Basing it on the price Mr JV. Could be trash but can't find anything better for the price.

        Could be trash

If it's trash, it's a waste of money and not a bargain.

        • +3

Or it could work as described in which case logic would suggest it's a bargain ;)

          • @pooman: So it's a lottery ?

@jv: Far out jv stop picking on this poor man

                poor man

You need to search for a Specsavers deal…

                • +2

@jv: Lol you focus too much on 💩…

  • Looks pretty cool!

I don't think this is a traditional HUD that projects onto the windscreen though. Looks like it has a proper LCD display rather than a bunch of led like a normal HUD

    • correct, the ones that are reflected off your windscreen must have digits "mirrored", if you try to do the same with this the numbers will be facing the wrong way around.

  • +3

Mine died after a few weeks in the Aussie heat. Would never buy again

    • Ahh good point. Probably why normal HUD use the crappy led displays… Can imagine they're more robust in our hot weather. I've had my cheap eBay HUD for a couple of years and it's still going strong

    • +3

Still waiting for my free nonda. Nothing for a long time now…

      • Stay strong. My dad and I had ours delivered around a month ago after ordering a month before that.

        • nonda is rubbish, forget about it

          • @[Deactivated]: Well we've both had good experiences with it so far. I guess not everyone has the same experience and thoughts.

            • @navjay: what experience ? this does absolutely nothing other than show speed and rev meter on the phone with a delay? half of the functions do not work when car is off (car tracking), this is rubbish does absolutely nothing

              • @[Deactivated]: Are you talking about Kogan display or the Nonda one linked? You mentioned that Nonda is rubbish and that I should forget about it and I'm saying it's not. I've got a Nonda and it's working fine for me and I'm happy with it. So has my dad.

Car tracking works by saving the location on the phone app, and it has worked fine for me so far.

                • @navjay: im talking about nonda, its rubbish. well i guess it depends how demanding are you and what do you require of it.

                  • +2

@[Deactivated]: A bad experience for you does not mean it's rubbish for everyone.

                    • -1

@navjay: i am just stating the OBVIOUS FACTS that its functions are very limited, its capable of doing basically nothing, so yes in my opinion it is rubbish. And its not just me, theres also about 150+ other people in nonda thread stating the same. so experience of 150+ people means something more than only you and your dad. that pretty much sums it up that you are wrong or your requirements are extremely low, or you have no idea about technology.
what im trying to say it that you have never used a proper mechanic tool OBD, thats why you think nonda is good.

                      • @[Deactivated]: They gave away a couple hundred thousand of them so ~150 people is quite a small number…

I would also argue that it isn't a fact that its functions are very limited. It depends what functions you expected from a device that you got for free. From the experience of navjay, it sounds like the functions weren't limited for navjay and his/her dad.

@brotherfranciz: im using only ozbargain as reference and 95% people are saying its shit. as i said, if your technical knowledge and requirements are very low or none, and you have no idea whats actually good or bad and what a proper OBD can do, then yes whatever it will be ok for you. but comparing this nonda garbage to a proper obd that mechanics have, rubbish is a compliment.

                      • @[Deactivated]: Usually people with negative experiences (or who don't receive the item) are the ones who make a comment and kick up a stink. Also, you shouldn't necessarily say a product is bad when it doesn't arrive. In that case the shipping/logistics is bad and the product isn't.

Ok, well you seem like you are an expert on technology and the 150 people you counted (maybe count again?) must speak for everyone who has a Nonda device. I guess my requirements were way off as I saw the Nonda LITE device as a a cheap ~$7 option to read OBD codes. I should clearly purchase a much more expensive OBD device and become a mechanic.

I had different one before. Bought for $49 from EBay 3 years ago. Gave it to father in law. it was very useful. especially seeing the fuel level as percentage which I liked it. Error codes yeah could be useful. This one is very cheap. I ordered one. Let's see.

why are we cruising OzB right now, if not to snap up crappy unnecessary toys like this ;)

  • +1

Just buy a BT OBD2 unit on ebay. Install the Torque app (free, or $5 for full features and no ads).

    • +1

      ^This
'Car Scanner Pro' is a very good app too and importantly it has a 'Disconnect' button. You can use the Nonda OBD unit to connect to both these apps.

  • Would this be able to tell me my DPF level?

Is this for blind or short drivers who can't see the speedo?
