7% Cashback at Apple & Apple Education Stores (Was 1.5%) @ Cashrewards

1760

Greetings everyone, I spotted Apple cashback coming up over in TA's $5 Cashback Deal and sent over a message to TA to ask what the promo is and he told me it's back to 7% from midday today, which is awesome! As noted, can also stack with the $5 cashback offer for further savings :)

Another great increase for Apple, and an awesome addition with the inclusion of the education store for further discounts.

Even better from the last deal is that the iPhone SE 2 and New MacBook Air are both included!

Seems like the best deal on a new iPhone SE?

    • Not bad would bring the iPhone SE 64GB to about $701.40

      • Hang on, 0.93 x 749 = 696.57 doesn’t it? Plus the bonus $5 cash back

        • +1

$691.57 for 64Gb iPhone SE (when using this + $5 bonus)
$765.97 for 128Gb iPhone SE (when using this + $5 bonus)… I've been thinking of getting the 128Gb from Kogan for $809, so to get it for $765.97 is pretty good :D

        • +1

Nope, all cashback is calculated off the ex.GST total

          • @Pecan: So that makes it $696.34 for the 64Gb, or $771.25 for the 128Gb (assumes 7% cashback + $5 bonus cashback)

          • +1

            @Pecan: Yeah I was calculating it pre GST. To be exact the iPhone SE 64GB pre GST is 680.91 x 7 % = $47.66 cashback. $749 - $47.66 = $701.34 minus $5 bonus would bring it to $696.34.

            • @aussie-bargainz: I agree with your calculation, i was responding to the other guy (KeplersLaws).

            • @aussie-bargainz: recommendations for MacBook Air or MacBook Pro please for uni use.

              • +2

@NPB: MacBook Air should be fine for uni. Unless your going to use some heavy applications then I would recommend the MacBook Pro.

                • @aussie-bargainz: Thank you for the reply . I guess all MacBooks are eligible for 7% cash back .

          • +1

@Pecan: from Cashreward website: "You may not earn Cashback on GST" @tightarse can you confirm if the cashback is calculated on pre or post GST price this time around?

            • +2

@Aussiecash: Apple reports sales to all partners ex GST, so cashback is calculated accordingly. Thanks.

  • would cashback work with another university specific education store link? i.e. uni of melb

  • +3

Thanks Tightarse 👍 looking to buy an iPad Pro

    • How likely to see another discount (of similar size or greater) on iPad Pro in the next little while? Thinking about getting one, not exactly in a rush though.

  • Does unidays gives any benefit on Apple price?

    • +2

If considering Unidays, please remember that sales will not track to Cashrewards. Unidays is an affiliate, just like cashback sites.

    • +2

Unidays just directs you to the apple education store, which you dont need unidays to access.
So just go cashrewards -> apple edu store

      • +1

The Unidays edu store is usually cheaper than the ‘ordinary’ Apple edu store except for iPads and accessories, AppleCare etc which both stores sell for the same price. However, I will take this CR offer over buying thru Unidays as this offer gives more savings.

        • Yep, looks like you're right. I was looking at the macbook airs, and they're $30/$40 cheaper through the unidays link, but with cashrewards they're $90/$115 cheaper.

  • +2

Hi Ops - if I purchase the bundle software and apple care and accesories together with an Mac book pro in 1 invoice would the 7% cash back apply to the full amount?

  • So, is this $1,110 - the cheapest current deal on the iPhone 11 ($1,199-7%=$1,115 and minus $5 = $1,110) ?

    • +4

I would have thought there would be some plan you can buy then cancel after a month to get a similar or better price.

  • would there be a prob if i buy ipad pro using edu store under business EOFY. any prob with taxation?

    • I don't think there will be an issue as taxation office doesnt care about that, as long as it is under your name/business name

      • Just noticed that I cannot add business name in order.

        • You can order under your name and claim as business purchase?
A lot of staff members do this when they purchase for business

          • @ilikedeals: can be a issue if ATO points out (highly likely, but u never know)

            • @hopper: If you're director of your business, and you purchase the device. What's likely to happen if ATO point out?

              • +1

@codinghelloworld: Even if you’re not the director but a staff member - order the item, get business to refund you the expense.. it becomes a business expense. The “education” pricing is just like another special offer or negotiated price

    • Should work. Education isn’t only for students could be for companies and other places so should be eligible.

      • was advised that I need business name on the invoice. which is no possible on EDU store i guess

  • OP, can you increase cashback for amazon AU please? :)

    • +1

OP? Haha, not an affiliate of Cashrewards!

      • Haha, my bad I thought cashreward’s Tightarse posted this.

  • +1

I literally just bought $7k worth of products. I'm going to refund and get this deal - I actually don't like the spec of the products I got anyway.
How long does this deal last?

    • Per link posted by tightarse …

      Expires: Jun 27, 2020, 11:59:00 PM
7% Cash back and free delivery

      • Thanks. In the link itself, not according to the link though

  • =_= Just bought an iPad Pro yesterday via education.

    • +2

Through Apple? You have a two-week "no questions asked" return policy available :)

      • Yes through Apple. Hopefully it is hassle free. Cheers!

  • +1

So adding apple care is not included in the cashback right?

    • Also want to know.

      • +2

In the link it says that its not included if you buy it separately (in more or less terms this is what it says). Correct me if I misinterpreted the wording.

Excludes.. "AppleCare products purchased individually or after the applicable product has been shipped. (Exclusions updated 09/06/20)."

        • Thanks, but I was hoping someone from CashRewards would confirm if it works if you order the Applecare in the same purchase as the iphone/product?

          • +1

@pronoun: 100% eligible for cashback provided AppleCare is purchased at the same time as the qualifying product. It is not eligible if purchased on its own.

The following products are ineligible for cashback until further notice: Mac Pro (console), Pro Display XDR, Bose, Gift Cards, Gift Wrap, iTunes, Shipping, Apple Developer Programs, AppleCare products purchased individually or after the applicable product has been shipped. (Exclusions updated 09/06/20).

  • How long does it take to show up on Cashrewards? Bought it 45 mins ago and still not showing even as pending, getting a bit nervous.

    • +1

      As per OP & terms:

Cashback tracks to member accounts between 2-7 days after you receive confirmation from Apple that the product has been shipped.

      • Thanks!

      • Hi TA, how do I know for sure if my cart or order is tracked by CashRewards? I don't see special code in the URL or is it through cookies? I missed cashback last time but was only $2 so I didn't bother to contact CR.

        Thanks

        • You must click 'Shop Now' or 'Shop Offer' from the Apple store page on Cashrewards. This generates the appropriate affiliate ID in the URL for Apple to recognise you as a Cashrewards member. Do not exit to other sites while shopping, and certainly ensure you have any AdBlock plugins disabled. My suggestion is to use a clean browser with no plugins installed. The CR mobile app is also a good option.

      • +1

        haha beat me to it.

      • Thanks! Sorry was just a big purchase and my friend got it almost immediately the last time this offer was around.

  • +2

Hi op can i use gift card to purchase. Will it be valid for cashback

    • I like to know that too, I have a small gift card that I would like to use as part of the payment.

      Just noticed the below:

You may not be eligible for Cashback on CR website:

If a gift card is purchased or used as payment.

So looks like we can't use the GC, damn it!

      • +3

Apple has confirmed that payment with gift cards is ok, but you will only receive cashback on the amount that wasn't paid with gift cards. In other words, a $1000 purchase paid partially with $600 gift cards will get you cashback only on the remaining $400. Payment in full with gift cards means no cashback.

  • Thoughts on the apple watch? I just want something to record my runs and rides. Or something else like fitbit?

    • I really like mine for just this, certainly an expensive option, but it works really well with the rest of the apple ecosystem as you'd expect.

    • +1

I got the series 4 + cellulite when it first came out, 100% would recommend. You can work out and leave for a run without your phone. Apple watch doesn’t replace an iPhone, but with mine you can still call, text, use maps and Spotify/Apple Music. Pretty sure you can even call for an Uber, the only downside to an Apple Watch is the fact that it sometimes can die easily, but charging is fast. You also can’t access social media, but it this is only for you workout then it’s pretty good. Just buy the Nike version and pick whether you want wifi only or cellulite.

  • +2

Recommended, I got the cashback a few days after my MBP 13" Intel 10th gen arrived.

  • If only I had a big purchase to make. still patiently waiting for a new iMac announcement

  • I am not seeing any Education discount for iPad Pro 11" or 12.9". Prices are the same as regular store. Wonder if others have the same experience?

    • It is about $170 cheaper for the 12.9” and $80 difference for the 11” in the edu store from what I see.

  • Is that a full 7% cashback for a MacBook Pro 16?

    • Yes, you can get this config for $9,095 from the educational store and after the cashback (includes Apple Care).
      Retail for $10,698. Happy shopping!

16‑inch MacBook Pro — Space Grey.
2.4GHz 8-core ninth‑generation Intel Core i9 processor with Turbo Boost up to 5.0GHz
      64GB of 2666MHz DDR4 memory
AMD Radeon Pro 5600M with 8GB of HBM2 memory
      8TB of SSD storage

      • +4

        That’s a great bargain! :D

      • Lol on a serious note how many people actually successfully get an order through education store?

        • +1

In the previous CR Apple 7% cashback offer, there were a couple of people got asked for student verification with their MBP 16” orders thru the edu store if I remember correctly. It had nothing to do with CR but maybe Apple got a bit suspicious when ‘students’ (supposed to be poor) order the expensive MBP 16.

      • +2

You'd be shooting yourself in the foot for not taking up this deal of the century

      • +2

I'm gonna cash out my super to get this.

  • To qualify for the deal do you need to have the item shipped or can you click and collect?

    • C&C is fine, provided the entire order is created and paid for online.

  • Does anyone know if this will work with the Buy now pay later options (like the 0% interest financing etc)

  • Whats the average time between receiving the notification that the transaction was flagged by Cashrewards and receiving the actual cashback? @cashrewards

  • anyone knows if the Magic Keyboard with Numeric Keypad is included in the cashback sale?

  • Do they deliver with AusPost?

    Don't trust the other clowns

    • From my many experiences with Apple online, they only use TNT or DHL for my area but I heard some people had StarTrack, Toll and FedEx deliver their orders. With small accessories like cables and adaptors they usually use Auspost.

  • Qantas has a promotion going on: 3 points for every dollar spent (up from one).

I’m not sure how much points actually worth in money (ignoring the current pandemic scenario), so I’m wondering which one is the best option? Triple qantas point or 7% cashback?

    • If you sell points they're about 1c each per point (so equiv to 3% at 3p per dollar). If you use on flights particularly to upgrade then points could be better depending on route, but I would go with the cashback.

  • Can we use trade-in for this? I know, Apple trade-in price is low, but have old iPad Mini 2 that doesn’t worth much anymore (their trade-in is $60)

  • This is good.. But for an iPhone se i guess I'm going to use 10% off wish gift cards and buy from big w

    • 10% off WISH gift cards, where from? 😊

      • GG concierge offer. First time using them. I'm expecting drama mind you. If they don't post next week they're officially late to send the cards

        • Good to know, thanks for the reply!

  • Is Apple Pencil gen1 part of the deal?
