    • Got this deal yesterday. They said it ends on the 14th June

  • Has anyone had to wait a long period for their number to be ported to Telstra?
    I did it at 12pm today and still no service as of 6pm. I know Telstra say upto 48 hours, but that seems like a long time..

    • Did mine yesterday at 4pm. Was fully ported over to telstra by 4.10pm

  • Just signed up for new Telstra number as an existing Telstra customer. No issues at all. I was thinking I had to buy a cheap SIM and port over which is what I was told when I rang one store, but rang another and the guy said no probs he can do it without port and still got the $10 port credit so plan is $55. So it is worthwhile to ring around as depends on who you speak to. Just remember to get their name so that person can do it for you. Now waiting for Telstra chat to respond to transferring my existing number to the new service. Hope they can do it.

      • Just got off the chat and they said they can't do that. Strange as a few people earlier said that is exactly what they did. Might have to try again with someone else. Problem is they now keep all the chat record so the next person can see all the previous messages.

        • Managed to get it transferred with the next operator. They did exactly what I asked with no problems. Just played a bit clueless. Really reinforced my view that it depends on who you speak to as this was the case with both JB Hifi and Telstra.

          • @enjunuet: Having a hard time, did JBHIFI assign a number to your plan?

            Telstra telling me that the number is tied to the contract. Maybe because i waited too long?

            • @NitroNinja: Yes I got a new contract and number with this deal.
              I would keep on trying and just ask politely and they know they are not supposed to cancel your existing number and then assign it to the new contract but some will do it while others will just say no.
              Note that my existing number was just out of contract so it made cancelling it and reassigning it an easier process. Good luck mate.
