        • Damn it, no Thornlie……….

    • Perhaps the franchise owners need to opt-in for it? Not sure.

  • +1

    who served and protected

    It's over already?

    • No. All healthcare workers died is all

  • Have the fire victims been forgotten? Why don't they get free stuff?

    • -7

Not discounting the vital role our active healthcare workers have played but they are being paid. The victims of the last round of bushfires have unfortunately been forgotten in all this COVID19 when they were already under extreme stress.. We need to help these vulnerable members of our society first.

      • +1

You are getting downvotes but I agree, a free cheeseburger doesn't mean much to a doctor on $100K+ a year.

        • +1

But a doctor on $100k+ per year has a lot more disposable income for the rest of their life to keep buying red rooster.

Plus a lot of doctors have a large family

Cheap promo with lots of benefit.

        • Or the gesture does mean something to them… being appreciated in some way is better than none high income or not… plus this includes nurses and other vital frontline people who risk their health and possibly families health .. in this case it’s a win win for businesses that are suffering to get some marketing and exposure and a good gesture for those who are genuinely helping everyone…

        • I don't think the people in 100k+ salaries are applying for this.. It's more the lower tier salary (no disrespect) health workers applying for these deals.

  • +3

Looks like the Victorian stores are too chicken to run the deal

  • +2

No love for centrelink workers :(

    • +3

Or cleaners, or public transport staff, or medical researchers, or hairdressers…the list of those missing out is very long.

  • +6

I know this will get negged, but why not give free food to the people who are actually doing it hard and have had to sacrifice their job through all this.

It seems strange giving away free stuff to people who actually have a job and can afford it.

    • +2

I never understood this either, it seems marketing stumbled upon the idea, and everyone jumped in.

Hooman herd mentality at its best.

    • +2

Agreed. I wonder if the mods could make it so that its easy to hide these posts? Kind of triggers me everytime I see them…

  • Do they still do the Hawaiin Pack ?

    • Tropicana has quarter chicken, chips and two pineapple fritters. (With or without the can of drink)

  • +2

Its a bit ambiguous if I am eligible, I am an essential worker, I am a Healthcare worker. I am not a front line worker by my definition. I work in the background supporting IT.
Guess I will play it safe and claim a free meal or two but I don't take advantage on offers that are not meant for me.
I agree these deals are much better to be offered to those doing it hard and not to us whom is safely working from home with a job.

  • Just went to the Moorooka store listed in Qld and was told they aren't doing it. Also tried the Maccas cheeseburger and told you can only get a coffee. Seems like some great pr which they don't have to follow up on
