That tablet and PC section is pretty empty thought it would be full of Surface Book 2's given the upcoming update.

Samsung Galaxy Active would be down to $384 with the discount, not sure if that's a good deal or not.

    • Yeah very poor selection. My wife has been thinking about picking up a Surface Laptop 3, but they only have a few random SKUs of Surface Laptop 2 in there.

  • Hmm Elite controller series 2 for $199.96. Somewhat tempted, but I've gone through 2 original elites which have had problems and seems the series 2 has problems of its own.

    • Do you have a link? I was about to post that I couldn't see it listed.

I'm not sold on the integrated battery on the Elite 2

    • +1

I've found the xbox controllers in general to be really unreliable. I think we went through about 4 controllers before giving up and buying a PS4.

      • +2

Yeah, I find that there's a bit of give in the joysticks on xbox but the battery is poor on the ps4 and can't turn off the bloody light. I much prefer the overall design and shape of the xbox controller though.

      • Can confirm the battery on dualshock sucks in addition to that 2 out 4 of my controllers have developed "drifts" in the left thumbsticks.

    • +1

As someone who absolutely loves the Elite controllers I think that are ridiculously overpriced for the continued quality issues they have. I went through 4 Elite V1’s and about to be onto my 2nd Series 2 controller….but I’m a sucker for paddles!

IMO they certainly should have a better and more reliable build quality for the price but instead it’s the same constant issues that are widespread that continue to plague the controller.

      • Yeah, I love my Elite 1 as well, but both controllers have had the same issues with stick drift and grips peeling off. Grips appear to be fixed on the Series 2, but stick drift and button problems etc seem to be fairly common.

Saw this on reddit recently; https://www.reddit.com/r/xboxone/comments/gatu1i/a_classacti…

        • My issues with the Series 2 are a lot of button/paddle/bumper not registering button presses or registering a double press at other times and after some research it’s seems to be a common theme on the S2’s.

      • +1

2 year warranty so just send back for refurb / to get fixed love my elite 2 as I did elite 1 just had grip issues with it

        • +1

The problem is you shouldn’t need to repeatedly have a product replaced for the price we pay for it. First batches etc. I can understand but these same problems arise right through the life of the controller and it’s honestly not good enough.

          • @ElectrkJonesy777: Definitely but we might as well take advantage of it other countries don't have the luxury of this

    • +1

I have the first gen and I'll hold out until they revise the controller for Series X to get one. As you note, they still have some issues and if I'm going to pay $200 I feel I may as well get one with the new share button (which I'd use). Doesn't hurt that my Gen 1 is still going strong, although I had to replace the grips when the rubber began to peel.

Sort of hoping they release a G3 soon with the share button and bring back the removable battery. Personally I'm a big fan of the ability to hotswap some rechargeable AA's for Xbox controllers.

      • Yeah, i'm leaning towards the same (waiting for series x version). I think on my controller, the parts of the grips that are peeling are on the body of the controller (not the replacement shell bits), so can't really be replaced.

        • That’s annoying. I got lucky with mine. The finish has started to peel a bit on the face around the ABXY buttons too but at least that’s only cosmetic.

I love the choice of battery options.

for those that done have epp Samsung Galaxy S20+ - 128GB Grey - AU $1199 1 available

For everyone that is interested in this phone, please don't buy the Exynos version, get the Snapdragon version for better battery life. Check YouTube reviews for proof.

      • I'm actually curious as to why I'm being down voted here… What have I missed?

        • +7

Maybe someone bought the wrong one and is salty

          • @Merlict: Hahahahahaha true…

            Edit: Tue to True..

            • @sss9660: Can you choose which version you get?

              • +3

@trunks: No, you will have to grey import a Qualcomm version and samsung Australia will NOT support it.

I'm sure someone else can advise, usually the Qualcomm version is for mainland China and USA only. They have different 4g bands and the USA models have had locked bootloaders in the past

Honestly - just don't buy it if you think the exynos is bad.

                • -1

@greatlamp: Yeh Superannuation is right all the way… tbh steer clear of of all new exynos products.. probs scour youtube reviewers for ideas. good luck!

Razer Core X Chroma Edition for $519.20 if interested. Not the cheapest it's been ($493.20 in Dec), but cheapest at the moment I can see.

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Razer-Core-X-Chroma-External-Gra…

    • Super tempting. I actually bought an xps just for the ability to have eGPU, but then eventually I realised i just played Dota 2 anyways and eGPU would be overkill. :(
Are there any other reasons to get the eGPU apart from gaming?

      • I tried Dota with an eGPU and it wasn't great performance wise. I have an XPS 13 9370 and ran it with a 5700XT. Could be the GPU though since it was quite early in its driver life

      • I pulled the trigger on one. Main reasons for getting one:

        1. I game on the side a fair bit, the slim laptop I have (MSI Prestige 15) runs quite warm while gaming with the tiny chassis for a 15.6" paired with a i7-10710u and GTX 1650 MaxQ. Both are low voltage variants, but in total it adds up to being quite warn while gaming. I'm hoping an eGPU shifts some of that away, I don't want the laptop dying prematurely from extended sessions with high temps.

        2. I wanted a very simple plug and play in the upstairs office. Very first world problem, but I lug my laptop charger upstairs, plug it in to the powerboard, plug the HDMI cable in to the laptop, plug a small USB hub in to the laptop with the wireless keyboard and mouse dongles. The Razer Core X Chroma has 4 x USB 3.1 ports in it. It also charges laptops via USB-C up to 100w. So all I'll need to do with this setup is plug in the USB-C cable and I'm good to go. The external display will be connected via DisplayPort on the eGPU and the wireless keyboard/mouse dongles will plugged in to the back of the eGPU ready to go.

My plan is to replace my gaming rig GPU with a new GPU, like a 2080 super and put my current GPU in to the eGPU for the laptop.

  • Razer Goliathus Extended Chroma Gaming Mouse Mat for $80. Not nearly as good as the recent $40 deal, but I've been unable to find it for < $100 other than the ugly (imho) Gears edition.

    EDIT: $84 @ Amazon https://www.amazon.com.au/Razer-Goliathus-Chroma-Mouse-RZ02-…

'despite this, Bill and Melinda Gates are facing calls for their philanthropic Foundation, through which they have donated billions worldwide, to be subject to an international investigation, according to a controversial new report.'
Far from a “neutral charitable strategy”, the Gates Foundation is about benefiting big business, especially in agriculture and health, through its “ideological commitment to promote neoliberal economic policies and corporate globalisation,” according to the report published by the campaign group Global Justice Now. Its influence is “dangerously skewing” aid priorities, the group says.

“The world is being sold a myth that private philanthropy holds many of the solutions to the world’s problems, when in fact it is pushing the world in many wrong directions,” the report claims. '

        • -1

Is it proven? That 5G towers are bad for our health?

@congo: Nothing proven but some people (idiots) believe coronavirus comes from 5g towers.

Sweet - picked up an overpriced Wireless Controller strictly to clear cable clutter on my desk and no other reason.

  • Can anyone share their experiences with the Surface laptop 3? I wasn't the biggest fan of my surface pro

    • I got one before Christmas for my son at high school (he doesn’t really appreciate what he’s got)
Did not see any in this sale, father in law wants the same

      • Wow your son sure is damn snooty!

    • +1

I have the surface laptop 2 and I love it. It’s basically the surface, but without having to deal without the shenanigans of a tablet, and the flimsiness of the silly keyboard attachment. What you get is a single, solid piece of laptop, which is super slim, touchscreen, and speedy. My only complaint is that I wish it had USB-C charging instead of the proprietary Microsoft magsafe charger. I haven’t looked at the Surface Laptop 3 but I assume it is the same.

      • +1

Yes same power connector but has USB C for data etc

  • +5

Shouldn't they call their store the Bin Ends store or something because you only get the stuff that Microsoft are happy to discount 20%.

    • No keyboards under $99, no Surface anything except Surface Laptop…

  • Surface book 2 under $1,500. Hmm…

  • Surface pro for about 700. Isn't too bad? i think?

I'm looking for a Pro 5 or 6 though. so no go

    • Surely you meant Surface Go?

  • Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 seems excluded at the moment? Maybe they sold too many too quickly …

    • Was there, sold out

  • Very poor listing. Surface pro not included

  • +1

the razer mx150 doesnt seem too bad of a deal ?

  • +1

Seems like they removed quite a few items from the sale including the Surface Book 2 I was looking at yesterday.

    • Yep tablet I was looking at was discounted yesterday, code no longer applies. Samsung here I come.

  • Hmmm, wouldn't work when I went to apply the coupon to a Surface Book (which is only listed via that expanded link above). Any ideas? It doesn't say it's excluded in the T&Cs.

    • They removed items from that expanded list sadly.

      • Bugger, thanks.

Lol, that's what I said on Tues after spending hours reading reviews on Monday.
