      There are really only a small cluster of companies that manufacter the engines for lawn mowers.
      Victa use Briggs and Stratton engines.

      My personal preference would be either Honda or Kawasaki, but they will cost you more coin.

      I've also used a cheap GMC a few times and didn't have any issues with it. Unsure what powers the GMC though…

    Anyone got a mulching mower? How high can the grass be to still get an effective mulch which doesn't need raking up?

      I have one. You really need to mow more regularly than normal. And forget about mowing in the wet or damp. Otherwise, I love my mulcher.
