Fossil is having a 20% off site wide (stacks with already discounted items).

I managed to grab a Fossil Sport Smartwatch (RRP $399.00) for $159.60 with free shipping!

Perfect timing for all those ozbargainers who haven't done cardio for years and COVID has now made you run to stay sane (me).

FYI - I've previously had a Mi Band 3 and thought that was all I needed. This watch definitely steps it up a massive notch (albeit I have to get used to charging daily instead of fortnightly) but it's amazing having a smart watch/band that finally communicates without MiFit!

Enjoy!

Edit: Looks like Smoky Blue and Red are the only ones left - these watches use an 18mm quick release strap so you can easily replace them if it's not your colour preference :)

Hmm, that's a very tempting price for a Qualcomm 3100 device, even with only 512MB RAM. Consider the Gen 5 which adds the seemingly needed extra RAM and some memory, but would be $400.

    • The extra RAM on the gen 5 makes a world of difference over the sport. Love my Gen 5.

    • I would imagine, 20% off at Fossil would hardly create a mayhem for OzBargainers

    • Haha, based on comments below I think I'll withdraw my comments 😁

This watch is the biggest piece of garbage I have ever owned.
    I have 3 smart watches.
2 Fossil and an Asus Zen watch original
The Zen watch and Gen 2 Fossil are a 1000 times better than the Fossil Sport Rubbish.
It's laggy, slow, and has a small screen they disguised with a large bezel.
It's that bad, when your phone rings the caller id on it is so slow the call rings out before the watch is even able to tell you who was calling.
    Absolute trash.

    • Unfortunately I agree with everything you have said. Multiple factory resets, empty promises of software updates to fix bugs, GPS works perhaps 20% of the time. Endless bugs and issues with my Fossil sport. Battery that dies by 7pm if I track any workouts. Snapdragon 3100 is just a disguised snapdragon 400 from what feels like a decade ago.

    • I have seven smartwatches, all WearOS and have had another three more WearOS that I've sold off.

I agree that the Gen 2, and even Gen 3 I have run better. The bottleneck is the lack of RAM at 512MB on these watches, as anything that has 768MB or above runs fine.

The issue with the Fossil Sport and anything that is Gen 4 (Explorist HR, Skagen Falster 2, Misfit Vapor 2) is that the screen refresh rate was dropped in the hardware from 60Hz to 45Hz. This results in screen tearing when the watch lags, making the lags much more painful to watch and deal with.

If you're willing to wait, then the Sport is a nice looking watch. However, I'd recommend most people get a Gen 5 or the older generation WearOS watches that had 768MB RAM (Wear24, LG Urbane 2 etc etc)

  • hi does any1 own the Gen 4 , And is it worth getting or should i just pay extra for the gen 5??

    • +1

I would pay extra $100 for Gen 5 but not $300 extra.

The exploist gen 4 at $128 is a steal and you probably won't find anything better for this price.

I have had mine for 3 months ( bought it at $159) and no regret. It charges in less than an hour. I nromally charge it in the office while sitting in the chair.

Sorry, I cannot comment on the Fossil Sport as I don't own one. I am refering to Exploist HR Gen 4.

Unfortunately for most if I am not mistaken the explorist gen 4 is now way more than 128 even after current discounts. I just got mine from the last deal but can't comment as haven't opened it yet

        • if you experiencing any lags in the first couple of days…just give it sometime to settles downs as it will be very busy for firmware updates.
