10% off $250 Woolworths WISH/Coles Group & Myer Physical Gift Cards @ The Good Guys (Concierge Rewards - Paid Membership)

336

*T&Cs 1 2

For those still up for this game - delivery slated for up to 3th July (or potentially later after your follow up).

I have had to contact them each time to get them delivered, but they do always, eventually, get to me. I order about 1k per time the deal comes around, so I feel for a $100 saving, the niggle is still worth it. YMMV. Pay via Paypal recommended for dispute follow up if required.

To be clear - several people have had past issues with delivery, but, The Good Guys guarantee all products listed on the concierge pages.

Bahaha the scammers are after your money again….

The question is will you ever receive it and will it be before Christmas 2021?

I'd suggest anyone thinking of buying, check the previous threads of disappointment… Seems paypal dispute is the only way to get a refund…took me 3mths of waiting waiting waiting to get a ~$1350 refund

    • +1

I have been successful at getting good guys to make them send them each time so far. I think the description set out clearly the issues. Thanks for your feedback and warning. It's not a deal for everyone. I think for 100 bucks, it is worth the niggle.

      • +4

        Niggle
        verb
cause slight but persistent annoyance, discomfort, or anxiety.

      • +5

I would say it is for $50 only as you can get it from cashrewards for 5% off deliver instantly

        • -2

True. There are many places that have egift cards for 5% off and instant delivery. For fairness, I don't make 50 bucks an hour and it takes 10 minutes tops on the phone to sort it.

          • +1

@bigspike: On top this if you put the money in your redraw or offset account for 2 months, or even saving account. Then it further reduce the saving.

In short the money is better to be in your pocket than someone else, my little opinion.

          • +6

            @bigspike: 10mins?

I tried contacting them via the phone in Jan & Feb, on 8 occasions. Each time it eventually rang out. I left a very polite message, each of the 8 times. I never heard back, not once. 8 times. Thats about 80 mins. Let alone the emails I sent.

Good luck to anyone who gets them. I serious, hats off to you if you've got the patience and tenacity or secret tricks. But for the average joe blow, they're just scammers.

            • +3

@[Deactivated]: I did the same but with 50 - 100 calls a day(no voicemail) and after couple of days it went through, they always said my order is on the top of the queue but never ship. I raise Paypal dispute and they just accept and I wasted 3 months of waiting with them holding onto my money.

        • +2

And it's only $50 if you buy $1k worth which is a lot to be paying for something so far in advance (more than a month until you actually get the cards + time until you actually spend them).

        • +1

How do you get 5% off Coles gift cards via cashrewards?

          Do you have a link?

          • -1

            @movieman: Just search it up.

          • @movieman: Title been revised. Coles e-gift card wasn't in this post before. But you can get Coles gift card for 5% off at the same place.

      • +9

Yep, I used to defend them too. Even suggesting you ask them politely and be nice. But last time they just ignored me over & over. 3 Mths with that much money. And then having to lodge a paypal dispute and wait &wait for them not to respond and get a default refund. Pretty much sums up their business model. They expect people to forget or give up and they keep your money.

        Dodgey, dodgey, dodgey

        • -3

Nah mate you just don't know the secret move

  • +10

Please guys … DO NOT ORDER
Fair chance you will have to open a paypal dispute - thats if you remembered paying using paypal in the first place

    Don't bother with PayPal dispute

    Paypal Buyer Protection
Paypal Buyer Protection includes digital goods such as music downloads and similar but does not include prepaid cards or gift cards, “Items equivalent to cash, including prepaid or gift cards”(Section 13.3). In the updated agreement, they’ve clarified this further: “Stored value items such as gift cards and pre-paid cards.”

This exclusion covers both physical gift cards and electronic gift cards.

    • +3

So why did you +1 the deal ?

        • Nah i wouldn't call you a jerk, maybe a smart…. But in a complementary kinda way.

If you can scam the scammers, hats off to you. But your original comment wasn't really helpful though, was it?

          • +1

@[Deactivated]: I learnt the hard way because I also put in a paypal dispute and lost. But eventually got my gift cards. So just wanted others to know PayPal ain't got your back

I wouldn't call them a full scam but the delay is ridiculous. The either got some serious internal issues or the are doing it on purpose

Maybe 1 month short term money market investments

        • -3

          Neggers please

    • +1

Paypal can state any rule/policy they want but they still have to abide by Australian consumer laws .
And unfortunately for Pegasus that the only reason most people eventually get them :)

    • +2

I and others got PayPal refunds on the last deal. It was straightforward. That being said I will never bother with this outfit again.

  • I have never complained to paypal or concierge. I have always contacted Good Guys as they guarantee all the products on the concierge site.

    • +5

Twice they’ve palmed me off to the Pegasus Group. Obviously depends on who you get. But the fact you’ve had to query it with TGG shows that they’re dodgey and bank on people giving up or forgetting as their business model.

  • Notice Coles egift-cards At 5% discount .
Getting harder and hopefully these can be sent fast . Supposedly within 48 hrs but maybe instant .
    Anyone with experience ?

    • +2

Bought $500 last Friday, received on Tuesday.

  • Does anyone having this transaction counted towards their CC's minimum spend threshold? Recently got a NAB card which requires 3k spending in 60 days.

    • +2

Gift cards normally count. But I would add it to paypal and pay that way.

      • Yep I always buy them through PayPal in case of fulfilment problems but pretty hard to get confirmation whether they get excluded.

Does CashRewards stack with GG Concierge?

  • +3

Reminds me.. I'm waiting for my order from 4 months ago… better chase them up.

    They're definitely getting slower.

    • +1

      😂

  • GG Concierge now also have Wish e-gift cards but at 5% off
Is this a new addition ?

  • Don't waste your time or money !

  • +1

If they were operated by a decent, honest, company rather than Pegasus I'd order. But right now, nah, thanks anyway.

  • +3

I am still waiting for the gift cards I ordered on 29/1/2020, I was told it was lost in the mail. They must think I am retarded to believe their excuse.

    • +3

Yip me too, same order date. Escalated about 2 weeks ago and they promised to replace with egift cards and then they have ghosted all subsequent emails… such a dodgy firm

  • +2

Not worth the 10% discount. Last time I purchased they never sent it,twice.

They send the cards via ordinary mail with no tracking after few months.

  • Bought one.

    Thanks OP.

  • -5

If I get 50 up votes I'll give away how you get can the gift cards within 2 weeks

    • Deal :)
      I got you up to 29 .

  • +6

I wouldn't order from the Pegasus Group during the pandemic.
They used to run a 10% promotion every 3 months only.
Now they are running it every 2 weeks.
This prove that they are having trouble with their cash flow.
Their business model is using your cash to deliver gift card someone else ordered 2 months ago.
IMO, it's similar to a Ponzi scheme
I doubt if they can survive this year.
I wouldn't let them hold my large sum of cash for 8 weeks, or even more. Too risky.

  • i had issues with them every time i ordered i wont be ordering physical cards ever again only e cards if its over 10%

  • What's the issue here? I placed an order before reading the comments.

Are they not sending the cards within the 28 business days? And for those that experienced delays, did you buy within the amount that is deemed to be within the definition of 'fair use'?

    • +2

      You must be new here.

Even if you fulfil the fair use requirements they have a history of taking 3 months+ to fulfil orders.

And then its often after you chase them, repeatedly and/or raise a dispute with Paypal.

In my case I managed to ccntact them by email, they offered to send egift cards instead which I accepted then after 2 more weeks they stopped replying.

I got my money back via Paypal.

They are now also blaming the virus situation for further delays on top of their already horrible delivery times. This was from "Ashley":

"Unfortunately, due to the current circumstances we are running behind schedule.
We expect your order to be sent out in the next couple of weeks."

This was 2 weeks after they were already behind schedule.

      • +1

They are "running behind schedule" and running promotion every 2 weeks at the same time. Interesting :)
Let's see who will be the next Virgin Aust.

      • -1

I've been to same process but your mistake was to accept the egift cards .
Key is to not close dispute and only accept physical cards which will lead to getting them .
More advice is don't ring them they have people there worst than the ATO final collection guy with whole goal of conning people to accept egift cards .

        • how's it a con if people are willing to accept e-gift cards which they will get faster than the physical?

        • +1

Plenty of people got egifts as replacements for physical cards in the past. At the point there was no "dispute" to close, I was simply chasing them, as I expected to have to do.

The only response I ever got was after calling them and subsequently them emailing me back.

egifts are not a con - I'd prefer them. I load the details of physical cards into my egift app anyway.

Your post is full of bad advice.

      • +1

You are lucky if they send the gift card or card out within 2 months.

I order in December and still haven't got it until March and I raised a dispute and got my money back in April

The benefit of this site is not only that you can find deals easily but also that others comment on the product and whether any other stacking is available. I always read the comments.
