I sitll havent even got my controller yet from the last order a few weeks ago.

    • Got mine yesterday in wa

      • Can you give me a quick review? Thanks

        • +7

heaps of reviews from reputable youtubers if you're interested.

The short summary is it's great, has high build quality, and definitely comparable to the Switch Pro in that it's better in some areas (D pad) and worse in others (lack of amiibo nfc and can't power on console).

          • @coldazure: Hi, can the controller from this OP be paired to a phone and play games from there?

            • +1

              @bargainfinder: https://support.8bitdo.com/faq/sn30-pro-plus.html

depending on your phone OS, mostly answer is yes

            • +1

@bargainfinder: Can connect via bluetooth. Used it on my android tablet to play snes9x.
Need to hold start button with letter buttons which correspond to different inputs

            • @bargainfinder: Yes it can… In fact, it's better with this controller than the Switch Pro Controller. But there is some connection issue at times, rare but it's there. The SPC is a bit better with connection stability and I'm yet to get disconnected in the middle of gaming. I have a Note 10+ btw.

          • +2

            @coldazure: I'll add a few points too.
Has USB-C and comes with a rechargeable battery (or use two AA batteries).
Has triggers versus buttons on switch pro controller.
Repeating the great build quality - my xbox controllers joysticks have a bit of wiggle
Good compatibility - bluetooth, switch, android

the annoying would be can't turn on switch and often have to reconnect to switch as a controller.

          • @coldazure: I don't have Switch Pro, but so far have been using the DS4 with an 8bitdo dongle. I have noticed that motion aiming with the joycons in a grip for BOTW is just a tiny bit more intuitive and fluid vs the DS4.

Would you happen to have and feedback with regards to motion aiming on the SN30+ vs joycons in a grip?

            • +1

@tebbybabes: it seemed fine. motion controls is solid and responsive enough.

that said, i've only tested it on BOTW for 5 mins and haven't actually played the game for any period of time (not really my kind of game) so take my feedback with a grain of salt.

              • @coldazure: Huge thank you for taking the time out to try it! Much obliged!

I spoke too soon, it literally jsut arrived AHAHAH

The logistic and e-commerce gods were listening

    • I bought this controller from Kogan last month at $64.95 deal. I assume its the same seller and i had hell getting my controller. The site says they use AustPost and directly link tracking number to AusPost with all tthese "just wait" messaages as covid bad.. Auspost have no idea what it is and 2 weeks later when seller replied to my concern he says "Nah we dont use AusPost" so Fastway "delivered" it if u consider lying bot me not being home and then droppin it off at an Asian indi Newsagent two suburbs away where parcels sit for anyone to steal out on floor.

      • They did use Auspost for my order from last month and it took about a week to get to me.

  • got my one from the last deal yesterday - feels very nice, much like a ps4 controller, because of this I keep pressing "B" while playing switch instead of "A" due to muscle memory lol

vibration feels very nice, again much like a ps4 controller

    • Do the sticks feel right and responsive? I have the SN30 Pro (no handle grips) and the sticks kinda feel loose in comparison to first party controllers

      • the sticks feel more stiff/tough than an xbox one controller - i'd have to increase build/ads sensitivity for fortnite on ipad

edit: not complaining though - aiming with this controller feels abit better than xbox while xbox has a better grip

    • Same. These have the Nintendo layout labels for Y+X & B+A. Compared to Xbox of X+Y & A+B swapped. Have to retrain myself when switching between Nintendo & PC/Xbox controls so as not to press the wrong buttons. Which can easily happen. Though PS4 should be same as Nintendo layout. Just with symbols instead of letters. its just Microsoft that decided to change things up.

    • i think you can remap the buttons

  • Wish it worked with iOS and PS4!

  • So these are compatible with just phones?
    What about PC, Switch, Xbox?

  • Why is this $60? Why would I want this over a Xbox One Controller with Bluetooth?

    • +4

Multi device support: PC (detected as XBox controller, Android, MacOs and Switch…

If you play on PC only, might as well get the normal Xbox One controller so you're not confused with the swapped button layouts…

      • +1

As someone mentioned above, you can remap the buttons with the included software. You can also manually adjust things like trigger and rumble sensitivity.

But otherwise for the price versus an XB1 controller, you're getting a rechargeable battery (with the option to use standard AAs), wider compatibility and the customisation options if you're into or require that

        • ps4 controller has all that already plus its not ugly af

          • +2

@Kambo_Rambo: PS4 does not have the option for AA batteries, native compatibility with Nintendo Switch or a specific program to adjust trigger and rumble sensitivity.

Aesthetic appearance of a device designed to make video games playable is entirely subjective and not an objective reason to validate your choice of one piece of plastic over another due to brand loyalty.

            • @Ninternet: yes you can adjust trigger and rumble sensitivity. i was comparing to the xb controller like for like, not the 8bitdo

        • I have one of these…

Even though you can remap the buttons in Windows, however since I come from PS4, if a PC game screen prompt says press "Y" i would automatically press the button that is located as "Y" in SNES such which is actually "X" in Xbox.

Whereas if a prompt says "Triangle" i'll immediately know which button to press.

It took a while to get used to it but eventually you do…

However, if you switch between Switch and PC often, it gets harder to get used to PC's Xbox layout…

      • You can pair xbox controller with andriod

        https://www.androidcentral.com/how-use-xbox-one-controller-a…

        • Different communication method though.

Just like PS4 controllers as well when connected to Android may not have the correct button layout like the 8BitDo ones.

    • yeah, kogan page doesn't lay it out well, i get it now

      https://www.8bitdo.com/sn30-pro-plus/

  • Thanks OP, just picked one up.

Been looking for a new controller to play games easier with the missus.

  • +2

This is a really great price. Quality of the controller is first party levels. Excellent for older platformers too.

    • basically the same price as the regular SN30 Pro. it indeed is really good.

  • Showing sold out for all variants now when I try to add to cart :(

    • yeah gone

  • How is this compared to the switch pro controller? The switch pro is the most economically suitable controller for me, but the dead zone and dpad stops it from being my daily driver. I would like to have an one controller for all solution.

  • Saying can’t add to cart as it’s sold out for all three? Might try buy now button…..

meh Im waiting for the XBOX one coming out soon - looks sxc

  • Dang sold out again

  • Yep
No luck. Have to keep an eye out.

  • I love the turbo button feature on the controller.

Im doing the Royal Guard weapon trick in Zelda BotW where i overload the menu and can continuously trade weapons for gem stones.

Just leave the Switch over night on with the trick and the turbo button constantly pressing A automatically and wake up with 999 of 3 different gem stones.

Now i have 999,999 rupees LOL
