Although a different laptop, the last X360 spectre deal is similar footprint to this but i7, 1TB ssd for ~$460 less (although 3200 ram)

HP is just rubbish though. You really get what you pay for. Even though they are similar premium devices, the build quality is just completely on a separate level. HP screen wobble and fall down as soon as you touch. This Dell is rigid and solid and actually feels premium. People pay way more than the $460 difference for Apple's build quality so this Dell isn't too bad.

While I don't disagree with you on a lot of those points, I think Dell's pricing structure this year is incredibly high, compared even to their own pricing of their last gen products. This is one of the lower tier CPU's, heck even compare it to the latest G14. Bang for buck is nowhere to be seen here.

  • Why does the battery have a much lower capacity compared to older XPS’s?

Which model do you refer to?

      As I know, XPS 13 (7390) is 52Wh, and XPS 13 (7390) 2-in-1 is 51Wh. And, this XPS (9300)'s battery is in a similar capacity, 52Wh.

      • Never mind I was thinking of the XPS 15 which has a 97Wh battery. Sorry!

June last year, put here and say nothing:

      Seems like very different machines

    • Your specs are 2yr old, its the 8th Gen CPU, this is the 10th Gen.

I own a Dell XPS 13, beautiful & great quality built but, this thing runs hot with fan noise and coil whine. Will never buy XPS 13 unless Dell choose AMD Ryzen instead of Intel

    • Would be interested to see reviews that check for coil wine on the Ryzen models.

$2200 plus for a 13.4" laptop with shared graphics memory and an i5 processor seems like a lot, or am I missing something?

    • Are you talking about MacBook? because this is better than MacBook based on all the review.

Well that depends on 'low end' vs 'high end' MBP 13 2020. 1 big point of difference is this has the G1 Intel integrated GPU, whereas the high end MBP 13 has the G7 integrated graphics and base 512Gb storagw. I personally also think the retina screen is something that blows a screen slightly above FHD screen out of the water. The speakers are also very impressive. Admittedly the 'high end' MBP 13 is in a different class of price.

It's an Ultrabook. Comparing it to any old laptop is not a fair analogy.

The premium price tag factors in the cost of the ridiculously miniaturised components, the light-weight, thin form factor and excellent power consumption. For people who want something that can handle true multi-tasking and business productivity but that is light enough to not be noticed, you won't get that combination from anything else; hence the price. The Dell XPS 13 has been the reigning king of the 13" Ultrabook category for some time and the build quality and level of finish on them has always been beyond repute.

A run-of-the-mil 15" gaming laptop will obviously have better specs for a lower price most likely, but it will look and feel like a behemoth next to this and will have a battery runtime in full performance mode of probably 1/8th of the XPS.

  • does this come in the arctic white edition?

    • Not in this configuration, arctic white is available in some UHD+ configuration.

      • Oh cheers!

  • Codes (except for Honey 7) are still working. Just bought one using the codes
