  • Does it raise and lower only? Can you make it just rotate the slats?

    • you can only do one(raise and lower)

    • +1

If your slats are controlled by turning a rod, there are other units that can do that function.

If you mean can this rotate verticals, I have a non-wifi version hooked up to a set of verticals via a beaded chain and it works fine. The open and close limits tends to drift over time though and needs to be recalibrated every now and again.

Why are these so expensive? I haven't been able to get an affordable one (less than $50).

    • Hhmmm … Been considering doing this.

    • hmmm…link? compatible with google home?

  • dear, cause the shipping fee gets more and more expansive now

  • I have the non-wifi version from when that first came out. Works really well and I have it set to auto open and close at certain times.

could u do a video for it?

    • Hi, are yours blinds with those little beads for the chain? Just wondering if the mechanism grips them well and controls them smoothly.

      • +1

Yes, the metal one. Perfect grip if there's enough tension.

        • Also, if you set it to open & close on a schedule, does it normally stop at the same height?

          Thanks again

          • +1

@kacak: If you are using the TuyaSmart app you can for example open the blinds half way. If you set the schedule the only options you have are for a full open or close. For example if the blinds were already half way and the schedule said close then they would fully close.

            • @Ford351: Oh, so you're saying for a full open or close scheduled action, it doesn't matter what position the blinds were at any point beforehand? It's smart enough to stop at the right spot either fully open or closed, without overshooting? Presumably it uses some sensors to detect actual position then.

If so, that's exactly what I'm hoping for :)

              • +1

@kacak: Yes, it doesn't matter what position they are in. During the initial setup is when you set the position limits of how high and low your blinds are. I believe the unit calculates how many rotations it takes and uses this as there are no sensors. The only way it could overshoot is if there is not enough tension on your blinds cord and it slips as this would put the rotations out of whack.

  • How long does the battery last?

"one charing can work for about half of year"

Just throw it on the BBQ every 6 months and you'll be ok

  • Still a bit expensive for what they are. Could you create an Alexa voice routine to also open a roller shade blind a certain amount like half open? I also have Broadlink RM Pro.

Also what internal battery are they, 2 x 18650?

Interested in the concept. Wonder how these compare. Agree with other comments that they all seem overpriced

    • +1

Looks like that is controlled by app only. No Alexa/Google voice control.

  • i have curtains

      So proud of you 😊

Back in 2017 there was a kickstarter project called Blind. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/965750266/blind-engine-… it seems like those are flooding the market now

With IKEA just releasing automated blinds for $199-249 may be worthwhile just changing the whole blinds across rather than doing this. IKEA Fyrtur if anyone interested

    • Yeah I've been waiting for them to be released here and looks like they are now. However, my existing blinds are very wide (2m each x 2) so changing them over to 4 x 1m Ikea ones would be quite expensive compared to getting these 2 controllers.

    • These are interesting but look like only grey and drop is 1.95 and max width 1.4
It's $249 for that size too

Looks like no Alexa etc integration just the remote which is comparable to the $75ish ones on eBay rather than this one

      • Straight from the Ikea site. "Add the TRÃ…DFRI gateway and IKEA Home smart app for control through Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit or Google Home."

        • Yeah, no integration without the gateway, similar to adding a Broadlink to the eBay ones. The Ikea Tradfri gateway is $49

          • @jamestownfx: If IKEA has more than 2m I would be jumping on it. Only reason I won't jump on this device is because I need new blinds

            • @EnergicAU: Hope you like IKEA's selection of colours :)

              • @jamestownfx: I actually would have got a grey colour tbh. It was going to be behind sheers at night so wanted the block out…

  • @sky-zemismart I'm still waiting for my order to be shipped

    • will be soon

      • @sky-zemismart can you update what's going with the package? It's over 10 days and nothing from you guys. I emailed and didn't get a reply either, would be nice to know when you decide to send.

      • I am also waiting for my order to be shipped.. Order placed and confirmed on Apr.18.2020

  • Anybody receive this yet?

  • +1

Received yesterday (melbourne) via fastway couriers…..
    Took a few reads to interpret how to;
-pair usb wifi controller to tuya app (manual add - curtain switch wifi)
-after that pair curtain motor to usb controller
-after that pair remote to curtain controller
-setting the 2 strike points (or whatever it's called)
-dont bother with midpoint unless you want it to stop where ever you set them automatically ie. 3 midpoints = 4 button pushes to fully open/close (i just wanted open and close - so no midpoints)

    Works well otherwise so far.
Already setup with google home/assistant, homeassistant, tuya app and the remote.

Reach out to zemismart via their website live chat and leave a message - they were pretty responsive to me

    • thank u, friend~
could u do a small vidoe for it?

  • @Xetrok could you possibly do a video on how to set this up?
