Not badddd, but not worth 219 lol. Should be $75 at harvey norman.

    • +2

i just see it as a cheaper Philips Nespresso compatible machine, so probably worth $130-$150 with a milk frother included.

    • +1

      https://www.harveynorman.com.au/philips-l-or-barista-latte-p…

On sale for $137, so still save a further $47 to get 90 capsules with the machine. Worth it for anyone wanting a coffee machine, frother and coffee for a few months depending how much you consume.

      • +8

90 capsules , I got 150 capsules doing this so for 150 coffees including machine for $90 bucks and free shipping this is a killer deal.

        • +1

yea my bad meant to say whatever $90 worth gets you in capsules!

        • +4

I chose a few of the more expensive ones so ended up with 130 pods… should last me a week or two in iso

  • +9

These pods are regularly sold for $4 -$4.50 at woolies
essentially you are paying $18 ish for the machine

    pretty good value

    • -1

      $22.5-$30 :) coz they are $6 each

      • +1

Pack of 10 is $6 - think you got your numbers mixed up :)

        • +1

          I think @magb3 is right

          $90 minimum spend, $6 per 10
          need to buy 15 packs
          pay $1.5-$2 extra per pack

          thats $22.5-$30 for the machine!

      • +1

I just had to buy it, as I have been wondering how the barista capsules taste. A new machine just for paying for $20 odd bucks over supermarket special prices is worth it. I will take my old Nespresso machine to work.

        • Very happy with this, almost as good as my old expresso machine (sunbeam cafe express dual block machine) but a lot less messy. Replacing my Breville Nespresso.

    • On special. They are normally $6

  • +1

    Nice deal, cheers OP 👍🏼

  • +1

    Very nice deal OP

  • +5

I bought this machine four weeks ago, I'm happy with it. This is a very good deal if you are looking for a pod machine.

I've tried a few brands of pods in it now, Killer Coffee pods sometimes don't work (they don't seem to fit, but not all the time) but I've had no problems with any others.

    • Best priced pods available?

    • +2

      https://shop.lorespresso.com.au/pages/promotion-terms-and-co…

If you bought it, you might be able to get a $20 voucher for use later.

      • +2

Its not a unique voucher - voucher is BARISTA20

      • They sell the pods for $6 when it could be obtained for $3 elsewhere, is that right?

So with $55 minimum spend, you need to get $60 to use it, which makes it $40 for 10 pods. Compared to elsewhere, you would have paid $30. Still $10 more even with the voucher.

    • Just wanted to mention I've had issues with Killer Coffee pods on my Nespresso machine, so possibly not an issue with this machine.
First box was fine, second doesn't seem to fit properly.

  • +1

Only 1000 units available. So grab fast. OP

    • +1

Nearing 4000 clicks…..this might end in tears

    • -1

Got one. Ran out of one of the pod varieties already though (supremo doubles)

  • +1

    Tempting,

    Pods are expensive otherwise.

    • +2

different one, this one with milk frother

    • +1

You could use any aluminium pod on this

  • +9

Pod machines are so bad for the environment though.

    • -6

      okay social justice warrior.

    • +3

not really. All my pods are biodegradable or recyclable.

      • -3

Which is a million miles away from being eco friendly in reality…

Don't get me wrong, there are far worse things (even simply owning a car), but please don't think you're being environmentally responsible.

        • +1

the original statement was '…so bad for the environment…' and I disagree. I never claimed to be eco friendly, I just don't believe these machines deserve the bad rap they get regarding the environment.

          • @wallet72: You're using buzzwords to act like it's not as damaging as it is. Disagreeing that they're bad for the environment is effectively the same as calling them eco-friendly (how can they be simultaneously bad and not bad?).

You'd have a valid point if the pods were actually recycled. As you are surely aware, the VAST majority of them are not.

    • +3

They use aluminium pods which are recyclable.

      • +1

        Just FYI

You can't normally recycle them via your home recycling bin. You need to take them in to a collection point.

        https://www.recyclingnearyou.com.au/coffee-capsules

Maybe you can put them in the recycle bin if you cut each pod open and clean out the coffee - though I'm not sure.

        • +1

I am aware of that, it was stated in the box. I have a box of used capsules waiting to be completely full so I can take it to one of these recycling centres.

          • @onewayhollywood: Cool. I found it a bit inconvenient so I switched to biodegradable ones which apparently cause other problems. :(

    • They do make reusable coffee capsule, where you can refill them yourself (which kind of defeats the convenience factor).

    • -1

      Just buy instant…

  • +1

    Thanks, got one :)

  • Thanks got one ! :D real good deal, sent it to the missus !

  • +11

    Awesome deal - cheers OP!

Looks like you can possibly get a $20 credit if you register your machine too:

  • Thanks OP

  • I was going to buy a K-Mart machine for beans, long term will I save more?

    • +1

can't speak for the quality of a Kmart machine, but even if you were to spend $500 on a good machine, your long term cost of coffee comes down to under 20c a cup. If you compare that to Pods at 30-70c a cup, there's a point where you will go ahead by grinding your own beans. Feel free to attach your own value to (lower) environmental impact of beans vs pods.

Grinding, tamping, extracting and frothing takes a bit of skill and practice and if you just want a 'better than instant' solution, then this is still a great little deal.

      • I already bought it, but I think I'll end up going back to beans and giving this to a mate for $50
I do like Coles organic beans, and I hear Aldi has food ones.

  • +2

Wowwww, I literally just bought this exact machine last week because working from home I needed coffee!

Oh well, you win some, you lose some.

  • +2

does this machine take both single and double size pods?

    • +1

      Sure does.

      • thanks for that. Also if I usually take 2 x regular pods in my mug of coffee, will the XXL pod do me? Or is it not quite 2 x a regular pod?

        • +1

the XXL is equivalent to 2x Regular pods. However don't bother buying it here. They are on special at the moment for $8 at Woolies. (vs $11)

          • @Besean: Are you saying it's better to get the single sized pods to make up the $90 spend to get the machine?

            • +1

@theguyrules: Yes, unless you always drink double, then might as well buy XXL.

              • @Besean: Yeah we do always drink double shots. I ended up grabbing all XXL anyway. Good to know they go on sale at Woolies though. Thanks for the heads up!

  • Got one, cheers.

  • ordered, thanks very much :)

  • +1

    I grabbed it 😁

If I don't like it, I'll use all the pods and try sell the machine 😬😊

  • Nice. Thanks OP

  • got one, thanks.

  • Thanks OP now to develop a coffee addiction :)

  • Got one thanks, with 150 Ristretto capsules.

  • Thank for the deal OP.

  • capsules are very expensive $11 compared to Coles Woolworths on special $4.50

    • Those are the double pods. Should be comparing with the $6 pods.

    • Lol you are looking at double shot ones, which are $8-$9 on special in Woolies. Single shot ones are $6

    • +1

very seems, a bit stretch, the double capsules works out to be 55c per shot and ColesWorth special to be 45c per shot

    • +1

You're looking at the XXL capsules. The capsules are $6 vs $4.5 when on special. However I've been running low on capsules and haven't noticed any of these capsules on sale lately at Woolies and Coles.

      • often woolies has the 20 pack for $8-$9 on special as well,

      • If anyone has access to Costco as well, they only sell the Supremo single pod in bulk, works out to be around 41-42c a pod I think.

  • +2

Thanks OP! Free shipping in Sydney too (or at least to Lower North Shore)

  • $48 worth of pods for $90… so $42 for the machine. Pretty good deal.

  • Got it thanks op!

  • Thanks OP got one.

  • +1

Yeah usually pay 4.50 for these and occasionally on sale for 3 bucks on Amazon a box. Pretty much buying them and getting the coffee machine and milk frother for $30-45. Still a good deal, assuming a Philips machine is good. I put in a order.

  • +3

Do I need 4th coffee machine in the house? :/

    • Does that come with the milk frothy thingy though?

      • That's different model. This doesn't come with frother

        • This one does come with the milk frother. I added the L'OR BARISTA Coffee Machine - Piano Noir Latte to my order for free.

        • Yeah definitely the latte version

        • My bad, i was referring to link which was on special for $75. The Free machine is with Frother.

  • Got one. Thanks Op

  • Excellent coffee machine. And saving a lot of money on coffee while working from home.

  • +2

    Got one thx OP.

If you know the market price for Lor pods, you would know $18-$24 (Depending on how much you can get these pod elsewhere) for a new machine + milk frother + free ship (to Sydney) is almost a giveaway.

Also for people who are coffee savvy….

I drink instant coffee, Nespresso pod (~$0.45 per cup) and hand grinded single-origin filter (~$2 per up) at home depending on mood and I generally see all these three as different drinks. No point comparing apple to orange.

  • Got one. Thanks, OP. Spewing they ran out of decaf pods though.

  • Four different drinks!!

  • +1

Got one! Thank you OP. Great value deal for us coffee drinkers.

  • How long until the pods expire usually? Seems like a lot to go through

    • That's what I thought, until this Isolation thing started happening… churning through pods and milk like never before…

  • Got one. Thanks OP.

Free shipping to regional QLD too.

  • +1

Thanks good deal. It should be free delivery everywhere for over $55 spend and can confirm i got this getting the deal from Perth
