That post is a month old. And if you read the comments on that post you would find that the op got confused/Harvey Norman were borderline deceptive

        It was $0 upfront.
But there was a $10 or 20$ handset cost per month on that plan!

        It was deceptive advertising

these deals are bs, they don't expire

    • +1

Yes they do, they end up going for $39, then $29.

Im going to say no deal on this. The galaxy S (first one) came out on exactly the same deal. its pretty standard for an android smartphone from Optus.

  • Locked for 24 months with flOptus? Especially a no-no if you stay in metropolitan areas. But I suppose if their LTE did get launched by next year then it won't be so bad since it's supported by the Galaxy S 2..

    • thats on optus business

I voted it a deal as I just got this on the $59 cap, so I think it was a good post by the rep.

On Vodafone they have this on $45 Infinite Plan, Unlimited calls, text, social network, etc. But its only 500mb data which i guess is they only downside…

      On Vodafone…. that's another downside!

      • Do you think Optus is better than Vodafone?

        • +1

there are no better, you just have to work out which carrier works for you.

        • +1

I will say Vodafone. Their LTE network has started being rolled out, and more network stations have been built and their network congestion/problems are getting solved. This is after the whole Vodafail and class action lawsuit 1-2yrs ago.

Optus is still in the state of denying that they are facing network congestion and problems and their LTE only start next year. It'll be another 1-2yrs before they get to where Vodafone is now.

In conclusion it is a better and safer decision to go with Vodafone instead.

P.S. I don't work for Vodafone. Just a person in Melbourne who has experienced flOptus at the beginning of the year and decided that he had had enough.

  • No 2 months free? So it's like all the way around…
