    Where's the bargain ???

    • +1

Click the image smart man (or woman?)

      • -2

why not list the item that is a bargain and how much you'd be saving ???

        http://www.ozbargain.com.au/wiki/help:deal_posting_guideline…

There are lots of ads in today's paper… If you can't bothered posting why this is a bargain, maybe best not to post…

        • +6

          sorry kinda rushed the post…

        • -1

          no probs… ;)

  • +6

They're cheap but I wouldn't say "bargain" necessarily

    • correct - if only all pamphlets and junk mails ads written down to ozbargain!

      no, wait…

    • +2

Title should say "Harvey norman TV price correction to reasonable pricing"

  • Does it say what model number the Samsung is? (Sorry, the link is blocked at work so I can't see it)

    • -2

can't tell from the pic, it's too fuzzy…

      • +2

Sounds like the Samsung has Fuzzy Logic built in.

      • Someone really hates JV…ahha I cant see how this post is negable…

  • Re: Samsung it is listed on the website;
    http://www.harveynorman.com.au/product/1256980132325/samsung…

It has bang on the website so I assume it is the same model

    • Yep its the UA46D6003… I'm buying one today :) seems like the better ones on the advertisement. I was reading somewhere that it was 200hz?! Can anyone confirm?

      • It doesn't look that it's this model. UA46D6003 is a 3D TV with 200 hz. Harvey Norman website doesn't say that it's a 3D and it says that it's 100 Hz.
Another trick from Harvey. Why not to specify the model number? Then you know if it's a bargain or not and if you want to buy it or not.

  • updated :)

  • size aside, which is the better tv to go for between the sony and the samsung?

I'm looking to get a tv for Dad's birthday to replace the current 50" Toshiba rear projection thats about 7-8 years old now.

Also do those two models come with speakers built in?

  • +3

if there are no speakers wheres the sound gonna come from

  • I thought you might need to buy a separate sound system as I can't see any speakers from the front view.

    • The speakers are on the back side (usually at the top of the unit). And in my experience Samsung is better than Sony.
Edit: from Samsung website: "The Samsung LED TV is equipped with "invisible" speakers so you can enjoy the benefits of true surround sound without any distractions or additional equipment".

SAMSUNG 51" FULL HD PLASMA $678
    MODEL NO: PS51D450A2M

this is not "FULL HD"… Got me all excited :(

  • +6

i can confirm SAMSUNG 51" FULL HD PLASMA $678 MODEL NO: PS51D450A2M is not FULL HD and not the bargain.i bought this TV 2 months ago at The Good Guys for $675.

  • The UA46D6003SM for that price is definitely a bargain. Even the 40" version of the same model has only recently dropped below the $1000 mark (and yes, I did buy it sigh).

  • +1

    LIMITED 1 TV PER CUSTOMER

    lol

  • +1

Hmmm think I'll go to Good Guys or Jb can probably neg a better deal there.

  • Can anyone confirm if the Samsung UA46D6003SM is an old or superseeded model. I can't find any competitors (dick Smith, JB's, Good Guys) with the same model to compare prices with.

  • Where can you get the SAMSUNG 51" HD PLASMA for cheaper than $678?

    • That model is Not FULL HD.. 1365 x 768 $4 more expensive at VideoPro

      • but with free delivery

  • How much for samsung UA60D8000??

  • Several places have the Panasonic $100 cheaper.
    See http://www.myshopping.com.au/ZM--1215460753_Panasonic_55_VIE…

  • The LG 60PV250 isn't that cheap, it's a $89 cheaper at Dick Smith - http://dicksmith.com.au/product/GE6642/lg-60-quot-full-high-…

  • I called up Jb Hi fi stores in Melbourne and they said they dont stock UA46D6003. Next tried Good Guys Highpoint, Taylors Lakes who confirmed they have stock and RRP is $1119 and $1299 respectively. After speaking to Harvey Norman stores (deliveries for this TV will be in by COB today) the RRP is $1399.So its $400 bucks approx off.

Bought a tv from them the other month, guy said he couldnt do any better. Went home and found the same tv at JB HI FI for $400 cheaper, printed page off, went back in and they refunded me ;)

  • Hi Guys,

I brought the Samsung LED LCD 46" TV - UA46D6003 yesterday.
Looks and works pretty good and FYI the box also states 200hz!!

I can confrim that this TV is a SMART TV… so you can watch youtube, download apps and facebook etc etc…
Also it has a builtin decoder for movies of usb hdd, memory sticks also :) works good!!

for $997 I think its a decent price.

NOTE: PC VGA is 1920x1080 res only @ 60hz 'seemed flickery'. HDMI from the computer worked fine though!

    • i assume you didnt get the extra warranty with it?
do you think its worth the extra for it?

  • not quite tempting for me, I think i would rather get the soniq from jb which is less than half the price. samsung is a good TV brand, but i dont need smart tv. thought it would have been 3D at that price.
