SHS-D600 - $99 (was $249) [OOS]

Features
  • Away mode
If you go out frequently or leave the home for a long time, you can simply push the Home button to activate the Away mode. During this feature, an alarm is set off when the lock is operated from the inside; a sign of a burglar attempting to make an escape.
  • Double Authentication Mode
Using this mode, both password and RDIF card are required to unlock the door, making your home that much more safe and secured.
  • Auto Locking
Save yourself the hassle and worry about leaving the door unlocked; the doorlock does it for you.
  • Randomiser
Before you enter your password, you are guided to push two random numbers to prevent the password from being inferred based on the fingerprints on the frequently pushed numbers and from being seen by anyone nearby.
  • Silent Mode
Adjust the volume or mute the key tone or the door opening melody for your family or neighbourhood.
  • Prank Warning
If you pull the door forcefully or enter an incorrect password more than five times consecutively, the door lock sounds a warning and disables key authentication for three minutes to help prevent trespassing.
  • Abnormal High Temperature Warning
If an abnormally high temperature is sensed inside the home, a light on the interior side of the door lock flickers showing you the emergency exit. The door lock automatically opens for swift evacuation.
  • Low battery Indicator
If the batteries are running low, the door lock informs you through a specific melody or keypad LED. You can easily replace the batteries without having to check the battery life.
  • Emergency power supply
If you fail to replace the batteries before they are fully discharged, you can still open the door with a 9V battery one the instant battery charging terminal.

    • I paid for mine via pay pal and then wouldn't load me back to the digital locks website. Was about to order another one but then I received a sms from them, followed by a email acknowledging the purchase.

  • The randomizer function in these Samsung locks is absolutely shit. I have few of these. You need to enter the only 2 random numbers which appear first when you touch the lock, other numbers are greyed out. Then the whole number pad will appear and you put your PIN in (for example 1234) then it will open. So if someone is sneaky, they can absolutely just remember the last 4 numbers (or even the whole sequence, 6 numbers including the first 2 random numbers).
In other locks you can enter a sequence of many Random numbers as long as you enter you PIN within that sequence anywhere. This will make it almost impossible to remember the whole sequence unless someone sneakily record you entering the numbers.

It isn't to stop people from looking over your shoulder - it is to create fingerprints on all possible numbers

    • +8

The 2 digit randomiser at the start is there so that your fingerprints show up on different parts of the screen, making it harder for someone to try and figure your pin out because your fingerprints will be all over the screen and not on just the 4 digits you use.

I would say if you're worried about the people who are standing next to you while you enter your pin, wanting to break into your house. You might want to re evaluate who you hang around with.. 😁

      • +1

You are not in the situation so you wouldn’t have any idea. I usually get home with some friends/guests who will walk with me to the door. I feel weird asking them to turn away when I enter the PIN. My children also many time open the door with their friends and they‘re also too shy to ask their friends to turn away.
With the randomizer function from other brands, you wouldn’t have to be in that sensitive situation. Just enter whatever numbers you want and no one would have a clue.

        • First enough. Sorry, didn't mean to be a dick.

        • Why not get a lock with RFID or fingerprint then?

          • @spaceflight: These locks come with RFID tag, but you don't always have the tag with you.
            Fingerprint locks are expensive.
I didn't know Samsung locks have such bad security measure for the randomizer and bought few of them at the same time. Otherwise I would have bought other brands.
But other than that, it's good quality locks at reasonable price.

            • @living4music:

These locks come with RFID tag, but you don't always have the tag with you.

You could get an RFID sticker and stick it to your phone

Or you could try using your phone Apple Pay or Google Pay credit card as the RFID card.

Someone in this thread said a credit card works so using your phone credit card might work too.

    • So don't have anyone peering over your shoulder to see what you're touching? Bit like using an ATM machine? If they're close enough to see you're PIN they are probably close enough to mug you. Don't see a problem with the set on these locks. Is secure enough for residential applications.

  • The sites been hammered since this deal was posted. I doubt they have this many in stock.

  • 12k clicks,….

  • Error…database connection….damn..

  • No luck so far …

  • Managed to get one. Thanks OP. Although not sure if I should have waited and got a smart lock that opens with phone or something. Oh well. Atleast not gonna regret missing out on this deal.

Got one with a lot of persistence. Was looking for one for the internal garage door, cheers OP!

    • Does anyone know if it’s safe to install the normally reverse side of the lock on the garage side? Just realised my door frame will prevent it going the other way :(

wow that was painful experience trying to checkout managed. sheer determination

  • hmmm decisions decisions. Very tempting.

Seriously, unless you live in a mansion - i'm talking places worth 10Mil+ this is the dorkiest and most 'douchebagy' thing you can have.

    • Consumerism at it's finest. Don't question it! :)

    • There's much better digital door locks for people who have 10mil

There's much better digital door locks for people who have 10mil

It's a figurative number, the aim of the statement is to highlight some items compliment expensive items and can equally make cheaper items look cheesy.

        Example….

A Lamborghini can get away with a Lime Green colour, not a Toyota 86

    • +3

You clearly don't understand how convenient these things are.
After you own one of these, you'll want to fit one on every door.

      • -2

Dude they've been around for 20yrs+ - uptake has been minimal.

Too much risk, fire saftey and the thing melting, hands dirty and touch panel not registering, etc.

        • I've used them for over 15 years in my old house, before I moved.
The only "risk" is that they can go out of battery when you are holidaying for extended periods.
For the rest, it's because the unit was shit.
          Samsung ones are good.

        • They are very popular in Korea.

Finally got the page to load and showing OOS.

  • OOS

We'll that was painful. Tried for hours and now it's out of stock.
That site must be on a server that only allows 1kb/s

  • Looks to be expired… I tried buying but OOS.

It shows out of stock now, but https://digitaldoorlocks.com.au/product/samsung-rim-shp-d607… available for same price.

    Looks to be expired

  • I just cancelled my order so keep checking as it may be back in stock

  • I just watched the installation video for the SHS-D607.. it's for OUTWARD opening doors. Watch it yourself and correct me if I'm wrong.

    • I installed 2 of these on inward opening doors 2 weeks ago.

      • Any issues with it or anything special you had to do to install them properly? I just got the D600 and it says it's designed for doors which open outwards too.

  • Wow that was the most painful thing I've had to do. Took 2 hrs but I finally got a SHS-D607

Thanks to whoever found it on that terrible website.

  • Got one, thanks OP.

can anyone please suggest me a smart lock for a wooden external gate (should be weather proof and the lock should be adjustable due to the movement on the fence/gate)?

  • i've been using one for 15 months and love the lock. This is a great bargain.

  • Which one is better?

  • No stock

  • Received mine today at lunchtime. Very happy with the prompt delivery .

    • Did you get a tracking email?
I still only got the original order email, nothing since

      • +1

I did but it was on the same day as delivery. I was really surprised to see it turn up. StarTrack delivered it.

        • Cheers.

    • oh wow that's fast!
I emailed them on 07/08 and they said my order is being shipped that day and I'll get a shipping number, but still nothing today. So I called asking about my order and they said it's OOS… ummm pretty sure I ordered before everyone else but yeah disappointed they don't do first in first out

  • Just got mine - it looks great but the manual says it's for inwards opening doors, and mines not. Anyone know if that will be an issue or if you can do something to make it work anyway?

    • If you can't get it to work I'm happy to buy it off you. Send me a PM.

      • Sorry mate. It did end up working.

        • All good, Someone else messaged me.

    • +1

Just to follow this up - the locked worked fine on my inward opening door. Not sure what it being designed for an outward opening door even meant. I didn't have to do any special customisations or anything. Basically followed the steps at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=az_gIVj7mLY&t=580s. Although for a different lock it's very physically similar, if not the same and so the steps worked good.

  • If anyone ordered one of these in the moment now doesn't want it (or it doesn't fit) I'm happy to buy off you. Send me a PM. TIA

  • I also got my mine today. However, the box wasn't sealed. Looks like it was opened before.. no signs of it being used though.

  • Just got mine today, now I know why it is called a "rim lock". Should have done my research properly before buying. Anyone has good digital deadbolt (or is it called mortice lock) to recommend?

    • Which one did you get?

  • Looks like they’re out of stock - I just got an email offering an upgrade to https://digitaldoorlocks.com.au/product/samsung-bluetooth-ri…

Didn’t mention any cost so presume it’s free.
What do people think of this one?

    • That's the Bluetooth one which normally is $249 so not bad if it's free.

    • The only difference is the additional bluetooth capability so why not? It is like buying the 500g mince from Woolies but they are OOS and replaced it with a 1kg tray. No harm I suppose.

  • Bought one but doesn't suit my door. Please PM me if you'd like to buy it from me. Thanks!

    • which one did you buy?

      • D607 (the round one)

  • Pretty interesting seeing all these skeptical or fascinated comments about smart locks since it's actually harder finding a house with traditional locks in places like Asia :p
