The boomer and I are waiting.

How "multi purpose" can multi purpose be?

    • LOL!!!! Was thinking the same thing.

    • +1

You can rule out bedroom use, I won't be making that mistake twice.

  • I picked up two of these yesterday for free using the $10 credit. 😉

Thanks for letting us know ;)

  • Same uses as WD-40?

    • +1

This product will be moreso identical to the WD40 Multi use, great for rusted bolts and for some areas that need lubricant.
Its ultimately always best to read into the area you plan on using Multi Purpose sprays tho as sometimes it can dry the surface out instead of leaving the moisture there (ie. some chain driven systems)

    Comment (as requested):
Will it eliminate the squeak from my brakes? I know Bendix is a reputable brand for brake parts…

    • +1

yes it will, I recommend using the Bendix brake grease instead though…

    • And different grade pads next time perhaps.
Or possibly a rotor 'shave' if the vehicle's old.

  • Is this good for the garage door?

    • +1

I Use silicone spray for mine.I think that is the preferred choice.

  • "Penetrating formula" - Good to know

  • +1

Can I use it for my no-no hole?

    • You need moisture there - this one displaces moisture and also protect from rusty stuff.

  • As mentioned in one of the WD-40 deals, from now on I'm buying non-aerosol versions of this. I got a can of WD-40 with plenty of liquid left but it's become depressurised after so long it doesn't work. Need an air compressor to fix it.

  • Can this be used to lubricate the metal rails of drawers.
I accidentally removed the grease on those rails while cleaning and as a result drawers don’t open as smoothly and easily.

    • +2

Better to use a product called white lithium in my opinion. Will last a lot longer between applications. Can buy from bunnings.

      • Thanks for the advice. Just to confirm. This will not ruin the wood of drawers while being sprayed on the metal rails.

        • I find if you have excess you can just wipe it off. Although common sense of course and be careful when spraying to just spray on the rails.

          • @hmmz: I am afraid the Wd-40 lithium grease didn’t work for me. It made no difference at all.

            • @bashar20: Ahh that's no good. Are you sure you applied it where the draw makes contact? Should see it smear a bit if it's in contact.

              • @hmmz: I reached to WD, there is a possibility that there is a manufacturing quality issue with the can I have. waiting for their follow-up call.
I also tried it on window rail and that didn't make a difference in making it easier to slide.

                • @bashar20: Yea sounds odd. The stuff is like really white when sprayed on.

Go with PTFE spray, PTFE has the lowest coefficient of friction and isn't messy.
          https://www.bunnings.com.au/wd-40-specialist-150g-anti-frict…

Wiki " PTFE's coefficient of friction is 0.05 to 0.10,[16] which is the third-lowest of any known solid material (BAM being the first, with a coefficient of friction of 0.02; diamond-like carbon being second-lowest at 0.05). PTFE's resistance to van der Waals forces means that it is the only known surface to which a gecko cannot stick.[26] In fact, PTFE can be used to prevent insects climbing up surfaces painted with the material. PTFE is so slippery that insects cannot get a grip and tend to fall off. For example, PTFE is used to prevent ants climbing out of formicaria."

          • @Quarn: The Bunnings I went into didn’t stock it and the staff said they never heard of it before. So I went with white lithium grease which they claimed that it should work and less messy than actual grease. But then it did no difference at all after applying it which is quite disappointing

            • @bashar20: Try vaseline. Apply, slide drawer in and out a few times, wipe off excess. Seriously.

  • bummer, if i'd seen this yesterday i could have spent my $10 credits on 2 cans of this instead of a tape measure!

  • Can you use this as an under arm deodorant?
    Asking for a friend…

  • now $2.99
