nbn 12/1 60GB $39.95/Month @ Clear

26

Edit 10:25PM: The 24 month fixed contract is a hard no dealbreaker. I have had a look around, may opt for a Seniors/Pensioner plan with others, otherwise FLIP nbn has a $44.90 12/1 plan Unlimited

Looking for internet for my parents who don't use much internet at all and speed isn't a factor.

Cheapest I could find is Clear NBN. Happy to stand corrected. Anyone have a referrer link?

    60gb isn’t much!

    • +4

at 12/1 it could last a damn long time!

    • honestly they don't use much at all, less than 20GB / month.. mainly Whatsapp calls.

      • +11

If the usage is less than 20gb, you could just get a telstra data sim for $25. After 20gb it’s slowed to 1.5mbits.

the unlimited pricing is absolute joke

i pay less at tpg with higher speed and its unmetered and tpg isnt even that cheap

  • +2

tpg is much better, $60 unlimited & high speed

Yes there are 10GB plans such as TPG NBN12 10GB - but I'd prefer something at least 30GB or so. (Just worried one phone or Windows update will suck up all the data in one night).

    • the last update was 8Gb (2004?)… and that's each damn machine

and MS doesnt even local proxy cache any more

  • So much ISP providers that i never heard of who are these brands why are there so much

  • Belong $55 a month 50/20 unlimited free modem and connection….

Wouldn’t you be better off with Telstra’s ‘unlimited’ mobile broadband? $15 for 5GB per month - slowed to 1.5Mbps after it’s all been used

Not seeing much of a deal. Try again….

Oh you’ve gotta love that $129 connection fee for no contract, or $59 for the benefit of a 12 month contract.

How are their prices even remotely a deal?

Also there’s no unlimited plan on the 50/20 and 100/40 plans - it’s 1000GB/month. Their typical evening speeds are pathetic.

  • As said above, cheaper elsewhere. There is no deal here.

  • I’m with Clear for my Internet, and they’re terrible.

A 12/1 plan will often seen 4/1 speeds (no joke).
    50/20 is often 20/19.

However when you upgrade to 100/40….you get 95/38.

I’ve downgraded and upgraded plans multiple times to prove they are shaping, and every time they find ‘no fault,‘ the TIO the gets involved and speeds miraculously increase again.

    • getting 95/38 would tell you that they just dont have a lot of contention on their high end plans… because they dont have enough punters at that price.

  • wow ozb member started nbn company

  • No deal here. 60GB will meet very little amount of peoples needs and I didn't think there were NBN plans as slow as 12/1. 24 month contract as well!

  • I'm not really sure why anyone would want super slow internet for paltry data when having a reasonable speed is only $15 p/m more?
It just seems like a terrible deal in terms of value - just go with a simcard and a cheap teether phone (maybe second hand) if you want so little data?
And goody when that rural NBN tax hits these low cost plans - it's going to be even worse idea.

    • And goody when that rural NBN tax hits these low cost plans - it's going to be even worse idea.

Huh? The cost is already baked into the NBN wholesale costs, it will only apply to non-NBN fixed line networks (and there’s a few exclusions with that as well).

  • 24 months lol

    • this company is insanely uncompetitve

maybe as well take gamble on belong

  • How is this a deal? Price looks the same as any other provider.

  • Not too bad for old people who don't use much, comments a bit unfair!

  • Definitely don't lock them in for 24 months!!!

Wouldn’t you be better off with Telstra’s ‘unlimited’ mobile broadband? $15 for 5GB per month - slowed to 1.5Mbps after it’s all been used

This sounds the best for them if workable, otherwise look carefully at the

Belong $55 per month deal w 1 year contract
    - If you join at start of month u effectively get 1 month free as billing starts from the 1st of the next month
-Get a referral code from friends or here at Ozbargain to get $20 credit
    - Speeds of 30 Mbps down, 17 up - unlimited usage. I know they don't need this much, but the price differential is really quite small for a lot more.
    - and they will get all necessary equipment provided, ie. basic but fine for them wireless router. No need to spend more

  • flip senior plan only $42.95 pm

  • Terrible "deal" that deserves a clear downvote.
