$10 at 7-Eleven for those who are looking to spend their 7-11 gift card before the 16th June deadline

  • Can this be used to recharge an existing account? I bought this for $10 3 weeks ago from Coles, can I buy this and "add" to my account for next month? If I add now, does it override credit left?

Most probably not as this is a sim starter

Ysbeer178 is correct, you cannot use it to top up existing accounts.

I see the main use as a cheap data SIM for your tablet or hotspot or if you need to port out your number from Telstra to take advantage of any of the port in deals that have been posted here recently.

I have ordered one of the circles.life $28 for 100gb. However my telstra contact from last year's JB hi-fi $500 giftcard promo finishes on 17 June. If JB comes out with something similar, I'll port out using the $9 SIM and then port into telstra. If not, I'll activate my circles SIM.

From what I read, the Telstra port in requirement is 30 days. This SIM is for 28 days. You'd be cutting it real close if you were to use this SIM for that purpose.

        • Does Telstra now have a minimum of 30 day port out limit.

Pretty sure last year that was not needed, things do change though, especially with all these CV rules/laws.

          • @ozhunter68: $28 for 100gb.. is this for 30 days?

            • @akanie: I think you need to ask OP/TheAccountant that detail, but as a guess I'd say yes.

            • @akanie: Yes, circles currently has a $28 for 100gb promo running. Promo pricing is for 12 months ($38 after) and no contract so free to move if you find something better.
