June Long Weekend Offers at Bankstown Sound & Marine.

Hey campers, cheers to surviving the first half of 2020. Pretty sure the Myans got it wrong with calling it at 2012… Just wanted to stop by and drop our specials and deals off here for you to look at.

Housekeeping - let's keep it friendly.

In the interest of answering the same questions 100 times, we'll cover it here first. The effect of Coronavirus on the electronics industry in Australia has been devastating. Simply the stock shortage alone has caused massive ripples in plans and businesses across the country. There's simply not enough stock here for us to do the amazing deals you're used to.

So, for that, I want to show you what we've got for you and let you know they're market-priced, meaning that we've looked at the current market and have managed to serve up these prices, packages and deals - we think they're pretty pointy e.g. Pioneer AVH-Z2250BT for $499 WITH a reverse camera and free shipping!

Please don't sight things we've done in the past with pricing because, at the moment, there's no way we can do stuff like that because there's not enough stock in the country to support it!

So, after that little bit of housekeeping to try and stop the "You had this advertised at $xx three years ago - do try and rip us off." comments before they happen, let's get to the actual deals!

One of the things we're doing for June is something that really excites me. We see people come in-store and online, buying head units by the droves, but no one seems to think about speakers and amps… It's one of the best, easiest and cheapest upgrades you can do to your system - just buy better speakers! So, we've put our JBL Audio range on 30% off with FREE SHIPPING!! So now there's really no excuse not to upgrade your speakers and amps to something that is honestly, a lot better.

There you go team, that's what we've got (plus more online), as well as we've just turned PayPal back on as a payment option for you as well. Like normal, please don't fill the comment section with "Will this fit my 2009 Blah Blah?" Please go to Aerpro's Website first, have a look for your car and see if it can fit double-din unit. If so, you're good to go! Also, the installation price guide is:

  • Head Unit - $200 (plus any vehicle specific hardware e.g. installation kits etc.)
  • Head Unit and Reverse Camera - $250 (plus any vehicle specific hardware e.g. installation kits etc.)
  • Dash Cam Installation 1-channel - $180
  • Dash Cam Installation 2-channel - $210

If you've got any questions that you need answers to quickly, or I'm not replying quick enough, call us on 02 9708 5444 or email us as [email protected]

TLDR: COVID's screwed the electronics industry in AUS because of stock shortages. We can't do ridiculous deals because there's no stock to back it up. These deals are based on the current market. Don't give us a hard time if you found an ad from us in the past for a better price - those were the 'good old days'.

      • That’s all we needed!

        $343 for a blackvue 750s 1ch is decent!

        • +2

I'm glad for you dude. It's a 50/50 every time posting here. Sometimes there'll be 100+ people that get it and understand. Then other times there'll be 100+ Karen's that want to bring up stuff we did for Black Friday 2019 as if it's relevant. But I'm glad you get it, and yeah, we're happy with the 20% off Blackvue, especially since heaps of people have been ripped by Chinese $50 'Crackvues'

          • -4

@BankstownSoundMarine: Woah, "Karens"? You kinda ask for it…

            • @Ameowzon:

              You kinda ask for it…

Do we though? It's a simple thing of, it's a live market. Say we have a unit, let's call it XX. Its MSRP is $650 from the manufacture. We and the market sell it for $499-$550. For something as massive as Black Friday, will arrange a deal with the manufacture to get that sell price down to $299-$350, a massive save. Then, later the next year, on a not to crazy sales month, say February, we'll pop it down to $429 - so that is a saving.

But because it's not less than the Black Friday price, sometimes, it's met with the reaction of we have done it cheaper once in the past, so therefore by not beating our own lowest price, we're trying to rip people off. On the other hand, as I said, there are other times where all you guys get it and understand. It's a 50/50 thing.

We're a small business at the end of the day, we're not a multi-store chain. We do what we can and carrying on like that, I think by definition is Karen-like.

Roughly how much do you charge for installation ?

    • I really hope that was a joke, if not…

Decent pricing, but the post and comments come across rather hostile.

    • +1

      Yep. Too emotional.

    • +2

How is that so? They are being honest.. n actually everything he stated are true… I think ozb is full of Karens actually.

      • -3

Don't you think we should stop with the "Karens"? What if your mum or wife's name is Karen?

        • +1

My wife is Karen n yes she is a pain in the xxxx too.

          • +1

            @fatz:

the post and comments come across rather hostile.

I do apologise if it seems hostile, I only meant to be very direct to state our position without having to use 'Customer Service' voice that, almost always doesn't work. At the end of the day, we're all humans. Not meant to be hostile, meant to be honest.

Don't you think we should stop with the "Karens"? What if your mum or wife's name is Karen?

I'm using the name 'Karen' as the internet standard euphemism. Obviously there's no discrimination to women named Karen…

Is there any deals for the SONY XAV-AX5000 or 8000 (and does it come with reverse camera sounds sweet).

    • Is there any deals for the SONY XAV-AX5000

There's literally less than 300 units in the entire country, those of us with stock aren't going on sale with them at the moment.

Is there any deals for the … or 8000 (and does it come with reverse camera sounds sweet).

We've got the XAV-AX8000 on sale for $880 at the moment with a camera and free shipping. There's also not a lot of them in the country, but we're trying to generate interest in the unit by making its price a little more palatable.

  • With the JVC KWM150BT are they any good . Reviews from online with the screen mirror app is bad. Is it possible to use android auto on mobile and just mirror it to the headunit ie use screen mirror function when car is in motion to get access to auto /maps music

    • The info that we're getting from Kenwood/JVC is yes. There's always issues when you're talking about Mirroring, but in our experience, the KWM150BT is the one with the least.

  • does this include the blackvue battery packs?
also, any info/specs/run times on the battery packs? currently there's only info for the b-112.

    • At this time, the battery packs aren't on sale. Stock is the issue there again. In terms of battery pack vs. Power Magic Pro, there are only a few reasons that you'd go the battery pack over the Power Magic Pro anyway.

      • power magic pro?
the b-112 is a battery pack

        • Thanks. What I'm saying is why would you jump to a battery pack over the PMP?

          • @BankstownSoundMarine: what i would find helpful are some info/specs/run times on the battery packs. currently there's only info for the b-112.

            • @tdw: Because that's the only product we can get our hands on. The others have been on back order from the manufacturer since Feb…

I personally don't mind the directness, but not that impressed with the Karen reference. It comes across as unprofessional. That's my 2 cents.

Anyway, I'm looking at a dashcam for the ute. I've pretty much decided on getting the Blackvue DR750s. Do you put many 2 channel dashcams in utes? My concern is that it might not be worth putting one in the back if you don't see too much because of the distance between the cabin and the back of the tray. It also seems a big price jump to increase the capacity. Can you buy the 32GB model and increase capacity later, eg put in a bigger SD card?

    • +1

I have a 2 channel in my Ute. Since I have a tray, the window protector kinda gets in the way of the camera. All I can say is it's good to have a rear camera just in case

      • Thanks Deuce

    • +2

Can you buy the 32GB model and increase capacity later, eg put in a bigger SD card?

the micro SD card isn't soldered into the dashcam so yeah.
you might find the 2CH-truck more appropriate for your ute as the rear cam mounts on the outside.

      • Thanks tdw. Is the 2CH-truck a blackview. Had a quick look but didn't see it, but I'm busy at work atm

        • +1

they don't stock the 750s-2ch truck edition. you can get it here though: https://dashcamsaustralia.com.au/shop/dashcams/blackvue/blac…
comes with the PMP hardwire kit. just get the basic 32gb pack and get either a Samsung Pro Endurance or Sandisk Max Endurance (they're the cards most suitable for dashcams that constantly record to it). the capacity you get depends on whether you want to keep the dashcam running in park mode the whole day, how much you drive etc. you don't want to have the recording loop over footage from earlier in the day if the card is too small. at least a 64gb card, 128gb if your job involves a lot of driving.

    • but not that impressed with the Karen reference

Honestly, it was meant to be a point that before complaining, please put yourselves in our shoes for a minute… nothing more.

Do you put many 2 channel dashcams in utes?

Not really, as you said, the tray blocks out a lot of vision.

It also seems a big price jump to increase the capacity.

      You're not wrong!

Can you buy the 32GB model and increase capacity later, eg put in a bigger SD card?

As an authorised stockist, we can say that putting a larger SD card in after the fact is possible.

you might find the 2CH-truck more appropriate for your ute as the rear cam mounts on the outside.

100% correct, the rear-facing camera mounts almost like a reverse camera, so your tray wouldn't be an issue at all.

  • 20% off seems to bring the prices inline with other sellers. Looking at the Blackvue DR900s IR (32GB), $909 seems to be the going price.

  • what reverse camera is included in the av1000 bundle?

  • Excellent service from these guys! Profile pic unrelated.

  • Dam it missed out on blackvue :(
