  • A good price to be sure, but I Robot was a travesty for anyone that had read the book. The original book… now that was a classic!

I never read the book but didn't go into watching the movie with high expectations at the time. I was pleasantly surprised and thought it was great. I have watched it a few times since and still enjoy it. I guess like most movies, they are never as good as the book because your imagination is the 'director' and if the movie doesn't go in the way your mind 'directed' it, it will never be as good :)

I agree with you - I didn't want to come across as trite as it is pretty cliched to say "the book was better" :) For anyone interested, the book was a collection of short stories that were like detective stories (ie why did the robot kill that person?) whereas the movie turned it into a typical action film.

    • I liked the movie (never read the book), except for the gratuitous product placement.

Eh, I liked both the book and the movie. They just had basically nothing to do with each other outside sharing a title.

Ready Player One is another good one for $6.50 - hoping for some good behind the scenes!

    • This was another movie I was very impressed with! the CGI was amazing imo…

    • The book was so much better than the movie.

haha - another book I haven't read to compare. But I still agree with my point above ;)

Good choice. I bought it also, alongside The Martian (for $6.98).

      Thanks OP.

    AMAZING movie.

Dont think of it as the same as the book.

On its own, its a great ride.
