Breville The Duo Temp Pro Coffee Machine BES810BSS $249 @ Target

210

Good price on this entry level machine.

The Duo Temp Pro from Breville is designed to help you create café quality coffee at home. Just like a commercial coffee machine, it uses low pressure pre-infusion to ensure flavours are drawn out evenly during extraction for a balanced tasting cup. The high power 1600W element delivers sufficient steam to create micro-foam, which is what baristas use to free pour a rosetta and other latte art.

  • Finally pulled the trigger, anyone recommend beans? thanks for posting hopefully this makes good quality coffee.

    • Vertue Coffee Roasters are my go-to at the moment, free shipping too

      aldi beans are good value

      • Yeh probably drop by Aldi tonight to pickup some beans

      • I second Aldi if you are just getting into it. Medium roast is my go to.

I'm usually fairly picky with coffee and would have to say I enjoy the Aldi Single Origin beans at home more than what a lot of my local cafes serve. Current fave is Brazil

    • I have a breville barista express and found fresh coffee beans from my local brewer never fail but are more expensive. Dont buy 1kg bags unless you plan on having 2 or more coffees a day and buy full beans over ground, they last longer but you will need a grinder.

If beans at the supermarket from Grinder, Rio or Lavazza are on a good special ill grab a bag. I always had issues with vittoria or harris beans in my machine but suspect they had been sitting on the shelf for a while.

There are usually good bean deals on here that ive also tried and they are typically very decent value and quality.

If you're new to using a coffee machines I would recommend to start off with some aldi coffee beans or coles urban coffee culture.
I assume you have a Grindr?

Surely here's not the place to be asking about hooking up on apps? :)

dasher86 must have accidentally had autocorrect on. We know now which word is used more frequently

        • it was a deliberate pun.

  • Anyone recommend a good grinder to go with it?

    • +1

Having been on here for 4 years I would think you know that everyone here is in love with this grinder.

      • it's a good choice but kinda wasted on this machine given the price.

      • This grinder is the best. We’ve had ours for a couple of years, and it looks and works like new.

A good grinder will pay for itself over time.

      What djsweet said…..
      Get that grinder. Its brilliant.
If you're just after a shot of black coffee, IMO, the grinder is more important than the machine (when paired with good beans)
If you upgrade your machine later, you should still be happy to stay with that grinder.
If you go back to instant, you'll get decent resale…more so than the machine ;)

    • https://www.target.com.au/p/breville-the-dose-control-plus-b… but not at this price. 2nd hand for around 40-50

This is a great beginner machine. Running fine for 5 years now.

    • It was my second machine. Hoy some good life from it :)

  • I'm using the Dual Boiler, but its taking too much space in my new kitchen. Any have both of these and can comment on the difference in quality? Only making 1 or 2 coffees a day at the moment.

Or any comparisons between this and the Bambino?

    • Just realised the Duo Temp Pro is only about 1-2" smaller than the Dual Boiler :(

    • +1

if you're looking to save space the Breville Bambino is way smaller than this one in the deal.

    • +1

Wanted a 870, but got a Bambino for $350 due to space. No regrets after 3 month. For the simplicity it makes an amazing coffee, and the auto milk frother, which I was skeptical of, works a treat. Due to few second heat up time, I can pull 1 cup, get it to autofroth milk while I clean up the basket / handle and grind second cup bean, then straight into second cup pour and done. One thing it doesn't highlight well is that you can manual steam just by lifting the wand if you prefer.

    • We have the bambino. Love it.

It’s not a dual boiler, and on the rare occasion I wish it was.

It a perfect size for our house, looks good and make a cracking coffee. We’ve had it for about a year now. Make four coffees a day. With regular cleaning and descaling it works beautifully.

The Breville is larger and comes with an inbuilt tamp.
The delonghi you listed goes for a lot cheaper than that when on sale.
