20-Piece Impact Socket Set with Lifetime Warranty $115.50 @ Repco

120

I've been eyeing this set for a while and now seems a good time to jump on it.

It's marked as $130.50 as per the 25% off sale but when I added one to my cart it showed as $115.50.

Subtract 20% cashback to that and you get nearly half off RRP for an impact socket set with lifetime warranty! ($92.4 after CB)

  • Nice. Not to nitpick but cashback is after GST so will end up $94.70 ($115.50-11.50=$104). 20% cashback on pre GST amount of $104

Good discount and all, but honestly Force sockets are cheaper and still offer a lifetime warranty if that's your bag. Realistically, you'll lose them before you break one.

    • Decent price but you can get this larger Force set for about the same: https://www.tradetools.com/product-range/hand-tools/socket-s…

One advantage of chrome is that when you drop a socket in the engine bay it's easier to see. :-(

Chrome vanadium sockets are a completely different thing to impact sockets. They're more prone to cracking or snapping when used with high enough torque impact wrenches.

        • Thx qiqi. Missed that completely.

    • lifetime of the tool, not the owner …. i got the super cheap protool hand set (not impact) set i bought checked what is lifetime, and i recall the particular set was 26 years, not sure what lifetime of an impact socket set would be …..but if you can break on of these i guess it means you have been busy and it has paid for itself hopefully.

  • Looks like when you add over $100 worth in your cart it takes some % off every item

    • Might have been glitching again with the spend $100, save $15.
Coming up as $126.75 for me, on the product page and in cart.

      • Yeah, same here.

  • I scored this the last time Repco did a 30% off storewide that included clearance items.

Might be worth waiting if you don't need the larger sizes.

  • Looking to service my cars myself (change engine oil and filters). Is this torque wrench good enough for a DIYer ?

    • To change oil and filters you dont need a impact socket. Just a regular socket set will do.
These are more used with rattle guns to loosen or fix nuts and bolts which need to be done up tighter, such as wheel nuts, exhaust manifolds etc

Repco tools are amazing, I have a tool chest full of them. Very high quality. The great thing about the returns is you just bring the broken tool to any repco store and they swap it no questions asked. No receipt needed.

  • This is my goto set :D

    Good deal!

  • why do I need these???

    • +1

      You don't.

  • Slightly off topic but does anyone do a reasonably priced 3/8" impact set?

    • +2

I ran into the same problem years ago. Not easy to find 3/8 impact stuff locally, so I ended up looking online and got this exact same set (albeit probably from a different seller). Got over 10 yrs of auto trade use out of these with no issues. There may or may not be cheaper atm, but $38 shipped for a good brand impact socket set is still very reasonable today!

      • Thanks, CP is good gear, probably won't find better value for the price.

    • Depends on what sizes you need, deep or standard, metric or imperial.

Cheapest I know of is $16.95, but is a very limited metric set. They also have a few other reasonably priced sets.
