Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus 128GB $599 Upfront on Telstra $55/mth (after $10/mth credit) 80GB 12mth Plan (Port In or New) @ JB Hi-Fi

1850

My first deal, hopefully I have submitted this correctly..

I was instore today at JB-Hi-Fi and they have a new Telstra Mobile plan for port-in and new customers.

$65/pm ($55 after $10/pm credit) 80GB data per month on 12 month plan with Samsung S20 Plus mobile for $599 upfront.

The plan runs until the 24th of June BUT the $10/pm credit finishes close of business on 14th June, so very little time. I saw a banner advertising this deal on their website under the mobile phone category but it does not mention the $10 credit which I saw once in store on their advertising material.

    • $10 credit should have expired on Sunday.

  • Hi guys, what are your experience with tour new s20+. For me, after 1 week of usages, i find the phone overheated alot, even when it is in my pocket.
Would i be able to get a refund?
I am disappointed after buying s $1500 phone and getting this kind of issues.
Also battery does not even last a day

    • As above, I have huge issues with the camera. It's as if the shutter speed is really bad in anything other than midday natural light. I have been trying to get onto my local JB to see if I can return it, as I'm pretty disappointed by that. Not the only reason to get a phone, but I would expect a phone that can take pretty good photos of my kids without blurring nine out of ten

Interested to see if anyone else has noticed that, because I can't imagine it's normal for this phone - might be a faulty unit.

    • The finger print recognition is really bad!

  • S20 series has been plagued with many issues i.e. heating, caemera performance, of course Exynos etc. Happy that I didn't buy S20+ and went for Oppo Find X2 Pro. Totally happy so far with zero issues (touch wood).

    • I have had no issues at all with heating, camera performance, and the Exynos processor. FWIW I don't play mobile games.

My phone just simply heat up when it is in my pant pocket. And battery decreased 5% every hour while on standby.
I don't want to close everything and turn off the internet/ mobile data to stop the issue, because if i do, i am not getting the experience of a flagship phone. Do far it has not perform better than my s7 in term of heating issues and battery life

Definitely sounds like there's an app running in the background chewing up your battery. Does the Battery usage screen show anything unusual?

        • Only facebook and chrome are used the most, but only make up of ~7% Usage. I will tried and closed app when not in use.

I have sent it in for Samsung to run an assessment. The other day the Camera app was used for 20" and the phone temp went to 45°C with a nice warning as well

          • @bargainfinder: I second this. I recently bought an a71 and while not flagship I've had overnight battery drain of 7-10%. Even my 2 yr old Xiaomi Note 4 only drains 2%.

Pretty disappointing for any new phone to perform so poorly, especially for a flagship like s20.

With mine I found google play services to be running in the background, of course it doesn't tell you what app triggered it.

Keep us posted on how it goes with the Samsung assessment. Might send mine in too if they can resolve the issue.

@naniktaish: they insist that no thing is wrong with the phone. Thats just how the phone is they said. They even said it can operated at any thing under 60C, which i called bullshit.
Anyway, i offloaded the phone for 1k after a month of usage, so i am break even.

              • @bargainfinder: You've done well. I've stuck with it, and while the camera drives me mental sometimes, other than that my unit performs pretty well.
