Woolworths Reusable Carry Bag $0.50 (Was $0.99) @ Woolworths

3220

I personally find these much better to use than the plastic reusable bags.

Side note. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't ever recall seeing these on special before!

Enjoy.

Introducing the Bag for good™.
We’ve launched a new reusable bag in our stores called the Bag for good™. It’s yours to use again and again, and if it ever gets damaged, we’ll replace it for free no matter when you bought it from us. Simply bring your damaged bag to the Customer Service desk in any of our stores and we’ll swap it for a new one. We’ll even recycle your old one so it can keep doing good.

And the good this bag can do doesn’t stop there. Any money we make from the sale of the Bag for good™ in the next 12 months, will fund the Woolworths Junior Landcare Grants Program, encouraging young Australians to play an active role in ensuring the sustainable future of their environment.

So it really is a bag for good, and for good. Get yours in store today.

              @eug:

              come on. The bags.

              I think that’s his problem

  • Wow almost 50% off!

  • -4

Or you know bring your own bag/backpack.

  • +3

Just beware that not all Woolies employee are well trained to handle bag swap. I tried replace mine before, and I had to talk to 3 different people before they acknowledge the bag can be swapped for free. PITA to replace a 50 cents bag.

    • This is standard in the UK. All bags replaced. Called "bags for life". So you only need to buy once.

      • Same in NZ too.

    • +2

The replacement policy is literally written on the bag, you'd think it would be pretty straightforward.

  • +2

Says unavailable in all stores near me….

  • Prefer the foldable reusable bags, small enough to fit a few in your pocket.
Never seen these on sale though.

    • +1

Yeah, the nylon ones are by far the most superior, they last forever, you can even wash them. They do go on special occasionally, three for $1.99. These are the only ones I manage to re-use because they fold up so small.

  • Just went to store bought 4 paid full price!

    • -1

That's $4 You could have spent on a piece of fish, or mince meat, loaf of nice bread. Rip off of a loyal customer I think.

      • +3

You can't bring that rotten piece of fish back to Coles in 2 years time and ask for a new one. :)

  • +1

I wish there was a "Leave a Penny Take a Penny" like system for these, I have so many because I'm awful at remembering them, but I wish I could leave them at a store for other people to use if they forget theirs.

    …Maybe after COVID :P

    • +4

      No, eww, I don't want someone's toddler-snot-wiped bag….

      • No one is making you use them.

  • +2

still has his box of 2000 singlet bags

  • +1

Why do they print messages on them….

    • +1

Free advertising? Just like a clothing company will put their logo on their shirts etc

  • -5

How dare you! This isn’t a special. Can we ban this cowboy from the site?

  • +1

    If anyone in Melbourne's northern suburbs seriously wants some of these I have a pile of them left over from old housemates. It would seem that someone would buy a new one each time they went to the shops rather than bringing an existing one -_-;

    • How much if I buy 2000?

      • +1

        Try a postcode in the 3000 range…

  • +1

Went to scan one at Wetherill park, Sydney and was still 99c.
Unless I’ve got the wrong one

  • I find the plastic ones better because its more compact-able and can fit in my pocket.

    • You must really give a (profanity) about the state of the planet that's going to be left behind for your great grandchildren then.

      • They'll manage or they won't. I'll be far too old to care by then.

        • disgusting selfishness

        • -1

          Boomer

        • +1

They'll manage just like we managed given the actions of previous generations. You can't judge someone's selfishness on their plastic bag regime.

    • I admit, sometimes I do that too. All this extra f-ing around is too much. Life used to be way simpler.

    • +2

Why bin them when they are recyclable? You still have to take them to Woolies or Coles to recycle them in their soft plastics

  • I would use it as a fashionable shoulder bag but I don't like to show off to the world that I did something "good", in play on words or not.

  • +3

184 upvotes, so where are these actually available for the specified price?

    • I am going to take wild stab in the dark here and guess coles?

Its on the website as a special ya doofus, stick in your postcode for stock the same as every single other woolworths special ever.

      • +2

It either shows as unavailable or $0.99, ya doofus.
Have a look at all the comments here, nobody has actually managed to buy any for $0.50.

    • Still scan $0.99 in store Sydney Inner West, cannot buy for 50c.

  • +1

Reusable bag is a scam itself. You end up buying plastic liners for your rubbish bins which could have reused their once off plastic bags as liners.

Also reusable bag contains germs. It's hard to clean. Once off plastic much more safe

Why do you think they no longer pack your items because reusable can contain coronavirus. Plastic once off unlikely to be so, would be fresh off cashier's hands

Supermarkets pretend they are environmentally friendly but evidence suggest many items in store do not need plastic wrapping they do so anyway to over pack many items eg. Fruit Veg etc

I'm not suggesting not to use them but we do have a pandemic still

    • +2

I agree. Before the ban I would keep the bags and used them in my kitchen bin, after the ban I had to start buying rubbish bags.

  • Good old WA. I got the interesting "Our store is not participating" and the bag scans for $0.99. Being a true OzBargainer managed to price match for a couple of them in the end. But not worth the hassle.

  • I have checked the stock, unavailable at all the stores around my postcode

    • Your not joking right…

      • +1

No, if you click on the link it takes you to a page to check stock around your postcode, I had 6 stores no stock

  • +2

I have a 10 cent plastic reusable bag from Aldi that I've keep for 3 years now, still going strong and I refuse to replace it with anything else.

  • Online only.

Tonight, showed the Link for the AD. Said no, only online only.

  • What do you call a house that has lots of bags in the draws, cupboards, laundry, under the kitchen sink and everywhere you can think up.

    It's called a ###### #####

    • Sounds like a trick question. A cheap pub? Meat trays getting a bit expensive nowadays.

  • 'I find these better than plastic bags'!!!

What do you think they're made of?!?

  • -1

People pay for these? I just take them and never scan right in front of them - they never say anything

    • I'll try

    • +2

when they are broken, did you replace the one you stole, to make them legit? Or you just steal another one? Just curious

  • Are these people that 'can't be bothered' or think it's 'too much hassle' to reuse a bag, the same people that will happily buy 25 bluetooth speakers just because they are a pricing error? 15c/50c/99c whatever, if you have them just reuse them it's really not a lot of effort.

  • Good move…
    But Still too expensive.
    Should be 25c

  • +1

Maybe it's an online only price. Price on WW app still shows $0.99, and scan in store still $0.99.

Can someone show us how to get that price in store, please.

  • Bought one of these last night but they still charged me the full 99c

  • These will make a fine addition to my collection

  • looks like there is no stock in metro Melbourne?

  • +1

In store in vic is 99c.
This price $0.50 is online only, and perhaps its different to the one sold in store, I believe
Stock only works if delivered, rather than pickup.

To pickup, it depend on store stock.
And most store don't have stock.

    • I bought some yesterday, they matched the online price in store for me (Heidelberg). I hadn’t realised it was online only. Worth asking, if you find a store with stock
