      • you beat me by 3 seconds !!! :D :D :D

      • If I had to choose between band 28 and order 66, which one should I go for?

    • does it have band 28 or something??

      • What's band 28 and how do I one?

        • +3

it's difficult, requires afterpay, shopback and dominos coupon to pull this off :)

          • +1

            @stefanko: Hahah, isn't band 28 for mobiles only? :P

    • +1

Does it run on Eneloop batteries?

    • NFC? Official Global ROM?

    • ????????

      • I meant 45% NTSC but it seems no one got it :(

        • Can we swap screen from Legion 5? I think that is 72% NTSC

The code JULY does not show up on Cashrewards. Does this mean it will not activate cashback?

Christmas in July - but receive your laptop in November. I love it.

    • Or - Christmas in July, delivered in December = Double Christmas.

      • I ordered a T14 on July 21 and got it delivered today.

        • I was just kidding haha

        • I ordered a e14 about 4 days ago and arrival has now been extended until the first week of October. I assume these will be later.

  • +1

Is the difference between the e14/e15 just the screen size?

    • +3

      Numeric keypad?

      • E14 has Alum base and wifi 6 option

Just a word of warning regarding lenovo's customer service. I've read lots of people that have had issues. And myself, i've had nothing but problems trying to get a refund on a laptop i got a month ago. I messaged customer service to cancel my laptop order as i wanted to upgrade some parts. They said all i needed to do was cancel the order and reorder the new one. It's been a month now and they actually shipped out the order after i canceled and i still haven't got the refund back. I've called daily, emailed and also talked to their facebook page and i keep getting the old it's being invistigated. Definitely will never buy anything from Lenovo again that's for sure. But each to their own. Just wanted to share my experience.

    • Thanks for that. I ordered one yesterday but forgot to upgrade the wifi card. When i asked if I could change it they said just cancel that order, get a refund and order again. I think I'll just keep the order as it is now

    • This is pretty much my experience also.
Buying from Amazon worked very well, but (They had stock).

    • I cancelled an order yesterday that was placed last Friday and the status says it's cancelled.
My CC still shows it as pending so hopefully it disappears.

will never buy anything from Lenovo again that's for sure

      Sounds like it's …..Lenova….for you?

      I'll see myself out lol

      • Same happened with me. Cancelled the order on 20 july morning and they suddenly happened to shipout later around 10pm. Called again the other day and the lady advised it will be stopped once it reaches their warehouse.

The hell received it today. Called them immediately now she says the cancellation was rejected as the item was already sent out and now I have to wait for their call to arrange the pickup and god knows when they are going to call.

Nice to see a model with a backlit kb.

Anyone got any hot tips on E495 backlit kb part?

I'm trying to find one after market to slap into my E495 but I haven't had luck finding the right part to fit with USA standard layout online.

  • +2

That is a very lucky price. MUST BUY

  • -2

Do they offer dimmable light bulbs or free blackout blinds so I can see the screen?

    • My main laptop has a 250 nits display and I've never had a scenario in which I couldn't see it.

      • +2

I have the T14 with 250nits. It's not bad at all. I am sure it may not be that bad in daylight as well.

    • No idea what you guys are on. On all my devices, be it phone or laptop, I have the screen brightness set at about 10 to 25%. I set the screen brightness to 50% on my laptop just now and nearly burnt my eyeballs off.

I have normal vision, so not sure why everyone wants their screen to be as bright as the sun.

  • Would this be suitable for gaming/basic game development or blender?

  • THINK-E for an extra 3% off

    • +2

it replaces the existing applied code. Better off with code JULY.

  • I'm struggling to find a single review online for this with the Ryzen chip. Anything on youtube or google anyone has found?

    • +1

      Ryzen chip is better

  • Is 250 nits too dim to be used outside in the shade on a sunny day?

    • +1

I don't think so. I am using this laptop and my table is just beside a window. I have this window open with a lot of bright light in my room right now. Still the display is perfect.

      • Thanks! And do you have your display at 100% brightness in this settings?

        • +1

Yes, let me try to post a pic to show how it looks like in sunlight or shade

  • +2

Since my eyes have been opened to the Lenovo Xiaoxin, I have recalibrated my expectation/value benchmark from Lenovo.
It looks like Lenovo sells the stuff in Australia that other markets dont really want, e.g. low res 250 nit screens in a chunky package with the $Australia tax added on.
Honestly anything short of an X1 carbon (and even that in many respects) pales against the Lenovo Xiaoxin Pro13 2020. /rant ;)

  • I received the E15 yesterday, looks great, runs great, no problem with screen, love the keyboard.

    • whats the battery timing on this one? Are you using 100% brightness?

      • At this stage have been using it powered up installing software including all the pain in the arse Win 10 updates as well setting it up on the network. Did the same as "nasvi" below turn off the Vari-Bright, it's running about 90% brightness.
Let you know battery timing when i get a chance.
        Cheers

        • Thanks Chrisie. I also wanted to get 15" version but order E14 as it worked out to be about $65 cheaper. Btw, when did you order?

          • @Shahw: Ordered 14 July received yesterday

            • @chrisie: Wow, that's amazing. Did you order something ready to ship? or did some customization? Because its scary as some people are saying their shipping dates moved to October-November.

              • @Shahw: customization :- Used the Education pricing the one with the 512 GB SSD Drive and added an extra 8GB Ram.

                • @chrisie: In addition to that, I added fingerprint, IR and ax200, and ordered from the normal web instead of the eduction store. Let's see when it gets delivered to me. Thanks Chrisie.

      • Tested the battery timing on the E15 it worked out while in use 6hrs with 10% remaining.

        • Thanks Chrisie.

    Advice for 250 nits

I have so far tested with various settings.
Someone suggested this to me in a different thread(thanks so much).

Go to AMD Radeon Settings - Display and turn off the Vari-Bright. The displlay appears lit up and very bright. Play with other settings too and I am sure you will find that the 250 NITS display is VERY GOOD.

  • +2

This is better than the previous education store deal (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/549085) as it comes with the 512GB storage.

  • I notice the E15s have 1 less USB port vs the E595 (which seems to have vanished from the Lenovo store for some reason).

Would this be an issue for regular users ?

    • E595 was on clearance sale for many weeks. May be they are sold out.
It would be nice to have a Gen 2 of E495 and E595 with Ryzen 4000 series. They have two heat pipes compared to one in E14 and E15 and have two RAM slots supporting upto 32GB.

      • Thanks for that.
Yeah - would be exciting to have a Gen 2 Ex95 series.

Isn't the E14/15 overall "superior" from the perspective of having backlit keyboards, shutter webcam and lighter weight in general ?

The only real advantage of E495/595 I can tell from outward inspection is just the extra USB slot.
(though you have just brought up heat pipes which I had zero idea about !)

      • +1

I guess 8th generation owl wing fan is an improvement over the heat pipes at E495.

Bought one of these yesterday, with the discount it works out better to get the additional 8gb of ram rather than buy your own stick. I also went for the wireless ax for $10 and the fingerprint reader for $22 (both before the discount) as a bit of future proofing. All in all $950 for a 4500U with 512gb of space,16gb of RAM, Wi-Fi 6 and Windows Hello seems like a steal

Edit: Its worth mentioning that there is an additional empty slot for another m.2 2280 SSD as well

    • I guess that must be E14, but with your configs and Windows Hello/IR, the price comes up as $967.97, how did you get $950? It comes as $950 without Windows Hello/IR.

      • I didn't get the camera upgrade, just the fingerprint

        • Asked that because you mentioned Windows Hello, but all good.

  • As a work laptop would this be a pretty tough price to beat? Was thinking of getting a Macbook, would the performance be comparable? Thanks.

    • +1

I believe this one is a much better value compared to a Macbook. I had a thinkpad back in 2002 and this will be my second one. I always see thinkpad as an iconic product with good quality and reliable components. Also, it has probably one of the best laptop keyboards in the market. Every review I read highly praises how good the keyboard is.

I ordered one of these a few days ago with 16 gb ram, 512 gb ssd and fingerprint sensor. I missed to add the ax internet but just don't want to bother with cancelling and reordering again.

  • People in the last deal said their shipping dropped to October. I wouldn't trust Lenovo about delivery times.

  • Looking to bite on this deal.

How exactly does the Cashback and Shopback and whole discount process work? Make accounts and then log in and the discount applies at the checkout/cart?

Also wondering why the 2nd gen (AMD) has 0 reviews and no stars, yet the Thinkpad E14 Intel one 269 reviews at 4.5 stars? Is this a new deal or release?

And is there a massive difference in terms of specs between this one and the E495? They're similarly priced.

  • Advice pls - Is this light enough and tough for a school laptop ?

    • It's 1.6kg so i'd say yes

  • Is the 'JULY' coupon code still working? Says it's not recognised when I try

  • +1

My E14 was delivered two days ago. It stopped reliably booting after a single day. :(

    • That's bad …..
I hope my E15 does not follow suite which I received last Thursday.

    • Placed an order in July, was supposed to be delivered start of August. The conveniently debited my account today for the full amount and then changed the delivery date to 20th October.

They are rushing the builds too by the looks of things and that means no QC.

    • Damn that sucks, good luck with getting it fixed or replaced. My experience with their customer service isn't good at all. Hopefully it all goes well for you!

  • If anyone is still looking to purchase this , I saw it on the Lenovo education store for $919 :/

  • Is there anything in this price range that has a delivery date sooner than October?

    • E495(Ryzen 3500u) still available for $799.50 (50% discounted price) with 2-3 week shipping. The upgrades also get the 50% discount.
      https://www.lenovo.com/au/en/laptops/thinkpad/thinkpad-edge/….
If you are going to get an update on E495/E595, get the RAM upgrade, the CPU upgrade to Ryzen 3700u will not give big improvements.

  • I ordered this few days back expecting it in early/med Sept. with 3 to 4 weeks delivery ETA.
Now I can see expected ship date updated as: 27-Sep and arrival as 06-Oct…so more 3 months wait time to get it from your order date
