What to ask your retailer when buying your sheepskin products.
Where are your skins from?
Where are they processed?
Are the boots hand cut, hand stitched, hand glued in Australia?
Ask for the address of manufacturer and tannery. There should be no reason why your retailer cannot provide you with details of the origin of your boots.

  • Never tried Ugg, are these any good?

    • +7

Ugg is good but NOT from this Mob…cr** quality!!

      • -1

We guarantee the quality of all our shoes, if you have a pair that has any fault please email me at [email protected] with picture attached please

        • +3

I have tried as you guys ask but got as poor answer as your product is. I will never try UGG brand again

      • +16

I’ve a pair from them and use daily. From this exact store. Happy with my purchase and no issues with quality at all. Lasted a lot longer than many of my much higher priced department store branded shoes!

        • +3

Agreed. I think they are great. Quick delivery, good quality, no complaints.

          • +1

@eraser215: Also wear mine every day and very happy with price/quality

        • another rep from the store.

      • +2

Bought some myself from this same store a year ago. Within 6 months of use they wore through the wool and now on the material underneath. Disappointing.

      • +2

That is if they deliver the goods in the first place. If they don't it will be a massive song and dance to get in contact with them and get the goods or a refund.

        • Certainly didn't respond to my 3 emails.

    • +7

I got some in the last deal and am happy with them for the price.

They have a patchy history on here, but thankfully I had no problems and am happy to support local business.

      • Yup, that's what I have heard - Buy them and then it's your luck. :)

      • I want to know what the patchy history is. Perhaps a topic for a forum?

There are many “Ugg” brands. The mIlitant USA owned Deckers and then the genuine Australian local businesses that have been making “Uggs” for eons in Australia.

        • Look at their previous deals to read the various whinges

    • +2

The American Company Deckers bought the rights to the name:
      https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UGG_(brand)

And proceeded to sue all the Australians sellers:

      https://www.thefashionlaw.com/deckers-lands-450000-victory-a…
      https://www.smartcompany.com.au/business-advice/intellectual…

      • Just ludicrous, isn’t it. Prior usage should’ve applied here.

        • Yeah don't buy from https://uggaustralia.com.au/ but use other local UGG producers

          • +1

@exa: Sorry but we are not Deckers, your information isn't correct. we are 100% Australian made and owned and have nothing to do with USA

            • @UGGAustraliaOfficial: Ah ok my bad. It doesn't help that you're using the same name as the UGG that got bought by them and that someone added your website to the wikipedia article.

              https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UGG_(brand)

Quick question your website says "Ugg Australia® is the ONLY 100% Australian Made manufactured Ugg Boots with the last Sheepskin Footwear Tannery in Australia"

Does that mean that all the other one don't tan their own sheepskin but buy it brew tanned?

              • @exa: That's correct, all other manufacturers are buying skins that are tanned overseas.

    • +1

I have a pair of the tall ugg boots that they sell, really comfy and great in Winter. Have had them a while now and when the insole wore down I just bought the replacement ugg insoles that they sell for $25, so didn't have to buy a new boot. Good quality and made in Laverton, Vic, so it's made in Australia. Definitely recommend.

EDIT: Yep these are the ones I bought - https://uggaustralia.com.au/collections/essential-1/products… really nice. I did get them on sale though.

      • I also thought about all these posts with people saying that the wool wears quickly in the products they've purchased from Ugg Australia, but then others like myself don't complain about wear issues with their products. I think it possibly could be because the people experiencing the products wearing quickly might wear the ugg boots with socks or put their trouser legs into the boots etc which would stretch the boot and then make your foot swim around in them causing abrasion and lots of wear. I only put my foot and nothing else in my ugg boot and it still fits perfectly and my foot doesn't move around in the boot at all causing abrasion/wear. Just a thought anyway. I've had my Ugg Australia boots almost 3 years and have purchased one pair of replacement insoles that still have a lot of wear left in them. Anyway really happy with my purchase and when the insole wears again I'm just planning on buying another insole for $25 that they sell, because there's nothing wrong with the boot at all. I'm sorry others have experienced wear, but I haven't had a problem.

  • Do not buy!!! I made the mistake during the mothers day sale.Terrible quality. Absolute trash.

    • +3

We didn't have a mothers day sale on OZB? can you please send a photo to [email protected] of the product you bought?

These are completely different shoes and we have tried to respond to any issues via email.
If you email me today at [email protected] I am happy to sort out your issue?
Yes we use shopify? as do many companies?

          • -2

@UGGAustraliaOfficial: I do agree that if 1 style of UGG is bad quality, it means the whole of UGG and it's products has a QC issue. Being a different product doesn't make a difference.

Now, should you have said we have worked on this and actually acknowledge there was an underlying issue, you would have received some brownie points.

          • +35

@Thissguyy: we use shopify platinum and have done for years? we would like to help you but you seem more interested in shopify?

            • @UGGAustraliaOfficial: Plus for the comment

              • +11

@Thissguyy: Please provide the evidence then. All you have done is attacked them.

              • +10

@Thissguyy: Our shopify website is 3-4 years old and we have been in business since 1981, I still don't know what your issue is and you wont let me resolve it?

                  • +1

@Thissguyy: Im not sure where you are getting your info, but it isn't correct. we have had the same shopify website for 3-4 years. please check.

                    • -5

@UGGAustraliaOfficial: Yeah ill check with that ABN you have displayed

                      • +2

@Thissguyy: again, our business has been operating since 1981 and our shopify 3-4 years.
I cant be more clear with you.

                        • +1

@UGGAustraliaOfficial: Yeah, we're gonna need some photos of how the shoes broke or is of poor quality… I want to believe you, but you're making it awfully hard.

      • +11

Don't buy from these guys. Literally will be the biggest headache. Read the reviews.

I had been waiting since 30th of April for my order. Phone calls, emails, can't get in contact.

Sent email after email, had to inform ACCC and consumer affairs because he simply didn't even give a refund. He blames Auspost in all his failed deliveries (check other comments) when he must have the crappiest luck in the world.

I finally had to refund through PayPal as it became really clear that nothing was gonna come through.

Literally over 2 months. Avoid at all costs, this guy is just after some quick profits, goes through with some orders then ignores you and blames on Auspost.

Do NOT order from this seller. Read the reviews and save yourself the headache.

      • +2

Maybe you didn't call it mothers day sale, but sure you had a sale of these very shoes on April 30th, with people expecting to receive their purchases in time for mothers day.

The product quality of what I received is decent for the $29.90 they cost in previous sales. Delivery times were excessive. And attitude shown by you towards your customers both here and in emails is atrocious.

    • +10

Rather than attacking them, could you please provide the rest of us some pictures of the quality so we can make our own judgement?

        • +12

          @Thissguyy

Be an adult and stop trolling!

          • -4

@et tu brute: How is it trolling? Read all the negs this business has off previous posts.Find another site with that many negs. I got burned and dont want other people to suffer.

            • +8

@Thissguyy: Mine are great. Well made, delivered on time. Show us what the issue is.

              • -4

@eraser215: Prove that yours are great

                • +2

@Thissguyy: You're reversing the burden of proof. If you make a claim, you need to support your claim, not require others to to provide counter evidence.

This is merely a logic point, not agreeing or disagreeing with your actual point of view.

            • +1

              @Thissguyy:

I got burned and dont want other people to suffer.

It's not that people don't believe you, but it feels like you're actively trying to avoid providing proof.

If you're serious about wanting to help others avoid them, then it's not that hard to just take a photo or screenshot an e-mail…

    • +6

Mine are okay. Whats the issue?

    • +1

I have had a different experience. Ordered 2 pairs on the recent $30 deal. They arrived fairly promptly (given the C19 situation) and I have found them to be a very good product for the price (wouldn't pay $70 as they are not worth that). Very comfortable but order 1 size up as they are a snug fit otherwise.

      Overall a positive purchase.

  • +7

I've bought two pairs, on two separate occasions and each time the quality has been great. Gifted to my parents, who are really picky, and they love them. No quality issues at all from my experience.

We encourage all customers to do some research when looking to purchase

I'm sorry to say that I've gone from a supporter to giving a neg.

My purchase experience was poor -
Said to have been posted to Australia Post a day or two after order, but Australia Post never received it.
Had to chase up Australia Post with eventual result, they laid it back to the sender.

Finally got joy by messaging here to the rep. But what was delivered was the wrong colour.

So, ordering locally took >5 weeks to arrive with a lot of effort on my part, only to have the wrong product delivered.

They really need to address fata flaws in their delivery process and customer handling.

    • +1

Sorry to hear this, we believe we have addressed these issues now. Again apologies for your experience

    • +5

A lot of work? Flaws? AusPost screwed up during a global pandemic, you posted this….. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/8763964/redir ….. and they express posted it that day

  • +1

I've bought two pairs of scuffs over two winters (last year and this year). I've received both pairs without a problem and they're good enough to use extensively for a year. At this price, I'm happy to replace them each year and it's good to know where these Uggs come from. I totally understand that YMMV, with no real way to tell if you'll be stung, but I can vouch that their service and quality actually does exist somewhere.

  • At this price delivered I decided to give them a go but concerned with the negs.

Is UGG just a generic term for the style and not actually the specific brand?

    • +3

Ugg is a generic term but we have been using the Brand " Ugg Australia" since 1981 and are the only Australian Made "Ugg Australia". All other brands are purchasing sheepskin from china. We are the only company that owns a Tannery in Australia

      • What about emu brand they are Australian Made and use Australian sheepskin I use them and they come with au tag and certificate of authenticity also justvwent to there last sale and all there ugg boots and scuffs were $10

        • Which $10 deal? Was it posted on OzBargain? (Link?) Thx

          • @johnmelb: There was s sale in Melbourne 2 weeks ago it wis widely known

            • @Dex38313: I didn't know about it.
Anyway, if it wasn't online it wouldn't have been for me. Haven't gone out except for grocery shopping since March anyway.

  • -6

https://www.productreview.com.au/listings/ugg-australia. Read the reviews and past ozb deals before purchasing.

    • +6

Wow. That says a lot. The score of 2.1 is higher than apple's score. Just saying

      • +8

Yeah, productreview just seems to be a place where people go to only post bad reviews and experiences, its never a good indication on how a product or service is in reality. The fact that the apple online store has a 1.6 rating is ridiculous.

However - If you are after a review of these guys, best look back at past Ozbargain deals, seems to be very hit and miss. I had a good experience in the past, shipping was quick and product was as described. However after having mine for a good 3 or so months they are basically bare at the back and worn away, dont expect these to last long… $20-30 is probably what they should be sold at permanently.

        • +2

Part of the problem is that people will also order from other Ugg sellers then neg anyone that offers a deal on Uggs. Not saying people haven't had issues with this seller but always take the comments with a huge grain of salt.

I got a pair of these scuffs a few months ago and have been wearing them everyday while working from home. Can't fault them at all.

    • +2

we would really like to resolve your issue. Again if you are interested in resolving I can be contacted at [email protected] and I am happy to fix any issue you have.

      • +11

I think "Thissguyy"is more interested in trolling you and your products than actually contacting you to resolve his alleged peeve about your product.

He is happy to create a negative image rather than be specific about his "alleged experience".

Shame is on him, not you because you keep offering your email address to him so that his issue can be discussed and perhaps resolved.

        • Thanks :).

        • That would make total sense if they responded to emails, but they do not. The fact that Ugg keeps telling people to email and the fact they do not repond to them says Ugg Australia is the Troll here. Countless reviewers over the years have had this issue with them, It is not a new thing like they try and make out.

    • +1

You mentioned that you personally purchased items and they were of inferior quality. Rather than relying on third party feedback, could you upload pictures or evidence of your own?

  • +1

I got 2 pairs in the last deal. They took a while to arrive and wasn't happy with the colour match of one pair but accepted them. Within a week, the stitching on the other pair started to come undone so I returned them. To be fair, they responded quickly to my questions about returning them, returns were free and a refund was issued in a timely manner. I would have liked to exchange them rather than refund but I think that was my bad for not filling out the return form correctly so I will buy again this time around.

  • Just received mine after one week, average quality, bit smaller and narrow compare to other, so you may need to go one size up than normal. And no package at all, so not an option if want use as gift. Sort of ok for $30 something around including the delivery, but not worth for any dollar above as my own opinion. Little bit plastic smell from the EVA pad underneath.

  • +6

Ive had these for over a year, the wool wears away leaving a hard base for your feet. its unfortunate the quality is not that good.

    • +1

We use real sheep skin on all our products, sheepskin will naturally wear away unlike synthetic.
Its much better for your feet, regardless of neg Thank you for buying Australian made.

    • A year is pretty reasonable if you wear them often isn't it? I had the Opal Scuffs from these guys for about that long before they wore down similar and thought that the wear was reasonable for the price.

    • I would kind of expect that, think of how tough soles of shoes have to be to not wear away, I wouldn't want hard rubber slippers though!

  • +5

Last mother's day shipment took over a month to get sent out, tried contacting them multiple times via facebook chat, got 1 response saying that they missed my order, still did not send out the order after I contacted them. I had to raise a PayPal case for them to send the goods out 1 week after the case was raised.
Just my experience, but would definately not use them again.

    • +1

Sorry to hear, can you please email me at [email protected], I would like to make this right.

      • +4

I thought you didnt have a mothers day sale

        • +2

we would like to help you and what ever your issue is, you have clearly said you don't want help? please email me at [email protected] and I will resolve it or stop.

            • +5

@Thissguyy: We could never have expected to sell 6000 pairs from one OZB deal, We agree it was overwhelming and that's why we now put a 500 pair limit.
We only want to help you, so if you email me, I will fix any issue you have.

  • Are these the same as the Opal scuffs? I'm pretty sure it was the same company. If so, I've found the quality of them to be reasonable. Just don't wash them as all the dye came out.

    • yes we also make opal, we don't recommend washing them. Sorry to hear about the dye.

      • How are these ones different to the Opal ones?

        • +1

Just the Brand, made the same.

  • +1

I bought these back in March. Had no headaches despite everyone else's complaints. I think they are one of the best value purchases I've made this year. They may not be the best quality uggs but I have worn them comfortably every day since and have just bought another pair. Great to see they are also reducing capacity/quantity of the special to try and rectify previous issues

  • +2

I got a faulty pair from last sale and they were more than happy to replace and sent it out quickly.
    No probs here.

  • +2

Got a pair in March also. No complaints for the price : Ugg Australia scuffs - 3months old and going strong. https://imgur.com/gallery/713UBU8

  • Have been waiting to jump on a pair of these but want something with a backing / more traditional style that covers the whole foot

  • +2

I received these on Monday from the last sale..
