Hey Team,

Amazon has dropped the price of Ozbargain's favourite mesh setup. $91 for each node is pretty good.

$182.14 (random amount, right) for the Deco M5 2-Pac (picture me rollin') delivered, beats the last two deals on OzBargain here

Enjoy

Saw that but not directly with amazon and the store only has 93% positive feedback. Was happy to spend the extra $3.

    • Oh, OOS ;(

      • haha yeah I checked

  • I have Google Wifi. Worth to switch?

    • Nah keep Google wifi.

    • From what I’ve read the internals of google wifi and the deco M5 are pretty much identical

    • I'd say no normally, but many of us using Google Wifi have had awful firmware update experiences of late, some as far back as March….

      • What impact us the google wifi firmware updates had? I almost ordered the google wifi but checked the AppStore reviews for the tenda app and it’s 4.8/5 stars. Pretty impressive!

        • Loss of speed. Not all are experiencing these results.

          • @Twix: Ah ok. The google wifi (older version I was after due to having ethernet ports) is still more expensive than the M5, so I went with the M5 😬

          • @Twix: Seems to be the ones with 3 or so.

I've got 3 nest and one original and I'm getting tonnes of weird things happening

            • @scuderiarmani: What like?

              • @Bellpop: Says one pt is off-line when it isn't, awful transfer speeds intermittently, devices randomly losing connections, awful download/upload intermittently to name some problems.

Seem other issues online. There's a huge thread I found discussing it.

Been a problem a week or two for me, others since March and Google isn't responding.

I'm contemplating selling them. Fed up. I've tried so many things and these were the most stable.

@scuderiarmani: Wow, sounds like I dodged a bullet. Thanks for the heads up mate

  • Tenda MW3 or this for NBN 50?

    • +1

I spent a month or so researching these things. The Deco M5 uses the same internals as the google wifi. It’s a quality product. The tenda is reportedly good but the processor, ram, etc is much more entry level.

I’ve got 50/20 nbn too. My concern wasn’t so much the nbn speed but also what I’m doing within the gone network, eg our plex server, devices connected (smart lights, Apple watches, phones, iPads, Sonos speakers, etc).

Keep in mind this is taken from my research as opposed to real life use. I only ordered the Deco M5 earlier this afternoon.

      • Huh thanks for letting me know. I might also do some of my own research and see which one is good for me.

  • Are there three packs of this model?

    • Yeah it comes in threes.
