      • pay hundreds of dollars for it

Is aural sex more expensive than oral sex? 😧Someone needs to post a BOGOF deal stat.

  • +4

I've used these - sound quality is okay. Battery life and pairing is a hassle.

I've since upgraded to Galaxy Buds - the instant pairing (as in, in the time it takes for me to move my hand from the case to my ear, they're already paired and playing music) is worth the extra ~$150. There are still heaps of unopened Buds on Facebook around me for cheap.

    • +3

My QCY T2S pair instantly, have great battery life & sound fine - all for $30.

      • +2

Bad mic tho. Cant really use it anywhere which is a little noisy.

        • eh, the galaxy buds mic isn't any good either. Probably better than the QCY but not $100 better.
Every TWS earphone has shitty mics

          • +1

@[Deactivated]: Should checkout the apple airpod pros. Easily the best and usable even in windy conditions ;p

          • @[Deactivated]: Incorrect, Galaxy Buds Plus have a superb microphone and are worth every dollar more than the QCY T2S. I own both.

        • Fair enough - I rarely take calls with them :)

        • Any recommendation for the ones with good mic? Are SoundPeats good?

      • Yea they are fine, but mostly relative to its price

      • I mean, for the price yeah.

But muddy sound, non existent sound stage, meh controls and awful mic. It's definitely not a high end bud, that's for sure.

Nonetheless, cheap is cheap. Pretty good fit and casing too.

got one for a family member months ago - sound is great /, battery not so. for 15 bucks, great deal. if you listen to hip/hop , pop r&b mostly, this will be enough. would I exchange for my expensive one? definetely no, but this costs ~10x less!

  • Give your ears an orgasm

Covid-19 or some other crazy virus must have infected the ears and/or the brain.

  • Anyone tested their microphone for calls? My wireless charging QCY's have great sound but mediocre mic (~$30).

    • I honestly don't think anything within this price range is going to beat qyc lol.

  • The Google voice controlled one that is Bluetooth and look like they're Dad headphones are quite good. I get 5-6 hours battery life from a single charge. Sound quality is pretty good too.

    https://www.kmart.com.au/product/bluetooth-voice-operated-ne…

Microphone for calls and everything is good also. Definitely preferable to the in ear wireless type IME.

  • Not every store has it?

Why buy Apple ipods when we can have this

  • With that description, I wanna buy 5 😂

  • No chance at Merrylands store

  • +1

Ahh, well it's under warranty so that's a win win, however it's 2.5 hours battery life, and 3 charges via the base station upwards of a total of 12 hours.

Doubt it's noise cancelling, and looks cheap.

There's plenty of good wireless headsets for $30+ online with more battery life like xioami 10 hours of battery life on 1 charge for much less.

    https://www.mi.com/global/mi-true-wireless-earphones

But Kmart has local warranty if something goes bad, and lastly if you're scared of online shopping (when you shouldn't.) then buy these.

So it's a win and lose situation here.

    • where did u find the mi ones for that price mate

    • Another Xiaomi product, another day of not knowing what is the model number of their product, another knock off brand doing their Mr Burns impersonation.

      Excellent product, they say.

    • There's plenty of good wireless headsets for $30+ online with more battery life like xioami 10 hours of battery life on 1 charge for much less.

      https://www.mi.com/global/mi-true-wireless-earphones

Sorry did you link to the wrong item or make a typo? That page says a 1 hour charge = 3 hours usage, and 10 hours is only by recharging multiple times.

  • Quick guys! Time to cancel those QCY orders!
    :P

    • looks like its sold out everywhere. would be good to see how it compares to QCY sound clarity

  • according to an analyst estimate.

it cost apple $US59-$69 to make an airpod & sell for $US159. So profit is $US100 per airpod.

thats pretty high profit margin. Also I'm shocked it cost that much to make!

    • +3

Cost isn't the only part of it. To be honest it's probably less. You also have consider service, marketing, wages, store rent. However apple has the highest profit per store space of any other company in the world by far.

Apple make HUGE margins regardless. This is why they have so much CASH.

Everyone in the world is free to make a comparable product.. but they can't. Most reviews still have the airpods coming out on top. Production cost means nothing, Apple has spend billions into the R&D of this product which is why their innovation is years ahead of the rest of the competition. They literally popularised this category of product

      • +2

They cant because Apple/Samsung etc buy up all the top grade components that go into their products (everyone else gets the leftovers).isn't necessarily the R&D (lot of the "new" features in Apple mobiles were previously in low end Chinese products before they hit the main stream).Unfortunately people seem to pay a premium for the brand name (Iphones cost around $300 USD to make)

      • +1

Everyone in the world is free to make a comparable product

That is SO FAR from true, you're in another dimension.

If someone even tried to offer the same things at a better rate, the lawyers would swarm.

Its not like we cant salvage Apple audio chips, hell, China have even cloned them fairly reliably.

But the second you start offering something comparable with apples copyright codecs or such, you'll be done.

Not to mention, a lot of comapnies have exclusivity deals for hardware, so if I want a foxcon board for my device, theres a good chance they're obligated to say no.

There are so many reasons why people are not free to do that, its laughable.

    • Considering that phones generally cost 40% of rrp to produce, that sounds about right.

  • Have to upvote just for the description

  • Is this even possible to get price match based on this post or photo at other Kmart stores?

  • Kmart provides us with excellent value Anko air fryer, and not these wireless ear pods.

    Are these genuine Ankos?

    • They're in Kmart, so yes.

    • +9

100% legit Ankos. Kmart don’t sell the inferior, knock-off Wanko brand.

  • +1

Can anyone comment on the mic quality?

    • +3

Mic quality is Ok clear, you will need to speak louder. The sounds quality is just ok (not too enjoyable). $15 feels like should be $10. I think this is an old technology that why. Also no auto-connect you have to manual connect every time.

      Just bought one this morning.

Did anyone know how much this cost before the sale?

  • Love anything Anko, especially one that gives you orgasm!

  • +4

You should be in Marketing and maybe help the Liberals out next election

    • I know right, this feels like the kind of crap you can always buy for $15 at Kmart.

  • Great for backup earphone, just picked up one from Kmart Northland SC (Preston), there were quite a few left (>10) at the corner of check-out

    A1 description too.

I love the bargains on this site but fair dinkum this one of THE best comment sections on the internet.

  • Thanks OP. Just bought one from Kmart Knox Westfield. Charging now and excited to see how they go

  • +1

I would suggest these for $21.99, the extra $7 would probably be worth it.

    https://www.amazon.com.au/Wireless-Charging-Bluetooth-Multif…

    • +2

      Agreed.

The Kmart ones do look cheap and tacky. The case is huge compared to most other tws buds and so are the actual earphones too.
I prefer the flip top charging cases rather than the zip up one that Kmart has.

The Kmart buds are normally only $19 anyway so the $4 saving wasn't overly attractive.

  • +1

Between two extremes, here comes something "up the guts".

Productreview.com.au is about to have many reviews of little-known Indian brand airbuds, RealMe.

They're ~$150 from their official eBay shop or less on Ali.

  • OP must be a great salesmen.

  • Can anyone who have found some stock in VIC stores in the last day?, since Kmart only shows a generic one.

    • +1

      Northlands had some yesterday.

  • Can someone that has this comment about it being any good & a part # so I can call stores up to see if any left in VIC.

    • Are the $22 5m LED strips any good?

      • +1

Installed today, the aldi ones were better.
4 out of 5 were good, 1 has a bad controller so gotta return it.
Otherwise they are fairly decent, they are for the kids rooms to add some colour

  • $35 in Perth :(

  • $7 in Cannon Hill, Brisbane Kmart today. Has clearance sticker behind Customer Service desk

  • $7 at Mt Gravatt store. 8 left currently.

    • +1

Same in Sylvania Nsw. Cheap as chips

      • +1

I've been using it for a few days to listen to podcasts, exceeded my sound quality, Bluetooth range/connection realibilty and battery life expectations for the price!

  • +2

Picked one up for $7, I tried a few stores in my travels over the last couple of weeks and couldn't find them, until now

Sound quality is meh, all I can say is you get what you pay for. Sound quality is a 5.5/10 for me.
You can greatly improve the sound quality by using a sound equalizer app and adjusting levels.

Haven't tried the mic quality yet.

They are also very awkward when sitting in your ear, always feel like they are going to fall out.

I would suggest spending $20-30 and going for something more decent.
