signed up for the free wifi, that is if I ever go to one of their hotels, for wifi.

  • +1

Joined as may use in Melbourne , make sure you use a fake mobile number. Calls from anything Wyndham related are relentless.

  • +1

Joined and got it. Doubt I'll use it anytime soon but thanks op!

    • +1

Haha, also doubt I’ll use it anytime soon 😬

Wyndham is a classic timeshare scam.

If you get duped with this is 2020 you're dumb as a bag of rocks.

    This was old 20yrs ago.

  • +2

I've stayed in two Wyndham timeshare places, yes the sales pitch is "strong" but I was used to the tactics from Florida, one was okay - too big for me, the other was really good. Still wouldn't buy one though. Worth taking up for free accommodation if you can ignore the pitch, lol.

    • +2

True. I managed accommodation in Fiji and Sunshine coast. They still call me after 15 years with the hope I might commit. Although I did once, luckily I cancelled it the very next day.

  • They have a nice hotel in Bali I would recommend. I usually book though booking websites and they usually give free wifi and late checkout anyway. Not sure about other locations.

  • Another Wyndham gimmick. There are lots of folks trying to get out of this mandatory payments with hidden fees. My advice: PLEASE STAY AWAY !! ( A WYNDHAM MEMBER)

lol Sounds like you have a story to tell. Wanna share?
